I'm trying my best Gendo, think we might have gone up to quickly based on this though. Thanks for your support

t sure is Dan. I'm not used to this usually I mess up the playoffs at the top of the table not the bottom!

The Penultimate month awaits and its a crucial one for the Borderers. We've slipped dramatically from the top of the table right to the bottom in rapid style and with just four games remaining we now face a very serious fight for our Championship status.

Nervous times in Northumberland.

Crucial month, terrible start. Livingston have already secured the automatic relegation spot leaving ourselves, Raith and today's opponents Dunfermline to try and avoid the play-off spot. With a small lead over them all we needed to do was avoid defeat today but a scrappy game saw them run out one goal winners and put our season straight into danger. Three games remaining we're up against it now.

Alloa are sitting pretty watching the dog fight below pan out but they certainly weren't going to do us any favours this time around holding on to a point in a game which did little to advertise the quality of the Scottish Championship. We've struggled to get the ball forward of late and combined with our still worryingly leaky defence its not making for comfortable viewing at this stage of the season.

Aberdeen are all but back in the Premiership but saw fit to push us further away from those dizzying heights with a cruel victory in front of our despondent fans. A fortunate Lee Currie penalty had seemed to secure us a much needed point against the run of play but we couldn't hold out for the final twelve minutes throwing it away by conceding a poor goal with only five of them remaining.

Oh Dear.

With just one solitary game remaining in May we look the favourites to be thrown into a fight for survival in the relegation play-offs. With Raith and Dunfermline now sitting two points ahead of us we can by all means still manage to fight out of this but with our current poor form and a string of errors blighting morale its going to be a big ask to salvage some form of safety.

Our fate this season comes down to this final game in May.

With three teams all desperately scrambling to try and avoid the relegation play-off spot we needed to pull a result out of the bag to save ourselves from the dreaded playoffs.

Well that's it then. In fitting style for the season we end it without putting up any resistance what so ever. Cowdenbeath are set for the playoffs at the other end of the table and having taken a quick two goal lead within the first half they made sure that the final game of the season would send them off in morale boosting fashion. A convincing loss and only three shots on target. Worrying times.

In the end our result proved to have no baring on how the league would pan out, as both Raith and Dunfermline pick up a victory to leave us high and dry in the relegation playoff spot. A disappointing way to end the season and we've still got a whole series of playoff games to get through as we look to cling on to our place in the Championship.

Do or die time.

Here's hoping Dan, it has to be good for something right?

The playoffs are quickly upon us as three of the best from League One look set to try and over throw us and claim our spot in Scotland's second tier.

Having spent just one season away from them, we face familiar opponents in the shape of Stirling. They will prove to be a formidable obstacle to get past and having beaten them just the once in our promotion season we know its not going to be easy.

First blood the Borderers. Our two remaining Scottish first team members once again came to the clubs rescue. The ever reliable finisher, Lavery opened the scoring with captain, Lee Currie sealing the deal in the second half. We couldn't make it a convincing victory however as Stirling made sure to keep their hopes alive with a goal to reduce the deficit.

In-front of our largest crowd of the season we sealed the deal much to the delight of nearly 2500 fans at Shielfield Park. Once again it was our club icon, Darren Lavery who would do the honours smashing home a game winning goal in the second half to put the game well out of reach of Stirling and cement himself as a fan favourite.

Our final game of the season is a must win game for the Borderers. With the finances now reliant on Championship status having turned professional and with a team who will settle for nothing less then Championship quality wages we have to win to keep the club afloat.

Between us and safety stand a team who have closely followed our own meteoric rise. Queens Park. The Semi-Professional Spiders have been one step behind us on the road up the leagues but now stand just two games away from over taking us in the race to the Premier league.

First blood to the minnows. In front of another bumper crowd we throw away the advantage, gifting Queens Park the opening goal following a shocking goal mouth scramble. It was a lead they greedily held on to, frustrating our wingers with some solid defending on the flanks and leaving our usual saviour, Darren Lavery helpless as we slip to a potentially disastrous defeat.

A nerve shredding game at the home of Scottish football finally saw us show what we are capable of. The new face of our English revolution, youth product Andy Vaughan led the charge drawing us level twice following an equaliser from former Celtic man, Anthony Stokes but it was to be the ever reliable and much praised, Darren Lavery who would once again save the club scoring the only goal of extra time to maintain our place in the Championship.

For the first time under my management we end the season without any awards. Hardly surprising given that we wound up second from bottom of the league. We hardly gave a good account of ourselves in our first season in the Championship but when looking at Livingstons predicament it could have been a hell of alot worse. Fortunately for us it looks like the league could potentially be slightly easier next season as too of the leagues heavyweights, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock make their return to the top flight.

Life in the Championship has thus far been brutal upon us but with another season drawing ever closer we are keen to make amends for our sluggish start.

Thanks Dan, atleast I can win some form of play-offs.

So was I Gendo, kind of made my achievements pale in comparison when the AI can do that.

Its fair to say our introduction to life in the Championship wasn't exactly a positive one.

Having scraped our way to surviving and watching our team fall apart on numerous occasions we welcomed the end of season and a chance to add some much needed strength to our squad.

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f139/LoneRFM/Tran18-1.png

First port of call is to once again ship out our remaining non-English players with us reducing the numbers by a further four, leaving just two left in the team.

Joining them out the exit door was Luke Varney and Banjo both being released at the end of their contracts but the biggest move came with the departures of our two former in form wingers, Bonnett-Johnson and Leahy. Both made incisive moves from the flanks in League One but fell well short of the mark in the Championship and we had no room for those who couldn't match the grade. Its going to be a ruthless window.

With space in the first team now completely wide open we lept into action as we look to bring in some quality English talent.

New season and new strategy for the Borderers. We got bulled in the middle of the field last season and in an attempt at stopping it we've opted to go for a new 4-5-1 formation. First arrival to get this new era underway is former Stevenage player, Dean Parrett. An all round central midfielder, able to find a crucial pass and win back the ball he is going to make an instant impact this season as a bullish midfielder.

Another one for our bulked out midfield, Jason Smith was released by Tottenham at the end of his contract and jumped at the opportunity to add some experience to his CV. The young midfielder is going to be a key part this season and will be out main man as we look to win back the ball. He will undoubtedly spend a good deal of time covering the entire pitch but with his stamina and strength he'll make his presence felt throughout the pitch. A true work horse.

Alexander McQueen was one of only a few players who came out of last season with his head held high and will remain our starting right-back in the coming season but he will be under some serious pressure from former Everton product James Yates. As a strong defensive presence he will be a formidable wing back at this level and hopefully well into the Premier League.

Another product from Everton, Michael Donohue is a bit of a coup for the team. At just Twenty One he is already drawing attention as potentially one of the leading right midfielders in this division. With a wicked cross, a good eye for the through ball and the physical ability to give defenders nightmares he is set to tear things up in this league. The first team spot is his for the taking and we're keen to unleash him in Scotland.

If you haven't guessed already, we have been raiding the scrap-heap of the Premier League and another gem emerges in the shape of Marc Bola. My staff absolutely love this guy and the former Arsenal youngster certainly looks like he will one day easily boss our centre of defence. Already possessing the ability of most of his elders Bola will be keen to force his way into the starting line-up from day one. Naylor and Dunkley should be worried.

Another superb capture for the club has us snap up former Manchester United and Leicester wide-man, Jack Barmby. Having never been given a fair crack at the top-flight with the Foxes he is bursting to return to the fray of first team football and a spot on the team-sheet with Berwick proved to be more then enough to temp the attacking winger, North of the border. Another player to give Championship defenders sleepless nights..

Ben O'Hanlon is our current starting left-back but has failed to solidify his spot in the team with a mixed debut season in Northumberland and with the signing of former Arsenal and Reading defender Ormonde-Ottewill he is definitely going to be under some pressure. The nippy wing back has the potential to add to our attacking options down the flanks and will look to make a big impact from the bench this season.

Our stand-out singing of the season has us eventually land Ruben Loftus-Cheek. The former Chelsea prodigy made Eight appearance for the Blues before his time under Mourinhio eventually ran out. Once heralded as a star product from Chelseas academy he has fallen fairly rapidly from grace following loan spells with Accrington and Crewe but a chance to restart his progress at the heart of our team will soon have him back up to speed.

The busiest transfer window to date for the Borderers and the club once again has made some drastic changes as the English revolution marches ever onwards.

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f139/LoneRFM/18-19-0-1.png

Now down to just two remaining non-English players. Fittingly it is our two leading stars from our campaigns throughout both League Two and One, Lee Currie and Darren Lavery, Both have played out of their skins to drag the club up to its current dizzying height and despite being surrounded by their Southern neighbours in the dressing room they still feature in and around the first team on a regular basis.

The only cause of concern for the team-sheet comes from the lack of forwards with only the above mentioned Lavery and our very own Home-grown talent, Andy Vaughan being able to ply their trade in the strikers positions. With a lack of talent available and only veteran striker, Carlton Cole presenting us with a viable option, its time to hope that our midfield can provide some goals.

New formation, New teamsheet, New season.

Lets get going,

The non league minnows have done nothing for us throughout their time linked to us but a three goal victory atleast kept morale sky high as we raced towards the start of the season. Another strong showing all be it against a League One side in Dumbarton but a goal from young Andy Vaughan at least eased worries about him being our starting striker in the season to come. Theirs alot of pressure on the young mans shoulders but he is looking very much up to the task. With Hearts and Aberdeen both keeping tabs on him this could be a huge season for our home-grown finisher.

We round off proceedings with another traditional game as we run out winners against another non-league English team, this time in the shape of Gainsborough. A goal from Alex Kitchen ensured he kept his name in the running for the starting line-up despite now having three brand new competitors for his central role in our defence. Competition for a starting spot this season is fierce.

All in all a great pre-season for the Borderers. We kicked things off by showing the Premier League we are ready to mix it with the big boys and held on to some decent results throughout, conceeding just the one goal in five games.

It could be luck, it could be the new formation, it could be the cider I've been steadily drinking but either way I've got a good feeling about this season.

Our defence again holds on to another clean sheet, whilst our fluid midfield tears through Falkirks ranks, picking up a goal for central midfielder, Dean Parrett and left midfielder, Jack Barmby as they go. A great result and another boost to our unexpected promotions push.

Alloa are really struggling in the league but managed to upset the leagues over achievers holding us to a two goal draw. The game was lifeless in the first half but as soon as the second started all hell broke loose with both teams finding the back of the net four times in eight minutes, including two goals for the Borderers within seconds of one another. A bizarre game but a valuable point.

Dundees return to the top flight is failing miserably with them struggling to match the early pace setters. Games against ourselves should have had them running our clear winners but with morale and form all over the shop they seem to be wanting this season over already. Our defence added to their frustrations keeping their attacking players out with ease as they continue to show why they are the most steadfast in the league.

I'm genuinely struggling to understand just how we have been able to turn from a relegation battling team last season into a promotion chasing team with the best defensive record in the league but non the less its certainly enjoyable. A five goal thrashing of second place Cowdenbeath continued our run of good fortune with a hat-trick for our young prodigy Andy Vaughan capping a superb all round display. We're actually building a steady lead here.

Andy Vaughan has taken on the role of lone striker and made it his own with some superb displays. He is already playing well beyond his years, out muscling defenders and winning crucial headers. He looks like he has got plenty more left in the tank and with us seemingly looking at a place in the Premier League he could soon see himself truly tested.

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f139/LoneRFM/November18-2.png

Approaching the half way point of the season we are still yet to beaten and have managed to accumulate a six point lead at the top of the table. Absolutely incredible. At this rate we should have the league in the bag come Valentines day but we're making sure we keep a level head. Its been an unbelievable start for us but having now got ourselves in the position to potentially claim promotion we are determined to make the most of it.

This is the kind of save that excites me!!! I tried to get Elgin City to the SPFL but failed - so I know how patient and determined you have to be to pull a save of like this! Going to be very interesting if you get promoted and going to be exciting to see what type of players you can attract

To be honest Johno I was surprised we were even able to start a streak so god knows what is going to happen.

Thanks Kez, yeah I was amazed they actually got relegated. Loftus-Cheek has been solid so far. Not exactly any stand-out performances but he is more then holding his own. Absolutely terrible at free-kicks though. I know that for sure.

Cheers again Dan. Ever upwards hopefully.

It feels very strange Gendo, fingers crossed!

Thanks leegee. I tried it last year the exact same way and by this point I was stuck as a Semi-Pro team, leaking money and spiralling quickly back to where I started, fortunately it seems a lot more steady this time around. Might be worth another shot.

Thanks for the support Gents, really do appreciate it

Having welcomed them to the league with an unexpected thrashing Rangers attempts at salvaging some pride in the rematch results in only a goalless draw as we share the spoils. It was a dull game with neither side willing to push for victory in fear of each others rapid counter-attacks, however another point against a former giant of the game is not to be shrugged at.

Another draw and another boring affair for the fans. This time we couldn't overcome a struggling Ross County, despite fielding our usual first team. On the back of our recent form this was certainly a disappointing result but at least we remain on course to end the year unbeaten. Having bagged a hat-trick in the final game of last month it was hoped Vaughan might hit a vein of goal scoring form. Unfortunately it seems not.

Another draw. Our unbeaten streak is currently hanging on by the skin of its teeth. A penalty and a goal ten minutes from time for Andy Vaughan salvages this one as we manage to fend off Raith. Our position at the top of the table is certainly looking more shaky every game, its not been exactly a dominant unbeaten streak that is for sure.

Another draw. Four on the bounce and our eleventh in just nineteen games. We need to remember how to get the job done in these games but as things stand at the minutes its taking a good deal of luck just to hold on to a solitary point. The game exploded into life in the second half with Raith taking a two goal lead but to our credit we fought back all be it with a fortunate own goal.

And its over. Twenty games into the season and we are finally beaten. Truth be told its been a long time coming and to be completely honest I'm not all that disappointed. By this point our unbeaten streak was resulting in some rather cautious games as we tried desperately not to drop points rather then going for the victory. Hopefully now we can bounce back and push for the points.

And bounce back we did. Queen of the South are sitting nicely in the play-off spots but a resurgent Berwick thrashed them by four goals. Andy Vaughan hits another hat-trick as he continues to impress in his first full season as a starting striker. Our teenage hit-man is quickly living up to his potential and is almost destined to be an absolute star. Either way this boy is set for the Premier League, we can only hope its in a Berwick shirt.

An absolute sensation and certainly one for the future. Having broken into the England under-nineteens team, Vaughan is now very much under the spot-light. A few of the Scottish Premier League teams have already taken a very long look at our own youth product and it won't be long until some of Europes best come knocking for him. Fingers are firmly crossed that our rapid rise up the leagues matches young Vaughans level of ambition.

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f139/LoneRFM/December18-4.png

Having arrived as a back-up left back, Ormode-Ottewill has quickly set about making sure his name jumps to the top of the team-sheet. Having only been introduced following an injury to O'Hanlon he has taken his opportunity like a true professional, stepping up the plate with ease and defying his young years.

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f139/LoneRFM/December18-2.png

We might have only lost just one game but with a shed-load of draws and just nine-victories we are suddenly on the back foot. A determined Rangers have finally started to turn their season around as their expected return to the top flight starts to materialise. Fortunately for us we have a superb defensive record and a goal difference to match. There is still plenty to play for following our spotless start.

Indeed, I've not had a run of form like this before, not exactly dominating.

Another year comes around for the Borderers and following a near perfect start to the season we go into 2019 knowing that we remarkably have a chance at topping the table. Time to see if this is just good fortune or an impressive turn in form.

We get the new year off with a massive bang. Poor Alloa are sinking without a trace and our rampant midfield are more then willing to take advantage. Andy Vaughan took the spoils as the lofty teenager rose the highest from a series of crosses by the ever impressive wingers who helped themselves to three goals of there own to leave Shielfield Park in raptures.

Dundee have finally started to mount there own push for promotion. Having dropped down the league with Rangers they too have struggled in the early stages of the season but both look set to be well in the running come the end of the season. The game was another that only came into life in the second half and thankfully two of our seasons leading stars, Vaughan and Barmby proved to be enough to hold on to a point.

Andy Vaughan is still finding the back of the net like he's been doing it all his life. The teenager is proving to take to life in the Championship with complete ease and is quickly replacing Darren Lavery as the new fan favourite. With the added pressure of now being a lone front-man the pressure was certainly on but its paying off big time for the Borderers with a solo goal against Ross County adding to his impressive tally.

Our second loss of the season and our first at home. Having gone almost half of the season without a loss, result like this are still proving to be somewhat of a shock for the Berwick faithful. Its easy to forget just how surprising our current league standing is with the club battling at the top of the table after just over one season in the league, non the less a loss to our title chasing rivals is a big dent to our hopes of clinging on to this lofty position.

Rangers are currently on their best run of the season and have quickly become the favourites to claim the title, however we managed to fortunately snatch a point late into the game courtesy of our ever reliable midfielder Loftus-Cheek. The former Chelsea man has taken over from club legend, Lee Currie and has filled his boots very well, providing some solid displays and largely running the show in the middle of the pitch.

He is tearing this league to pieces, which is fantastic for our hopes of an unexpected promotion, however it comes with the unwanted attention of a whole host of top end clubs. So far Vaughan is happy to stay with the club and has a lengthy contract for the next 3 seasons, how long he remains happy with it remains to be seen.

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f139/LoneRFM/January19-4.png

The biggest arrival in our transfer window pays off with a monthly award for Loftus-Cheek. Largely he keeps his head down in the middle of the field, running the show without drawing to much attention to himself with some hard working and diligent displays, however in the turn of the year he finally appears to have drawn the recognition he deserves.

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f139/LoneRFM/January19-2.png

We're back on top as we barrel towards the end of the season. Cowdenbeath and Rangers remain hot on our heals , with even Dundee joining in to what is going to be a frantic finale to the season. Our start of season might have caught them off guard but we are now fighting for the title with all we have, praying for the end of season.

Dunfermline are struggling in the Championship and look set for another season toying with relegation back to League One, however they managed to have some say in the race for the title, holding us to a frustrating draw despite wingers, Donohue and Barmby both firing us into the lead. That's more like it. The midfield got this one started as Parrett and Loftus-Cheek both picked up a goal each within the opening ten minutes, with Naylor and the ever impressive Vaughan adding to the score-sheet as we claimed a much needed and impressive Victory. With three teams all eager and willing to push us out of the automatic spot results like this need to come thick and fast.

Despite picking up just four points from a possible nine, we remain a-top of the table. Its going to be a tough ask to keep the chasing pack at bay but none of us expected to even be in this position come the business end of the season. We are determined to cap this already remarkable season, a play-off spot is the bare minimum now. We are going all out to enter the Premier League.

Thats the way. Every game counts right now, in our attempts at somehow out running the recently relegated duo of Rangers and Dundee. Another important victory. Alloa are all but in League One having flopped all season and we soon added another nail to their coffin with three well placed goals. Naylor smashed home another from a well worked set-piece, whilst tricky right winger, Donohue turned on the style to score a fine solo effort and a thumped half volley. Three more for the tally. As long as we're not losing we cant be caught.

Well that didn't help. Our final chance at distancing ourselves from Dundee resulted in disappointment as a goal three minutes from time scuppered our plans. We gave them as good as we got and looked set to take a well earned point following a gritty game against the rapidly climbing Dees but we just couldn't close out the game conceding an uncharacteristic sloppy goal to leave Shielfield Park in silence.

Donohue has been dominating left backs for the entire season and is rapidly developing into a star player. His drive and determination make him crucial to just about ever attacking move we make, with only Jack Barmby able to match him for pace. The duo have proved to be a huge influence on our incredible season and have made Andy Vaughan's debut season one to remember with a hat full of assists.

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f139/LoneRFM/March19-2.png

That one result against Dundee proved to be pivotal as they finally overhaul us and kick us out of the automatic spot after just two months. To their credit Dundee have absolutely shot up the league, tearing teams apart as they mount a determined push for the top flight. Having won every game this month we can only sit-back and admire as they romp towards the end of season.

Cowdenbeath have been left behind by the rest of the automatic chasing teams but still remain determined to claim a play-off spot. It looks like we are certainly about to overthrow them as the best Rangers in the country.

I can't overstate just how important this young lad has been for the club. At just seventeen years of age Vaughan has emerged as not only our lead striker but as one of the best in the League, if not the entire country. A place in the England youth setup is well deserved and he continues to draw attention from across Europe. Contract negotiations need to be done quickly if were to hold on to our man.

Back on top following an unbeaten month, all be it by goal-difference alone. Our impressive defensive record has us Eighteen goals ahead of Dundee but it comes down to just one final game to round off this incredible season. We need to only better or match Dundees result to ensure us of a spot in Scotlands top flight. Its a massive fixture and one that will have a massive impact upon the future of the Wee Rangers.
