Sad thing is we have no one better, there are no spinners waiting in the wings and Clarke is the only batsman we have who can play spin. It's going to be 4-0 doesn't matter who plays.

Surely Lyon was a better choice in the team than replacing him with Maxwell though.

Lyon, Dohertey, Pattinson and any one of Siddle, Starc or Cummings (I think Cummings might be injured though) would surely be a better option and then have Maxwell as a spinning option instead of someone like Henriques.

I see what Australia tried to do, same thing as England did in the first test and said 'our strength is pace bowling, and Indian's play spin well, so picking spinners would help them' but we realised as you must have done that there's nothing in those pitches for pace bowlers (unless you can get the ball reverse swinging).

Still though, doesn't really help that only Clarke and Haddin have ever looked like being comfortable against spin, and Haddin is not playing.

Yeah Watson even said he got dropped because he "didn't do my homework".

When the players are referring to it as homework you know it's a joke, especially when 2 of them didn't play in the first two tests.
