Results going our way meant that we still have the slimmest of chances to become champions but only if PSV lose to bottom place Zwolle and both Feyenoord and Vitesse drop points in the final game of the season.
SR67
Despite a strong finish to the season we deservedly lost the title on the last fixture due to the results in March. The second place finish does however secure us Champions League football next season. The squad will have to be improved massively, especially at the back.
I'm surprised to have singed a new deal as I didn't think I'd get one. This however gives me four years to win the Champions League and hopefully a few league titles along the way.

Overall our defence was solid, but it could still do with an extra player. In midfield we are solid and have a big pool to choose from so not much will change there except form the fringe players. Up front we could do with a 20+ goal striker and is my main priority along with a keeper. Kenneth Vermeer had a poor season despite his high rating, making a lot of stupid mistakes. The stand out performer was Toby Alderweireld and has been handed a new four year contract.
As for our signings, both permanent transfers vastly improved our midfield. Out of our loan signings the only one to make any impact was Mattia De Sciglio who I'll look to bring back.
Transfer Targets
- Goalkeeper
- Right back
- 20 goal striker

We only got a £5.5 million transfer budget so it was inevitable that some players would leave. Five players left, the most notable goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer. This leaves us with over £20 million for transfers and just under £100k free for wages.
The first signing was a free transfer who looks like he could become a great player in the future and a New Zealand legend.
SR67
I expected to win both and by large margins, but I'll put it down to the major reshuffle of the squad and the fact we don't have a first choice keeper as of yet.

I drafted in a few player with plenty of money to invest further. I'm still looking for a new striker and right back.
Not the greatest signing but with game time he could be moulded into a top class keeper, costing £500k less than what Kenneth Vermeer left for.
Signed on a one year deal with the option of an extra year, he should add a threat to the wings. At only £20k he could be a bargain, or an expensive waste.
The on loan Chelsea midfielder could be one of our best players this season if he lives up to expectations. I would like to add him permanently but money could be a huge stumbling block.

Cheers hopefully I can improve the squad and win the league next season!

A decent draw but it could have been easier. I fancy us to make the next round with ease, and hopefully get the luck of the draw.
Two good pre-season results, a big win over Standard followed by an excellent result against Premiership Champions Manchester United.
SR67
A good win to put us with an excellent chance of progression, a few positive debuts were also made.
Could he be my 20 goal striker? A fairly expensive signing at £7 million but at only 22 his value should rise as he improves.

I'm not sure how to take this month. We done well domestically drawing two big games and winning the other two to leave us 4th in the table. A very poor result agains Napoli in Italy was enough to end our Champions League hope and we will now compete in the Europa League.
Another loanee to blooster our right wing, the Argentine will probably be my last signing of the window.

A decent group but we should qualify, our biggest rivals are probably Fiorentina. I hope to win the Europa League this year to make a treble.
SR67
I feel I've massively improved the squad and made a profit in the process. The most pleasing transfer has to be Marko Marin on loan from Chelsea or Andrey Arshavin on a free transfer.

One I'd seen Henrikson had became available for just under £6 million, the first thing i done was check the finances and chance my luck for a few million for transfers.
The board agreed to give me £3 million, and I can make the rest up with the wage budget providing he doesn't want too much.
SR67
We had a good month, winning all five matches. The majority of my attack chipping in with a goal, except Facundo Ferreyra who missed the whole month with an injury but is fully fit for the upcoming Europa League tie. Im happy to be sitting a point clear so early and hope to build on it.
He cost a fair bit, but we had the money to spare and will slot in nicely to the centre of the park. I've also arranged to sell Jasper Cillessen to AS Monaco and youngster Mickey van der Hart has stepped up to the first team.

Another good month excluding the first half disaster against Veendam when it was 5-1 at the break. However we've secured top place in the Europa League group meaning our draw for the next round should be easier. Despite the big loss we still sit top with a single point.

Cheers bud!

An average month leaves us joint top, hopefully Decembers games can see us go a few points clear. Compared to this time last year we are doing far better so hopefully it continues.
SR67
Another league win means that any more than a two goal win will put us top and give us the advantage in January. The two loss' in the Europa League were poor but we had already topped the group so I wasn't too bothered. The draw for the next round would have been easier if we finished second!

The first day of January seen two pieces of business taken care of; first Markus Henrikson joined the club and secondly I signed Joe Ledley on a pre-contract.
My man finally arrived and about time with games against PSV, Feyenoord and Alkmaar coming up. He will give me plenty of quality in depth.
A real coup for the club, has the ability to boss the middle of the park and an excellent eye for a pass.
SR67
We are still yet to beat PSV and dropped vital points, but we made up for it with three back to back wins. Two in the league to put us top on goal difference.

A very busy month, three big losses in the league put us 4 points off top and could be the deciding factor in the title chase. An injury time winner put us through to the last 16 of the Europa League to face Dynamo Kiev.
