Well done qualifying in second place mate, Juventus will be a tough tie! Still competitive at the top of the league table mate as well as going to the capital one cup final! well done!

It's looking good, i actually finished the last match of the next update period this morning before leaving for work so i didn't have any time to post an update, all i'll say is that February and March pretty much sum up our whole season

Right so we come to the penultimate update of the 2017 / 18 season with the January transfer window closed and with Everton not doing any business (well for the first team, youth development brought 1 or 2 players but nothing worthy of a mention).

Now I'm going to admit it now before i go any further, this has been the most infuriating 2 months in all my time as Everton manager, we've done alright in terms of results but we've been awful 80% of the time, getting victories were we shouldn't have, I mean i know i shouldn't be complaining but in one match against Wolves we had 30 odd shots, made 6-7 clear cut chances and only had 4 shots on target but managed to scrape a 1-0 which came from a 20 yard hopeful long shot rather than from putting away the decent chances we made and our form has been so inconsistent.

http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j349/Zeonflux/FM13 Everton/Everton_FixturesSchedule-3.png

We started the period off with an 8-1 thrashing of Sunderland in which we also hit the post twice and had a legitimate goal disallowed and followed it up by struggling to a 2-2 draw against City, in which they scored their second goal after we had a player sent off.

We then struggled to convert out chances against Chelsea before dicking City when they we playing with a better starting line up. In the Champions League we got a great 1-0 win over Juventus and then he 3 ok results against Leicester, West Ham and Swansea before losing Juventus 4-2 which sent us out on aggregate.

I wasn't happy about how we went out to Juventus not only did we not convert enough of our chances but we had a goal disallowed and the whole of my defensive side of the team (back 3 and GK) had an absolute shitter, i replaced the GK and 1 CB at half time, when it was 2-1 to Juventus, knowing that if we kept it at that we were through, then Fierro scored and we were going on but they scored and 3rd and then we had our 3rd disallowed and then finaly they scored the hammer blow and sent us out.

We ended this awful period by again showing how good the team is when we bother to put our chances away and defend properly by destroying a good Swansea side 7-1 to send us through to the FA Cup Semis before showing the Mr Hyde side of the team to lose 1-0 to a Wolves side we've already beaten.

Table wise i'm guted to say that if we had won the Wolves game like we should have they we would have retained our position in the top spot but we didn't and so we are in 2nd but we're comfortably clear of 3rd.

Oh and we had our second cup success with our 1-0 win over Wolves in the Capital One Cup!

Looks like some great results there, particularly the 7-0 against Man City, and as a Newcastle fan, its always nice to see Sunderland on the wrong end of a heavy scoreline so 8-1 makes me very happy! Unlucky with the CL, but the results don't look bad. Good luck with the last 8 games, I'm sure you will get back to the top of the table. There's only a point between you!

Cheers for the support Alex! :thumb:

League:

Right i'll get this out of the way first, we had the chance to win the league and well we blew it, can't say anything else about it we just blew it, lost games against Arsenal and Liverpool we should have won and then 3 sloppy goals all from defensive or goal keeping mistakes cost us at least a point against United themselves.

http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j349/Zeonflux/FM13 Everton/Everton_FixturesSchedule-4.png

So a combination of our poor results / performances and United's great run in form we finished in a disappointing (compared to what we could have done) but still incredible 2nd.

I holidayed the Stoke game as United had won the league before we played it and i knew City couldn't catch us.

FA Cup:

As we found out in the last update we were into the FA Cup semi final and we would be playing West Brom who have become a sort of bogey team for me, with anything more than a point against them considered a bonus as we always seem to play shit.

But we picked ourselves up after the 3-2 defeat to Arsenal and battered them 7-1 and it could of been a lot more were it not for their keeper Ben Foster. This of course meant that for a second time this year we were gonna be heading to London for a Cup final at Wembley and in true FM style our opposition would be the same team that we lost to before the Semis....The Gunners.

The final was a real attacking game for us with Arsenal trying to hit on the counter, unfortunately for us Fellaini got injured a 2 games before it so we missed him.

We took the lead in the 39 minute thanks to a Destro wonder goal, which he waltzed past 2 defenders ran diagonally through the box before placing it in the corner of the goal he had just come from past the rushing keeper. They then scored from a good cross less than 60 seconds later.

The game then went to extra time after we had a goal disallowed, and our keeper took a free kick from halfway inside our half and smashed it straight to their midfielder in the edge of the center circle in their half and bang 2-1 Gunners. with time running out we pushed for an equalizer and in the 118 minute wonderkid Konjar smacks one in and my tea goes fucking everywhere.

And so the dreaded penalty shootout is how the 2017/18 FA Cup final was decided:

O'Toole you beauty, the regen from the Everton youth ranks wins us the Cup with 2 great saves!

So in 3 Wembley visits with Everton the score is Everton 3 Opposition 0.

Other business:

I forgot to mention that during the 3rd season we got brought by a local business man, he's not a sugar daddy or a tycoon and he didn't give me any extra funds but the club had a £105M debt from the purchase and was worth around £145M-£150M i've just noticed that Everton is now worth $605M with a debt of £93M so not bad going, the youth facilities has been upgraded twice and the training facilities have been upgraded once.

Also i've just accepted the England job after Brendan Rodgers was fired for not getting out of the group at the 2018 World Cup.

Finally:

The final part of this post is about where i feel the club needs to go next. Since my arrival the only player i've signed over 25 has been Toby Alderweireld and that's it the rest of the team are very young and i think this is causing me problems with some matches as the player lack the experience to win the must win matches and so i've brought in two players capable of doing that and of pushing the side into the top spot for next year.

The first has been fantastic in the Premiership since i started this career and until the start of the 2017/18 season wasn't vaguely interested in Everton but once i saw him appear on my player search, after the unrealistic players were removed, myself and Everton FC are proud to bring you:

The second player has been the best player in his league for the past 3 seasons and has been great at international level and i had to sweet talk the agent to get him after becoming unhappy at his club, personally i don't think he knows were Everton is but hey who cares, please welcome:

These two are great aquasitions for the club and will hopefully bring in some t-shirt money. I'm thinking of using both as AMR and AML respectively and hopefully we'll dominate the goals tally this season.

I had a total of £34M to spend and payed £17.5M upfront for Neymar and the rest over 48 months and then, £10M up front for Wilshere and the rest over 48 months, i had enough left over after changing the wage bill to try for Bale but after the refused a total of £50M i gave up

Fair enough then! Good signings though, I'm sure that they will massively improve the side and provide some of that much needed experience! Looking forward to seeing your next season!

Hopefully they will do just that, Pre-season has been looking good, got a game against Inter, Barca and Real Madrid to see how good we are. Madrid are current Champions of Europe

Good league finish buddy, form wasn't brilliant come the end but good to see you finish second and win the FA CUP! Big money on the two signings though!

Basically as the title suggests this is the last post on this career, this is mainly due to the complete absurdity that is FM13.

After 4-5 seasons of getting fucked over by the game, where the tactics have been ignored by my players and they do whatever the fuck they want, the opposition teams being able to somehow learn my tactic and stop it from working to the point where i can't beat a team in league 2, but my team are unable to counter a tactic that teams have been using since i started the career.

Man Utd have been using a 4-5-1 (DMC, 2CM and 2W) and no matter the formation i use or whether it is attacking, counter or whatever they almost always beat me and always dominate possession, and shots regardless of their starting 11. I stopped halfway through a season and tried out various formations against Man Utd and after 15 games the closest i got was 3-1 to them, i played the exact formation they played and they had 23 shots where as i had 3 and only 1 was on target.

The game as it stands now is fucking awful any game that you may actually win you get screwed over by apparent offside goals that are disallowed when the scorer is miles onside and then you get goals disallowed for apparent fouls that don;t happen, and then in one match that i was testing against Utd i hit the woodwork twice with 2 players in the box and both times the ball bounced clear away from both of them and Utd clear, in 4 different matches Utd hit the woodwork and the ball immediately landed at the feet of their only player in the box and rather than any of my players attempt to got towards the ball let alone tackle that player, they stood by while hit put the ball in the net.

People will respond to this and say that i'm quitting because there's no "Super Tactic" or because i'm not very good and so on but, fuck em i have never used a "Super Tactic" and i've never said i was any good, hell i've been playing FM or CM since CM 1999/2000 and i'd never won the Champions league until FM 2011 and that was thanks to a lucky penalty, My problem isn't that i can't win it's that the amount, consistency and scale of the flaws with the game outweigh the enjoyment i'm getting from playing it.

If the tactical "learning" the AI teams do to understand the players tactics worked the same and the AI players were as inconsistant as often as the players team then fine but they aren't and before anyone says that's what the talk to opposition players things does, then your a fucking idiot cause in the 4-5 seasons i've been playing no manager has ever commented directly about my player being the dangerman or anything like that and they still play like shit, so why should i have to do it to the opposition players to get them to play shit.

Anyway until they make some major changes that actually debuff the overly rated AI tactics and decrease the rate of player inconsistency, as well as sorting out the STILL evident gaping problems with the ME then i shall be staying on my recently re-downloaded copy of FM12
