New Swansea manager David Beckham has moved quickly to persuade Swan's supermo Huw Jenkins to open his cheque book in order to bring two of his former England under-21 charges to the Liberty stadium ahead of the new season.
Highly rated eighteen year old's Will Hughes and Luke James were both regulars under Beckham for the young lions and will be excited by the prospect of been given Premiership football next season.

Highly rated winger Hughes arrives from Derby for a fee believed to be around £7M after winning the Championship young player of the year gong last season. James signs from Hartlepool United after scoring 19 goals for Pool last season as well as nine goals in 14 games for Beckham's U21's, He joins for an initial fee of £1.4M which may rise to £2.5M depending on various conditions such as league appearances, goals and International caps.

It is rumored that Beckham has also made an approach for Middlesbrough's Jason Steel who was England's regular goalkeeper during Beckham's reign. Speculation has also linked the Swans with American play maker Clint Demsey who has struggled to establish himself at Tottenham following last years switch from Fulham.

Liverpool record signing Andy Carroll has joined Swansea City on a season long loan.
Carroll joined the Reds for a club record fee of £35M from Newcastle in 2011 but failed to find the sort of form he exhibited at Newcastle and was promptly relegated to the reserves and later loaned to West Ham where he score eleven goals in 31 games last season.

He now joins David Beckham's Swansea side on a season long loan with the Welsh club paying half of his £80k per week wages, Swansea also have the option to buy Carroll at any time for just £4M, £31M less than what Liverpool paid for the England target man.
Carroll will see this as a good chance to get his career going again after becoming something of a figure of ridicule since his big money move to Anfield.

Swansea have also confirmed they have reached an agreement with Arsenal for one of Beckham's former England U21 players, full back Carl Jenkinson who will also arrive at the Liberty Stadium on a season long loan with the option to buy. Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Amos may also hook up with the Swans as cover for Dutchman Michael Vorm after a deal for Middlesbrough's Jason Steel fell through.

7 mil for the youngster, hope he turns out like a real you. I am not a big fan of Carroll but if he get back into he scoring ways he might be a bargan to sign for 4 mil (if you can affort his wage). Jenkinson is an good talent.

Season Preview
It's all change again in South Wales as Swansea welcome in a new manger for the fourth consecutive season. Roberto Martinez, Brendon Rogers and Michael Laudrup have all received high praise for their work at the Liberty stadium, however the club seems unable to hold it's managers attention as they have all moved on after relativity short tenures.
Swans supporters will be hoping that their latest appointment, England legend David Beckham, will stick around a while and help restore some stability at the club after Laudrup departed for German giants Bayern Munich.

Beckham arrived after a fairly torrid time with the England under-21 side at the European championship in Israel back in June, His management style with the youngsters however was highly praised, In particular penchant for giving players from outside the Premiership a chance and being able to get the best from them.
Some of those youngsters have already found their way to the Liberty with Will Hughes arriving from Derby County for a club record fee of £7.5M, Hughes is a highly rated left winger who collect the Championship young player of the year award last season as well as representing his country fifteen times under Beckham. It remains to be seen how the eighteen year old will cope with the weight of expectation heaped on him by his rather inflated transfer fee.
Luke James, also 18, should find himself with more time to develop after completing his more modest move from Hartlepool United for £2M, James was a revelation last season, impressing for both club and for Beckham's England, scoring nine goals in twelve appearances for the Three Lions, including a brace in the 4-1 demolition of Scotland.

Also incoming are Norwich pair Simeone Jackson and Ryan Bennett who cost a combined £5.5M, Canadian Simeone appears to have fallen victim to circumstance, a week after having signed for Michael Laudrup he found himself being shipped out to Celtic by Beckham who clearly doesn't see what the Dane did in the 26 year old. Bennett, a commanding center back is charged with the unenvious task of replacing Ashley Williams who has joined Everton for almost £10M, at the heart of the Swans defense, Another of Beckham's U21 stars, Bennett helped Norwich to their 11th place finish last season, making 31 appearances in the process.

But undoubtedly the biggest new name in South Wales is that of Andy Caroll who arrives on a season long loan, the big forward will be desperate to prove himself again after a miserable time at Anfield. If Beckham can get Carroll, still just 24, firing again then the £4M permanent deal clause will look mighty attractive.
Also arriving from Anfield is Jay Spearing, Spearing spent last season on loan at Bolton where he impressed despite the Trotters suffering a second successive relegation, playing every game of the league season , a combative midfielder who should add some grit to the Swansea midfielder, as should another Merseyside import in Darron Gibson who signs from Everton for £3.4M.

Some might say it is best to get the toughest games out of the way first, but they could easily find themselves cut adrift in the relegation zone after those fixtures unless they pull of an upset or two among them. Ryan Bennett's credentials as a replacement to Ashley Williams will be examined.

That is a hard start of the season. I rather start with the easier team and have some points under the belt.

David Beckham saw his new Swansea side go down to a hard working Newcastle despite being leading through debutante Andy Carroll.
Beckham named three new faces in his first eleven with Jay Spearing, Will Hughes and Carroll all starting for the first time in the white shirt of Swansea.

Two of the new boys combined to give Swansea the lead against the run of play after 17 minutes when Carroll got on the end of a beautifully delivered Will Hughes through ball which sliced the magpies defense in two, Carroll made no mistake in applying a well placed finish past Toon keeper Tim Krul but kept his celebrations muted out of respect for his former employers.

Newcastle struck back two minutes before the break when Jonas's initial shot from ten yards was blocked by Ashley Richards, however the ball fell kindly into the path of Danish forward Andreas Cornelius who tapped in from a yard out to send the teams in for half time tied at 1-1.
The home side wasted no time at all in snatching the lead, Just two minutes after the restart when Cornelius's long ball was chested down by Senegalese strike Papis Cisse who sprinted free of marker Michael Dawson before dispatching an inch perfect shot across Michael Vorm to put the Magpies into what proved to be a decisive lead.

It was a very great and funny interview with Becks Good to see Giggs alongside Beckham again I think Swans' a tough choice to Beckham for first, but i hope he will reach a better position than 15th with the team. Unlucky against N'Castle :/

Manchester City showed their title credentials with an impressive display against Swansea at the Liberty stadium this afternoon.
Despite a spirited performance from the Swans the game was effectively over by half time as Roberto Mancini's men repeatedly capitilised on slack defending, mainly from Swansea left back Neil Taylor.

Taylor served Edin Dzeko's opening goal up on a silver platter with twenty minutes on the clock, The full back's limp attempt to pass back to captain Michael Dawson was cut out by the Bosnian who raced away and rounded the oncoming Michael Vorm to fire into an empty net.
Goal number two was all of City's making, a wonderful flowing counter attack found Toni Kroos on the edge of the Swansea area, the German threaded a pin point through ball for Carlos Tevez who struck his first time shot across Vorm and into the bottom corner to make it 2-0 in the 31st minute.

In truth the game was probably over at 2-0, however just to make sure City got a third just before half time, Neil Taylor giving away a freekick just inside the Swansea half with a foul on Yaya Toure, James Milner's delivery from the set piece was pin point accurate as he picked out Samir Nasri who should have been picked up better by Taylor, The Frenchman only had to tap the ball past the frustrated Vorm to compete the result.

Swansea did give a better showing in the second half as they valiently tried to at least reduce the deficit and forced Joe Hart int a few good saves, However City never looked like throwing this one away as The Swans hit rock bottom in the Premier League after two games.
David Beckham's men can switch their attention to the Capital One cup now as they prepare to travel to League Two Gillingham for their second round tie with Beckham expected to field a young side against the Gills.

David Beckham's Swansea City made light work of Gillingham to advance to the next round in a entertaining League Cup fixture at the Preistfield stadium this afternoon.
Beckham fielded a heavily rotated side to that which went down 3-0 to Manchester City on Saturday with only Neil Taylor and Jay Spearing retaining their places for this game. Spainish goalkeeper Raul Fernandez who is on loan from La Liga's Althletic Bilbao, was handed his Swans debut whereas Arsenal loanee Carl Jenkinson made his first start under the watchful eye of Arsne Wenger who was in the crowd, also starting for the first time were Darron Gibson and striker Luke James.

Swansea came out of the traps quickly, taking just two minutes to dash the home supporters hopes of a cup upset, Jenkinson heading down Erik Huseklepp's cross for Nathan Dyer to stroke home from three yards.
The second goal arrived in the twelfth minute, another Huseklepp cross caused havoc in the Gillingham six yard box, Luke James poked the ball at goal only to see it hit his own player, fortunately for the Swans Pablo Hernandez was following up as he tapped in to make it two.

Goal three came via the penalty spot when James was brought down by Gillingham's Charlie Lee, Darron Gibson stepped up to take the kick which he dispatched powerfully into the right corner of Stuart Nelson's net.
Gillingham did manage to pull a goal back with twenty minutes to go when Matt Fry's rather hopeful effort beat Fernandez, the Spaniard will have been disappointed to concede a debut clean sheet to such a soft goal but there was still no question as to which side was heading to the third round as Swansea added a fourth as Nathan Dyer flicked on a Hernandez corner for defender Kyle Bartly to belt in with an impressive volley.

There will be Premier League opposition for Swansea in the third round after they were drawn to face Southampton on the 24th September. Before that however Beckham must focus on his return to Old Trafford as he gears his side up to take on Manchester United. How will Beckham fare against his old master Fergie?

David Beckham suffered a miserable return to Old Trafford as he saw his Swansea City side well beaten by a top class display from Manchester United.
A red card for former United man Darron Gibson mid way through the first half with the score at 1-0 seemed to indicate it was game over for the Swans, not that they had really been in the game up until that point.

Belgian international Marouane Fellaini claimed the man of the match award after score two goal, either of which could be a serious contender for goal of the season. His first came after just three minutes when he took a touch from Kyle Bartley's clearance before lashing home a thunderous shot from 20 yards which almost took the net off the frame of helpless Michale Vorm's goal.
His second was even more spectacular, the big midfielder receiving a pass from Wayne Rooney thirty yards from goal which he promptly struck beautifully first time, His shot soared majestically into the top corner as Vorm could again only look on.

Fellaini's two goals came either side of a controversial red card for Swansea's Darron Gibson who received his marching orders for a late challenge on Phil Jones, Swan's manager David Beckham believed that a red card was harsh and a caution would have sufficed.
It seems unlikely that Swansea would have managed to get anything from this game even with their full quota, the Welsh side managed just a single attempt on goal throughout the entire ninety minutes, a half hearted effort from Michu which ended up well wide of the target. To make matters even worse Andy Carroll limped off injured just before half time, thankfully for him it appears to only be a knock and he should be ready for the visit of Liverpool to the Liberty stadium next week.

United completed the rout in the 71st minute when a cheeky back heal by Gareth Bale teed up Wayne Rooney perfectly to lash home his sides third of the afternoon from the edge of the box to send United to of the table with three wins from three. Swansea meanwhile are rooted to the bottom with the Swans yet to get any points on the board.

Lets hope the harsh fixture list won't be to much an effect on the team, as they should be good enough for a save mid-table finish.

Swansea were left cursing their luck at the final whistle today after two injury time strikes from Czech international Tomas Necid snatched a much needed point from David Beckham's side's grasp.
Going into added time it looked as if the home side had done enough to earn their first point of the season despite playing most of the second half with just ten men, However Necid had other ideas as he completed his hat-trick to break hearts in South Wales.

Swansea were without Andy Carroll who is not allowed to play against Liverpool as per the terms of his loan agreement from the reds, Pablo Hernandez and Darron Gibson were also missing through injury and suspension respectively.

It was the home side who opened the scoring after seven minutes when Nathan Dyer picked out Danny Graham lurking with intent inside the Liverpool six yard area, the big forward was allowed to turn and fire home to give the Swans hope of their first league win of the season.
Their lead however only lasted until the half hour point of the game when Aiden McGeady's ball across the penalty area was pounced upon by Necid at the far post to level things up.

Swan's Nigerian debutante Taye Taiwo saw red after collecting a second yellow card by clattering Brazilian midfielder Lucas in the 49th minute, making this the second successive game a Swansea player has been dismissed. Despite being a man down the home side didn't shut up shop and settle for a point which may ultimately have cost them as Necid scored two near identical goals in the 92nd and 93rd minutes, both times he slipped through the Swans defense as throughballs from Steven Gerrard and Lucas set him up perfectly for his treble.

The Swans find themselves bottom of the table with only themselves and Stoke yet to register any points, Beckham will be hoping next weeks trip t Everton can help kick start their season in to gear.

Morale is pretty low already so I'm getting a little concerned, We definatly need a win from somewhere to hopefully get things going.

Swansea have their first point of the season and move off the bottom of the Premiership after a good display at Goodision park this afternoon.
The fast flowing football which won the Swans so many admirers in recent years returned as the Welsh side exhibited some real attacking prowess for the first time this season, although they came very close to gaining nothing for their efforts after Dutch winger Urby Emmanuelson fired Everton into a 35th minute lead when he was allowed to waltz into the visitors penalty area and flash the ball across Michael Vorm, with such lax defending it is not hard to see how Swansea have already shipped twelve goals in five games.

Time and again the Swans powered forward with Michu and Nathan Dyer in particular causing David Moyes's side real problems throughout, but try as they might they could not find the finishing touch despite Andy Carroll and Dyer going close several times.
In the end it took a dubious penalty decision to hoist David Beckham's side out of the doldrums as Dickson Ethuhu brought down substitute Danny Graham in the 89th minute, despite furious Evertonian protests which seemed to indicate Graham had dived, Korean International Ki Sung-Yeung stepped up to dispatch the spot kick hard to Tim Howard's left and hand Swansea a well deserved share of the points.

Swansea can forget about their league predicament for a short while as they next face Southampton in the Capital One Cup after overcoming Gillingham in the previous round, Southampton meanwhile beat Notts County.

Swansea are through to the fourth round of the League cup following an established performance against Southampton this evening albeit after being helped out by the dismissal of Victor Wanyama.

All three goals came within the opening quarter of an hour with Southampton drawing first blood in the seventh minute thanks to Emmanuel Mayaka pouncing on a lose ball just inside the Swans penalty area to steer the ball past Spanish goalkeeper Raul Fernandez.
Nigel Adkins's side were in front for less than a minute however as Will Hughes set Michu free with a cutting though ball almost streight from the restart, Michu calmly picked out the top corner of the Saints net for his first goal of the season.

Michu was on target again six minutes later when Hughes again turned provider, Hughes's initial corner kick was repelled by a Southampton defender but only back to the £7.5M summer signing who expertly picked out Michu with his second attempt who flung himself through the air to score a spectacular diving header.

Helped by the dismissal of Victor Wanyama mid way through the first half Swansea looked fairly comfortable throughout and had several oppertunitys to increase their lead, manager David Beckham however will be happy enough with 2-1 as he side advance to face Arsenal at home on the 29th of October. The two sides will get to know each other this weekend before that game however as they also meet in the League.

Swansea XI:

Arsenal emerged victorious from the Liberty stadium this afternoon despite playing second fiddle to David Beckham's Swansea for large chunks of the game.
The Swans dominated the first half in particular, not allowing the Gunners a single effort on goal as they penned the three time Premiership winners into their own half forcing Lukas Fabianski into a string of impressive saves as they endevoured to cause an upset and claim their first three points of the season.

Both Andy Carroll and Michu had efforts well saved by the Polish keeper, Will Hughes went close with an effort that just cleared the crossbar and Nathan Dyer should have done better towards the end of the half when he tried to fire the ball across Fabianski from close range but missed the target by some distance.
This however was a game of two halves, Arsene Wenger's team talk must have lifted his team as they came out fighting after the break, they quickly established their dominance and began to exhibit a bit of the traditional Arsenal flair, their break through came in the 63rd minute when Jack Wilshire bend home a perfectly placed effort from eighteen yards, Michael Vorm got a glove to it but not enough to keep Wilshire from celebrating his first goal of the season.

Swansea, stung by the percived injustice of being behind after all their hard work began to get frustrated and give away needless fouls, eventually a rougth body check by Ashley Williams on Ukranian winger Anderiy Yarmolenko handed the Gunners the chance to wrap the game up in the 76th minute from the penalty spot. Mikel Arteta made no mistake in sending Vorm the wrong way to stretch Swansea's winless run in the league to fourteen games, The last time the Swans won was a 2-1 win over relegated Aston Villa in mid March.
Manager David Beckham will be hoping they can finally get their first win at White Hart Lane next week as his side face Tottenham.

Swansea have climbed out of the bottom three following a surprise win over Spurs at White Hart Lane for their first victory of the season.
This win, Swansea's first league win since March and first away result since beating Liverpool at Anfield last December will come as a massive relief in South Wales as the club has persistently gone without reward for some good performances thus far this season.

The game itself was a relatively drab affair without many chances at either end, Michu's 40th minute effort proved enough to decide the outcome. the Spaniard smashing home a knock down from strike partner Andy Carroll to send the traveling support into a frenzy and take some pressure off of manager David Beckham who will be hoping his side can follow up on this impressive result at home to QPR next week.

Good to see you outside the bottom three, however two of them have two games in hand so you will probably end up slumping back into it!

First victories are in and your out of the bottom three, with most teams around you to play its time to move up!

A furious David Beckham launched a furious attack on referee Mike Jone's after the official's decision to award a penalty to QPR for a supposed foul on Djibril Cisse by Michael Dawson.
Replay's showed there was no contact what so ever between the players and Cisse merely tripped over but was awarded the fourteenth minute spot kick by Jones which Cisse himself converted.

In a otherwise dull game this was the major talking point, Beckham and his side are likely to be wondering why fate continues to conspire against them this season as they once again out played the opposition only to fall victim to bad luck at the other end.
This defeat sees Swansea drop back into the relegation zone with eight games played, however, before they begin to try and remedy that situation they must first contend with Arsenal in the last sixteen of the Capital One cup.

Swansea have announced the signing of German legend Miroslav Klose in order to help supply fire power to the struggling Swans after a poor start to the season.
Klose has been without a club following his release from Italian side Lazio in the summer and will be hoping to enjoy the twilight years of his career in South Wales.

The German has scored 67 goals in 126 appearances for his country, Swansea manager David Beckham will be hoping the 35 year old can help get his side firing. Swansea are the second lowest scorers in the Premiership after only scoring four goals in eight games so fare despite having the likes of Andy Carroll, Michu, Danny Graham and Luke James among their ranks.

Swansea and Arsenal put on a fantastic exhibition of attacking football this evening with 120+ minutes of drama of the highest order, culminating in the Swans booking their place in the last eight of the competition.
Swansea handed a debut to their new star signing, German hit man Miroslav Klose lead the Swan's attack in lew of Andy Carroll who was dropped to the bench.

Klose played a big part in the games opening goal as he played through Michu to cap a flowing counter attack in the fourteenth minute, Arsenal however struck back almost instantly when Aaron Ramsey was afforded too much time and space on the edge of the penalty area, the Welsh midfielder fired past the despairing dive of Michael Vorm to even the score.
Swansea were back in the lead in the 38th minute when £7.5m record signing Will Hughes was played in on goal by a wonderful ball over the Arsenal defense from Michu which the young winger chipped over the on rushing Lucaz Fabianski for his first Swansea goal since his summer move from Derby.
Again the Gunners struck back quickly as Martin Kelly powered forward from right back to deliver a teasing ball across the six yard box for French Forward Oliver Giroud to tap in and level the game 2-2 going into half time.

The home side were again back in front in the 65th minute when Michu was rewarded for the two assists he had provided in the first half with a goal of his own, the Spaniard lashing the ball past Fabianski from 20 yards after been picked out by Hughes who Michu had set up for his goal earlier.
The pattern of play continued to be slightly repetitive as Arsenal were again back on terms within a few minutes, Giroud's initial shot came back off the cross bar but dropped Andiriy Yarmolenko who squared the ball back to Giroud, the Frenchman made no mistake with his second attempt as he made it 3-3.
Arsenal were reduced to ten men shortly after their equalizer due to an injury to Johan Djourou after Arsne Wenger had already made all of his three permitted substitution which, sensing blood, Swansea immediately tried to capitalize on by sending on Andy Carroll.
Try as they might David Beckham's side couldn't find a way past Fabianski before the end of 90 minutes, sending the game to extra time.

The sides were evened up just before half time in extra time when Ki Sung-Yeung picked up a second yellow card when he brought down Jack Wilshire to make the game 10vs10.
Despite the Korean's absence Swansea thought they had won the game when captain Chico Flores rifled home Darron Gibson's corner kick in the 117th minute to send the Liberty stadium into raptures.
Their celebrations were however cut short with virtually the last kick of extra time when Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain raced away from the Swans defense before pulling back for Aaron Ramsey to fire home for his second goal and send the game to the dreaded penalty shoot-out.

The home side opted to go first with AC Milan loanee Taye Taiwo taking the opening kick, the Nigerian lost his nerve and only managed a limp effort which Fabianski had little difficulty with, Giroud found the net with Arsenal's first penalty to put the Swans on the back foot. The impressive Michu converted to make it 1-1 before Michael Vorm pulled off a fantastic save to deny Pablo Armero and make it one scored and one missed for both side after two rounds.
There were successful conversions from Andy Carroll, Anderiy Yarmolenko, Darron Gibson and Aaron Ramsey to make the score 3-3 going into the fifth round of the shootout. Will Hughes added to his goal in normal time and sent Fabianski the wrong way whist maintaining impressive composure for an 18 year old, heaping the weight of the world on another youngster, Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain who buckled under pressure, firing his shot straight at Vorm to send Swansea through to a quarter final clash at home to Chelsea.

Great win against The Gunners

Swansea City's poor league form continues despite their excellent performance against Arsenal in the Capital One cup on Wednesday.
David Beckham's men were within touching distance of what would have been a precious three points with the Swans currently in the bottom three of the table, but they were denied by an injury time strike from Kevin Doyle to save a point for high flying Wolves who continue to defy the odds as they currently occupy third place in the Premiership.

Swansea dominated most of the play and crafted out many good chances, however it took until the 82nd minute to finally find a way past Wolves keeper Wayne Hennessey when substitute Pablo Hernandez bent in a beautiful free kick from 20 yards, A lead which based on the Swans prior control over the game many thought would be decisive, however with just 30 seconds remaining of the allotted two minutes of stoppage time Kevin Doyle popped up to get on the end of a hopeful long ball from Jem Karcan which the Irishman duly converted to deny Swansea at the death.

Beckham's side's dealings with teams from the Black country continues next week as they travel to West Bromwich Albion.

Swansea pulled off a fantastic comeback after a disastrous opening twenty minutes to claim an unlikely point against West Brom this afternoon.
David Beckham's side found themselves 3-0 down in just fifteen minutes thanks to strikes from Franco Di Santo, Jonas Olson and Billy Jones but largely had themselves to blame with some comical defending.

Argentine striker gave Baggies the lead after nine minutes when Chris Brunt's low cross was completely missed by Kyle Bartley, goalkeeper Michael Vorm managed to dive at the feet of Shane Long to prevent the Irishman from scoring but then split the ball for Di Santo to tap into an empty net from a yard out.
Albion doubled their lead two minutes later when nobody in a Swansea shirt seemed to want to close down Brunt who was causing havoc in the back four, the striker was able to simply square the ball to Billy Jones who was arriving in the penalty are unchecked, Jones only had to pick which side of Vorm he wanted to put the ball to make it 2-0.

It looked as if it was game over after just 15 minutes when the irrepressible Brunt claimed a hat-trick of assists, this time the Irish International swung in a teasing corner to the back post which neither Vorm or his defenders took any responsibility for, allowing Jonas Olson to nod home and make it 3-0. So frustrated was the Swansea manager that he subbed goalkeeper Vorm to hand Spanish youngster Raul Fernandez his first league appearance in English football.
Just as Swansea looked dead and buried they got a goal back, Will Hughes's corner picking out captain Chico Florres perfectly as the Spaniard sent a bullet of a header past Ben Foster in the Albion goal with 23 minutes gone.

Chico really began the comeback in the 38th minute with an almost identical goal to his first, again Hughes picked out the captain to make it 3-2 and get the Baggies faithful shifting in their seats uncomfortably.
Swansea were level in the 69th minute when Michu picked out substitute Danny Graham, Graham made no mistake in dispatching the ball past Foster to even the scores and ultimately rescue a precious point for the underachieving Swans, Beckham's men did not have an easy time of the last twenty minutes however as two goal hero Chico was dismissed just moments after the third goal when he flew in two footed of Albion's Morgan Schneiderlin meaning his side had to endure a backs to the wall performance to see out the game.
