Cracking start to the season mate. Loving the Motherwell win also .

Cheers bud, appreciate all the comments I receive. If I remember correctly Motherwell nearly won the SPL last season, only lost it on goal difference to Celtic due to both teams losing on the final day. They were no mugs and I’m pleased we beat them.

Six matches happened in October as we looked to retain our Challenge Cup trophy, which was won last season vs. East Fife as we entertained Livi in the semi final this season. We also shocked Dundee United in the quarter final of the League Cup. In between both cup games we played four league games as Rangers remained undefeated.

http://i50.tinypic.com/2ppwzfl.jpg

Dumbarton travelled to Ibrox to start October and a 38,385 strong crowd saw the hosts run out 4-0 victors as both Ephraim and Sandaza hit doubles in both halves.

We then hosted the bottom club Stranraer and a similar sized crowd saw a three goals to nil win as central defender Cribari opened the scoring on eighteen minutes before a second half double from Shiels and Sandaza sealed the points.

A much changed side (against my will) took on Livingston in the Challenge Cup semi final and Rangers came out on top of a five goal thriller as Hutton opened the scoring on fourteen minutes before the First Division side levelled, defender Perry regained the lead late in extra time but again Livingston made it 2-2 before a penalty, from Sandaza in second half stoppage time at the end of extra time put Rangers into the final.

Next up was a trip to Somerset Park to face Ayr as we were forced to comeback from 2-0 down to pick up three points. The hosts went two goals up after half an hour and that's how it remained until on-loan Ephraim pulled a goal back on fifty five minutes and nine minutes later the same man made it 2-2 - Shiels' penalty, in stoppage time won it.

An early goal from Ephraim sent us on the road to victory at home to Brechin - Sandaza doubled the lead on 50 minutes, Shiels added a third before Templeton sealed the points with a lovely finish.

Dundee United in the League Cup quarter final completed October and we progressed to the semi finals with a 3-0 win - Ephraim scored twice in the space of seven minutes in the first half and then Shiels added a third in the second half. It was a deserved victory as we'll face (I think) Hearts in the semis.

http://i49.tinypic.com/25srbf4.jpg

Rangers regained top spot following victory over Dumbarton and the "Teddy Bears" didn't look back as we've opened an eight point gap at the top ahead of Stenhousemuir who are in second place and level on points with Ayr.

Despite picking up their first win last month Stranraer remain bottom of the second division six points behind Arbroath. Peterhead have slipped to third bottom. East Fife are in the last play-off spot with Brechin, Dumbarton and Cowdenbeath making up the rest of the league.

In my second division campaign, kept Bocanegra, sold Goian and watched in awe as Kane Hemmings and Kal Naismith ran roughshod over all before us, seriously, Hemmings was 38 (7) games and 31 goal return. Who needs transfers when that goldmine was sitting in reserves? Naismith chipped in with 13 and David Templeton and Neil Alexander got Scotland call ups (but no caps). Another revelation was Luca Gasparotto, defensive rock and scored 7 goals from corner set pieces.

Once the embargo opened up I set Andrew Dixon as the one who hires/fires a director of football and he got John Collins, he then was set to find players to sign and in January signed Ryan Jack to replace Argyriou who wanted an obscene pay raise so he was let go when contract was up. Argyriou had a great season though, but not worth 8 grand/week. Central defense rotated between Ross Perry, Sébastien Faure and Luca Gasparotta after Emílson Cribari suffered knee ligament injury and missed most of the year, he was released on a free at end of season too. Bocanegra was ever present at left back.

Midfield was Templeton on the left, McCulloch or Kyle Hutton and Ian Black or Chris Herd in the middle and Hogan Ephraim on the right

Naismith and Hemmings upfront.

Won the treble, league by end of February, almost went 100%, silly draws towards the end scuppered that.

Now in the first division and Collins is snapping up young (and cheap) talent like no ones business, Danny Gierke, Milos Veljkovic, Barry Douglas, James Tevernier, Ryan Dow and Ashlet Smith-Brown. Bocanegra is now a player coach after retiring from international football after 2014 World Cup.

Exciting times ahead as finances seem to be on a even keel.

Yet again cheers mate. With Celtic out of the League Cup we’ve a real chance of winning it but I need to make sure I get past Hearts – who remember beat us in the semi final of the Scottish Cup at the end of last season.

The league has been pretty easy thus far. Can it get harder? Possibly.

Interesting. I decided to sell them both as they’re “old” and I was over my wage budget so selling them both has helped me drastically, I didn’t need them last season since they were out on loan and I sure don’t need them now. As for Hemmings and Naismith, I’m sure I released one of them whenever their contracts expired, I think.

Definitely thinking of shipping out Argyriou once I can find a suitable offer because you’re right, he’s not worth the cash he’s on and I doubt he’d accept a lower offer to remain at the club. I use Faure/Cribari as my central defenders with Gasparotta as back up and he’s not been too shabby. Templeton has been amazing for me, scoring a bag full from the left wing position. Castelen/Ephraim have also chipped in from the other side while Shiels and Black love scoring world-class long-range efforts.

In the middle of midfield I use Black and Herd although that will need to change as Herd will be leaving the club in the summer when his loan spell comes to an end – I’m not confident he will return but will try. I would love to win the treble this season and it’s possible.

Could have November posted today, will play that month later today.

Three second division games. Two Scottish Cup ties and a Challenge Cup final as we looked to retain our trophy against Stenhousemuir. It would have been a sensational November as we didn't concede a single goal but it wasn't as we slipped up to a scoreless draw away to Cowdenbeath and to be honest, the performances haven't been that great.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/zObxjs20wauO3cUQYHP0BDKtn1pLcjqKt6WOjWsy.jpg

Lothian Thistle away in the Scottish Cup started November as a crowd of 718 spectators saw the second division side run out comfortable three goal winners as Sandaza got the ball rolling in the 12th minute and then Shiels levelled from the spot late in the first half before the Spaniard Sandaza added his second early in the second half.

Our next game was away to Cowdenbeath and we stuttered to a 0-0 draw. Cowdenbeath were poor. We were brutal. Fair result.

We did manage to retain the Challenge Cup as we swept a side Stenhousemuir in the second half. Winger Ephraim opened the scoring in the fifty third minute and that was doubled thanks to Sandaza's 64th minute strike - Ephraim, on-loan from QPR until the end of this season netted his second in stoppage time to keep the trophy at Ibrox.

Arbroath came to Ibrox with a new manager and Rangers gave him a horrible debut as the Ibrox side ran out 5-0 winners, two early Sandaza goals set the tone and that's how it remained until Templeton scored in the sixty fourth minute before two own goals in two minutes from Bullock and Travis sealed the rout.

Next was a trip to Peterhead as Rangers continued their 100% record against "The Blue Toon" as Templeton and Sandaza were both on target in each half at Balmoor.

And the month concluded with a Scottish Cup fourth round tie with East Fife as we eased to victory. The opening goal came in the eleventh minute whenever Templeton smashed the ball in off the post and then Sandaza doubled before the half hour. An own goal near the hour mark sealed the passage.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/zAGewpn0SxPn7XlXDL3sXM1X1yoIMXdgf6YYHwPZ.jpg

We're 8 points clear at the top with a game in hand against East Fife, win that and we move 11 points clear of Ayr who are in second and a point in front of Stenhousemuir. Cowdenbeath who are fourth are nine points behind Stenhousemuir.

Stranraer, who could only pick up a single point remain bottom, five points adrift of Arbroath who have lost two out of two since Peacock became manager. There is then a seven point gap between the Gayfield Park side and Peterhead who are third bottom. Brechin, Dumbarton and East Fife make up the rest of the league.

And proof of our Challenge Cup success over Stenhousemuir at Hampden Park.

The final month of 2013 saw us play six league games on the bounce as our unbeaten record was maintained some how. Rangers bagged 20 goals in the December month while conceding just seven.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/lQqWWMMA9benAU2qwwnldZqzW4i6UCWYCh4okBsf.jpg

And December kicked off with a trip to Bayview Stadium to entertain East Fife as Rangers ran out deserved 3-1 winners thanks to a treble from on loan QPR winger Ephraim. He will be missed when/if he returns to the R's.

We then stuttered to victory over Stenhousemuir with the only goal, coming from Sandaza in the twenty second minute.

Next up was a trip to Dumbarton and both teams put on a great advert for the Scottish Football League Second Division as the home side took a two goal lead before Sandaza pulled a goal back but Dumbarton made it 3-1 to the home side but the Spaniard yet again pulled a second goal back. Early in the second half it was 3-3 as Sandaza completed his hat-trick and the same man then added two more goals to his tally. It was a five star performance from the striker.

And the in-form striker kept up his form in the next game with a hat trick as Rangers thumped Ayr at Ibrox 4-1 - Aird, who was in for the injured Shiels, opened the scoring in the fifth minute before the Spanish striker stole the show with goals in the sixteenth, twenty fifth and sixty first minute.

Stranraer were up next as we secured the points against the bottom club with all the goals coming in the second period. Rangers had to wait until five minutes into the second half before Aird opened the scoring and then Little added a second, Cribari headed home a third before Aird's second completed the scoring.

December ended with a trip to Glebe Park as Brechin were beat 3-1. Templeton opened the scoring before Ephraim added a second and then Sandaza struck a third just before half time.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/pQCrknlOxRw3n7GU3VukYiK2W3B17N4EeM06nXwh.jpg

With January about to begin we have a fourteen point lead at the top of the table and clear of Ayr in second place while Stenhousemuir are third, ten points in front of Cowdenbeath who are in the final play-off spot.

Stranraer look all but set to the relegated to the third division as they're on five points, twelve points a float of Peterhead who have dropped to second bottom as Arbroath have hit some form and are third bottom. Brechin in fifth, East Fife in sixth and Dumbarton in seventh complete the league.

Yet again Rangers played six league matches as the New Year kicked off and started with four clean sheets.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/WIndOppmHK1AbFxRjOEHmfNZFX9CoIJ3osQi1USq.jpg

A trip to Gayfield Park started January as the Teddy Bears started a deserved three goal victory as Shiels netted our first goal of 2014 in the twenty eighth minute before Templeton added a second just before the hour mark and then left back Wallace added a third.

Two quick fire goals at the start of the game beat East Fife at Ibrox as Shiels and Sandaza both scored inside the opening four minutes, nothing else of note happened.

Cowdenbeath were then brushed away at Ibrox as a three goals to nil victory was started with a Cribari bundled effort before Sandaza doubled the lead just before half time and the star striker scored a third on fifty eight minutes.

Next up was a home game with Peterhead and we extended our hundred percent record against The Blue Toon as for the second game running Cribari opened the scoring in the 25th minute and then Ephraim added a second late on.

A quickfire double from Sandaza seen off Stenhousemuir in a poor performance on the road from the league leaders, the Spaniard scored in the forty fifth and forty ninth minute.

Dumbarton at home completed a good month as the hosts picked up a deserved 4-1 victory as Sandaza broke the deadlock in the fifth minute before Ephraim slotted home a second four minutes before half time. An own goal made it three and then a late penalty, from Shiels, made it four.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/SrArv80G9073jYvyJZiZcAouP116rsK0tte9YRPU.jpg

Rangers have now opened a twenty four point gap at the top of the Second Division and the Ibrox side move closer of the title ahead of Ayr who stay in second and are five points ahead of Stenhousemuir. Dumbarton in fourth are fourteen points behind the third place team.

Despite picking up a point Stranraer remain rooted to the bottom and are now nineteen points adrift of Peterhead. Cowdenbeath are now third bottom, level on points with Brechin who are slightly above them. Arbroath, who have hit some decent form have climbed to sixth level on points with fifth place East Fife and Dumbarton who are in the last play-off spot. Remarkable turn around from their manager.

I do hope we can rap up promotion as soon as possible so I can concentrate on trying to win the Scottish Cup, which would be remarkable for a second division side. I don’t think it’s possible but would be lovely if it happened, wouldn’t it?

A short month approached as we played just the four games this month as we undeservedly progressed to the final of the League Cup following a penalty success over Premier League side Hearts, we're still in the Scottish Cup too and we didn't concede in our two league games.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/qgjuDEq1NrBRIpoSCSsPI5X7RmRVm2XAPWpymoRB.jpg

The League Cup semi final started February and we made the final against the odds after a penalty success over Hearts. We were completely out played and we couldn't even muster a single effort on target in 120 minutes.

Our second game of the month was at home to Aberdeen and we advanced thanks to a 2-1 success as Sandaza broke the scoring at the end of the first half and then an own goal from Brown, twelve minutes from time sealed the passage.

We played our first league game of the month at Somerset Park and we brushed Ayr aside 3-0 with Sandaza opening the scoring on nine minutes and then in first half stoppage time Ephraim added a second before Sandaza added a third.

February ended with a five star performance against the bottom club Stranraer as a dream start saw us 2-0 up inside five minutes after Sandaza and Templeton struck, Sandaza added a third before Shiels added a fourth five minutes later - Sandaza completed his treble in the second half.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/arYx7BU73LGfnh7YwWyxG5MaoQkqEZu19peLyDVG.jpg

The league looks all but set and possibly another victory or two should seal it as we're twenty six points clear of Stenhousemuir who climbed above Ayr. Against the odds Arbroath have moved into the final play-off spot and are five points clear of Cowdenbeath.

Stranraer are heading down although it's not confirmed they're twenty one points adrift of second bottom Brechin. Peterhead are two points ahead of the Glebe Park side while East Fife and Dumbarton make up the league.

March saw us complete the league title following victory at home to Brechin City. Rangers also advanced in the Scottish Cup and also won the League Cup after winning 2-0 against Partick Thistle. We remained unbeaten in the league too.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/3c8hVukfayqZtngkJgMU9Y7QSiytKijzlfnaBl3k.jpg

Two own goals inside the opening half an hour sent us on the way to second division success at home to Brechin. McLean and Brown both put through their own nets and then Shiels slotted home a spot kick early in the second half and the victory and title was sealed in style when McCulloch added a fourth.

Ephraim's thirty sixth minute goal at Rugby Park was enough to secure victory in the Scottish Cup quarter final against Kilmarnock. It came at a cost as Sandaza picked up an injury that ruled out him for several weeks while Shiels also picked up a little injury.

With Sandaza out injured, young striker McKay came in and he scored his first two Rangers goals against East Fife away from home 2-0.

Next up was the League Cup final against Partick Thistle and we picked up the trophy thanks to a two goal victory, Templeton smashed home the opening goal just before the hour and then McCulloch sealed the victory late on.

We had to come from behind to pick up a home victory over Arbroath as we trailed, and deservedly so at half time but Herd and Ephraim both scored to turn the game around.

March ended with a 3-1 away success at Cowdenbeath, two goals in six first half minutes from Mbu who scored an own goal and Templeton put the away side in control and McKay sealed the points in the final minute.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/quIsF5Gf4biVPxKIFNuc8IZA26EyYojgp6SBLpuT.jpg

Two things happened this month that wasn't a suprise.

We secured the second division title as we went over thirty points clear ahead of Stenhousemuir who went into second place with Ayr and Arbroath making up the other play-off spot with five games left.

Despite picking up a second victory Stranraer were eventually relegated to the third division while one of East Fife, Dumbarton, Brechin, Cowdenbeath and perhaps Peterhead could still be relegated despite being up to fifth in the league.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/ZZ9yuckiRQZ4yxTEH7bXoQfu2PL3XFupbLQuTF0H.jpg

Conformation that we sealed the league against Brechin.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/YWz1kLqDALd6ejHXXSeZHjX9js6qH0krsaIjLhzD.jpg

And here is the League Cup success over Partick Thistle as Templeton and McCulloch sealed the trophy.

Since I have not updated this thread is quite a while, it's due an update.

http://i49.tinypic.com/35mpa2w.png

With my second season at Rangers coming to a close and a second straight promotion as Champions, April saw us play three league matches as we hoped to break the hundred points tally for the second season running while we played a thriller with bitter rivals Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi final.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/ForSk46gLJeBoJL6YaBg2KFtNvNrpKPFYmtLClvL.jpg

April started with a home encounter with Stenhousemuir as we ran out comfortable three goal winners - on-loan Herd, who looks like he won't be returning to Ibrox opened the scoring on thirteen minutes before Shiels doubled the lead before the twenty minute mark from the spot, left back Wallace added a third early in the second period.

Our second game was a trip to Peterhead and we maintained our excellent result over the Head as Herd yet again opened the scoring on four minutes before McKay sealed the points very late on.

And then came an absolute cracker against rivals Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi final as we ran out 5-2 winners after extra time. The SPL side opemed the scoring on five minutes whenever Kadlec beat Alexander and it stayed that way until first half stoppage time whenever Ephraim levelled, midfielder Hutton had given Rangers a seventy fourth minute lead but we were unable to hold on as Kadlec added his and Celtic's second twelve minutes from time.

The game took a dramatic turn early in extra time whenever Celtic were reduced to ten men as Wanyama was dismissed for two yellows and then a few minutes later Ephraim's second goal of the game had given Rangers the lead before an Israelsson own goal made it 4-2 and then young McKay added a fifth before Kayal also was sent for an early shower in extra time, first period stoppage time for a second yellow.

On a high from that Celtic victory we made the trip to Dumbarton and didn't cheer for long despite Ephraim giving us a fifth minute lead, Rangers couldn't hold on as former 'Ger Telfer levelled with two minutes remaining - it was a poor game to be honest, draw fair result.

We managed to break the hundred goals in a league season for the second season running, which is good. We're also thirty four points clear of second place Stenhousemuir with two league games remaining while Ayr and Arbroath have made up the play off spots.

Relegated Stranraer have had a terrible season with just three wins and five draws from thirty four games. It's a toss up between Brechin, Dumbarton, Cowdenbeath, Peterhead and even East Fife to see who avoids that dreaded relegation play off two leg affair.
