I thought SR3 was a contender for game of the year.

It was like they knew everyone thought they were an arcadey GTA rip-off, so they really played on it and just over exaggerated everything. The thing is, that made for an immense game imo.

I love both though, so I'm not really fussed.

See, the first statement of yours is just plain wrong. A regular shitfest of ignorance. Ballad of Gay Tony was fantastic.

And by the "series" I mean the games on the consoles. I don't mean GTA 1, 2, or any of the handheld games.
And then yes, yes it is definitely the worst.

It was empty, shallow, overly silly. I hated CJ and most other characters. Felt like playing a big, horrible music video.

It's not a terrible game. Not even a bad game. It's just the worst GTA game.

I loved San Andreas. I suspect the fact that I enjoy early 90's gangsta rap and liked the films that it draws inspiration from might have something to do with that though.

in terms of fun mine would be VC,SA,4,3,
in terms of story 4, 3, VC, SA

Would love to go back and play Vice City again. Never actually owned it, only ever got to play it at friend's houses, but it was awesome.

Yeah, Vice City was the best. That and the original one. San Andreas I never played. 3 I can barely remember so it can't have been that good and 4 I couldn't enjoy mostly due to the port and because I basically just pissed around in it with my friend when I first got it and after that, playing it on my own didn't seem as entertaining. 2 was basically a slightly worse version of 1 if you never played them.

Ehh I loved the sillyness of it , as did a lot of people. Maybe cause when I played it when I was younger I don't know but I got a lot more enjoyment out of it then 4.

If they made a new game with a setting similar to Vice City it would be so so good.

VC was fucking class. The soundtrack, the similarities with Scarface etc, just loved it.

Really enjoyed GTA4 too.

Vice City > GTA 3 > GTA San Andreas/GTA IV

Vice City was by far my favourite, i loved the entire theme of the game, the settings, the story and the music. In terms of hours played i think the GTA series of games comes behind FIFA for myself which is a serious amount of hours and i think i got more enjoyment out of those hours with Vice City.

GTA IV wasn't bad at all but it felt stripped of a few things that made GTA great and went to serious which is fine but when im used to doing taxi missions, putting out fires and delivering Pizza, im issed those side missions. GTA San Andreas was again good but i just didn't like how far they went with some area's of it. Although, the scale and the diversity of the islands was immense.
