JOB OFFER

Despite resigning from a side in the Chinese First Division, I have landed a job in the top division of Chinese football, The Chinese Super League. I have taken over the reigns at Shenxin who are currently sitting in 11th position. Before taking the job, I added the Serbian and Slovakian leagues so they are countries that I hope to manage in in the future.

From a personal point of view, I have received a pay rise of nearly £1k more than I was on at Changqing FC and have signed a deal until the end of next season. Like I said, we are currently sitting in 11th position and pretty much safe from relegation. I have eight games left of the season to try and figure out which players I want to keep and to also plan for next season.

Looking at the squad, these are the three players that my assistant rates highest. I will give a full lowdown on the players I have inherited at the end of the season but these are the three that stand out:

This guy looks a class act for this side and I expect him to be very successful for me. He has great attributes for a centre half and he will be my main stay at the back. At 28 years of age, he's still got a long time to go as well.

This speed demon is my second foreigner, leaving space for me to bring in two more foreign players in the Summer. His stats aren't the best but he's unbelievably quick and that can trouble any defence in this league. He's been our top goalscorer for the last three seasons and has already grabbed 11 this season, would be happy for him if he manages 15 goals by the end of this season.

This is another guy who I rate very highly, giving us a very strong core to the side. Can't believe he hasn't been capped by the national side yet, should only be a matter of time though.

Really happy to have got another job and I plan on staying at this club for a long time, 4 years minimum. Now I'm in the top league of China, I want to push on and challenge for the title.

Shenxin - Season Three (3/3)

The season has finished and my short stint at Shenxin went really well. As you can see, we scored a shitload of goals but unfortunately conceded a load as well, a problem I had with Changqing FC as well. However, this is something I'm really enjoying. I will be having a re-shuffle to my squad before the next season but if we can sort out our defensive frailties, I genuinely believe it will be a successful season.

Yang Zi and Jailton Paraiba impressed most for us upfront however unfortunately the latter wants to leave. He's a foreigner so I am tempted to let him go, as I am only allowed four. On the topic of transfers, I have agreed a deal with my old club; Air India to sign the Indian David Beckham, Patil- check earlier on in the career to see who he is*. Managed to sign him on a free transfer however obviously he takes up another one of my foreign spots. As Changqing FC, I messed up by messing around too much with my staff and bringing in staff from all round the world, many of whom couldn't speak any Chinese. At this club, I have brought in new staff but all Chinese, hoping this can be a positive for us.

It's now February 2016 and my new season starts soon. I didn't see much point in giving a lowdown of my players stats last season because I was only there for eight matches. Instead, here is my side for the upcoming season. I will update my transfers in my next post but below is my squad.

Goalkeepers

Ma Xiyuan is a new goalkeeper who I've brought in. He's 19 years old and has been capped 4 times by the under 21's which is promising. I still intend Liu Dianzuo to be my starting goalkeeper though.

Defenders

Kassio will again be my star man at the centre of the defence. He's a quality defender but has already told me he wants to leave at the end of the season which is a shame. Last season, we conceded too many goals, I'm hoping with a full pre-season, the defence will be able to adapt to my tactics and sort it out. Jiang Zhipeng is another player who has good stats for this league, he has quite a few clubs after him.

Midfielders

Wang Jiayu will be my main central midfielder this season as he's a player I hold in high regard. The rest are pretty average but hopefully we should be alright. One negative is that I brought in Alex Patil from my old side Air India but we now have two many foreigners and he will probably be the one that I'll have to sell.

Strikers

I have brought in two new strikers in Uladzimir Yurchanka, joining from some side in Belarus and Terry Envoh, joining from a side in Nigeria. They join last seasons top goalscorer Jailton Paraiba so that's promising. Kang, was another striker I brought in but he can also play on the wing.

TRANSFER SUMMARY INCOMINGS

I have brought in 9 players in this pre season and reshuffled my squad to adapt to my new style. Below are the main players in my squad. If anybody wants any of the other screenies then let me know.

Good pedigree for a keeper so young. He's most likely to be back up for the upcoming season but then again, if we concede as many goals as we did last season he may be a starter.

Chinese Ashley Cole.

He'll be my main midfielder this season, got really good stats for somebody in this division.

Brought in Yurchanka from the top league in Belarus. He was quite good overall stats and expecting big things from him. He can't speak Chinese and has never played in China so he may take a while to adapt but if he can, he should do well.

Becomes my highest paid transfer in this career for £20k. He's only young and has got good stats, expect him to do well for me and hopefully get an international call up along the way.

My final foreigners joins from Sharks in Nigeria. Expecting big things from him- he can score, got good pace and hopefully should do well.

Shenxin - Season Four (1/3)

Brilliant start to the season as we managed to win 6 games out of a possible 10. We are predicted to finish tenth this season but I believe we can finish a lot higher. We need to finish in the top three to qualify for the Asian Champions League and I feel we can do that. My defensive record has been more impressive than last season which is really pleasing- and our goalscoring record has been quality as well.

Uladzimir Yurchanka, who signed in the Summer has been really impressive for us, scoring five goals and assisting seven from the right hand side of midfield.

My star defender Kassio and the club's top goalscorer for the last five seasons, Jailton Paraiba are both out of contract in the Summer and are refusing to sign a new deal. Thinking of letting their contract run down and hopefully manage to persuade them to sign a new deal at the end of the season. It's a risk as I may lose them both on a free but Kassio is too pivotal to my side to let him leave now.

Shenxin - Season Four (2/3)

With ten matches left, the Champions League spot (3rd position) is still a big possibility. We are vastly over performing but we need to make sure we keep up our good form if we are to have any chance of getting Champions League qualification. If we would of won the FA Cup, qualification is gained but unfortunately we lost on penalties in the quarters which is a shame.

As you can see, Kassio is doing great for us. He's scored 9 goals from centre back this season which is brilliant however I've kind of succumbed to the fact that he'll be leaving for a free in the Summer. The most we can offer him is £1.7k and he's not budging from £3k a week.

My striker Yurchanka is rumoured to be getting a call up for Belarus. He deserves it to be honest, he's been quality since arriving in the Summer.

Having a bit of trouble with the Kassio situation. He has now bagged 11 goals from centre back and has been my best player by far.

Kassio's stats
I have kind of succumbed to the fact that he is leaving and have offered him out to club for £250k. I will lose him in three months for free and now this has happened...

Much like Bayern Munich in real life taking Gotze and probably Lewandowski, Gangzhou look to be doing the same. They already have Diego Conca who has won player of the year two times on the run and former Dortmund striker, Barrios who is head and shoulders above anybody in this league. Then, only a few days later, this happened...

Jailton Paraiba has been the side's top goalscorer for the last four seasons but he is another one who is refusing to sign a new deal. They are technically my best two players at the club and will really miss them when they leave.

The fact is, do I take the £210k and let them leave to a side that is going to dominate for the next few seasons, giving me no chance OR let them leave on free when they'll probably join them on a free anyway?!

TRANSFER NEWS

I have decided that to accept the offer for Kassio. He will now discuss terms with Guangzhou over a move there at the end of the season. I have managed to bring in Ghana international Lee Addy as his replacement. Addy has pedigree of playing regularly for his country and will only be on £1.2k a week in comparison to Kassio wanting £3k.

I'm happy to have found somebody this good as a replacement. It's a risk playing him centre half as he's 5ft 10, and Kassio is 6ft 4 but hoping it will be okay. Still need to decide on what to do with Jailton Paraiba though.

Really hard decision but hope I don't live to regret it. Hopefully their performances won't drop before the end of the season. Hope they break their legs on the last game of the season.

Just stick them in their own training routines and either work them extremely hard, or give them very minimal training so their stats decrease.

One match to go and Champions League qualification is still on the cards. We are one point behind rivals Guangzhou and I tell you what, I would love it if we finished above them. As you know, Kassio and Jailton Paraiba are moving to Guangzhou at the end of the season as they both wanted Champions League football.

Guangzhou are at home to Lianing who are currently in 9th position and we are away to bottom side Yiteng. Yiteng need to win to stay up so it will be a tough game but Guangzhou will be favourites to qualify but we'll have to wait and see.

Fingers crossed.

Well, we won our match against Yiteng to send them down, meaning if Guangzhou were to draw or lose their match, we would of clinched Champions League football. Kassio, who has been my best player and is joining Guangzhou in the Summer put us ahead with a great strike from the edge of the area, his 13th goal this season- going to miss him so much. My former Chongning FC striker Akram equalised before our top goalscorer Terry Envoh scored our second before substitute Kang Zhenjie sealed the win.

So, did we qualify for the Asian Champions League...

Shenxin - Season Four (3/3)

So, my first full season in charge of Shenxin has ended in a success, somewhat. We were predicted to finish 9th and narrowly missed out on a Champions League spot managing to finish 4th. We only lost five matches all season so for us to finish 4th was quite disappointing. Next season we can only lost 2/3 games if we are to have any chance of winning the league. We do lose Kassio and Jailton Paraiba who have been my best players so I can see next season being a struggle compared to this season. On first look, I'd be happy with a mid-table finish.

Goalkeepers

Liu Dianzuo was my starting goalkeeper all season and was absolutely fantastic for me. He managed to keep a clean sheet 13 times and only conceded 28 goals in 33 matches. He was called up by the Chinese national side a few times as well but has yet to make an appearance. The other keeper in a Chinese youth international but he will have to be content as my number two as I'm not dropping Dianzuo.
Defenders

As you can see, Kassio was absolutely brilliant for me. He was a threat from corners and managed to score a massive 13 goals, coming my second top goalscorer in the process. All of my defence were really impressive so apart from Lee Addy (Kassio's replacement), I expect him to be my only change to the back line. Jiang Zhipeng was quality for me at left back too, didn't miss a game.
Midfielders

Wang Jiayu is my captain and played really well for us. Zhu Baojie was his main central midfield partner and expect them two to carry on that next season. May bring in another midfielder but still undecided. Yurchanka scored quite a lot from the right wing as did Zhang Jingyang who also impressed me.
Strikers

Terry Envoh settled into Chinese football brilliantly and managed to finish as our top goalscorer with 17 goals. Jailton Paraiba was dropped after he expressed a desire to leave but still managed to score six goals. Yang Zi scored a few off the bench but I'll probably be looking to get rid in the Summer.

I'm going to miss him.

Just thought I'd sealed a deal for Quincy Osuwu-Abeyie but after he accepted my offer of £1.4k a week but he moved to Nigerian side Liberty on £400 a week.

I have signed a former Manchester United legend. For us to get a player of his calibre to play for little old Chinese side Shenxin is out of this world.

Also, Kassio and Jailton Paraiba have now left the club. The highest we could offer them was £1.7k a week, they are now both earning over £7k at Guangzhou.

With nearly two months until the start of the season, I have moved quickly to do my transfer business to help my players blend into the squad and get a good pre season under their belt. I have signed four new players and intend on maybe bringing in one more centre back but only as backup. Only 4 players left the club, Kassio and Jailton the main ones, the other two were just back up.



Pre arranged deal after I let Kassio leave to join Guangzhou. He's got international experience and very good stats for a player of his age. I've signed him up on a four year contract so expecting him to be a big part of my team. He's only on £725 a week as well which is an absolute steal.

Signed from fellow Super League side Fuli. Can play in the centre of midfield or in the defensive role. Mainly brought in as back up but at 23 years old, looks to have some quality about him. Tried to sign him last Summer but he rejected me so happy to have got him now.

Libyan speed demon Elmunir joins from some side from Serbia (not got the game open at the moment but will confirm later). He's frighteningly quick and impressive on the ball. Expecting big things from this guy.

Liu has been my first choice goalkeeper since I joined the club near the back end of last season. He has been called up by the Chinese national team three times but has yet to make an appearance. Last season he kept 13 clean sheets, only conceding 28 goals in 33 matches. He's a top keeper and expect him to carry on as my number one for the next few seasons. He'll probably get a few international caps if he keeps up his good form.

Lee Addy has been brought in as a replacement for the departing Kassio. He can play at either left back or centre half but I will be playing him at centre half. He's had five years of experience of playing in China with A'erbin but left after failing to agree a new deal. He's been capped for Ghana and fully expect him to get recalled if he plays well for us.

Cai Shun can play all along the left but hasn't found himself in my plans. He is currently on the transfer list and will probably move on soon. He hasn't played under me, not last season or the season before and Beijing are showing interest in him. Its not like he's a bad player, just my other players have played really well.

Wu Yuyin has only joined the club recently from fellow Super League Liaoning for a fee of £18k. He only featured once for them last season and before that was a regular in the division below for Huak'ier. He will most likely be back up this season as we don't have many centre backs but we'll have to wait and see how he performs.

Zhang Hou is a young talented centre half who has featured sporadically for us throughout the last few seasons. Last season he featured 10 times and managed to score two goals. He had requested a move away as we couldn't guarantee him first team football but fortunately he has changed his mind and decided to fight for his place.

Zhang Fengyu was my starting centre back last season who can also play in defensive midfield. He is a talented player who built up a very strong partnership with Kassio. Hopefully he can create the same kind of bond with Lee Addy. He will be my starting centre back this season.

Jiang Zhipeng is one of my favourite players in this side. He's a very attacking full back who is also very solid at the back. He was ever present in the side last season and consequently has only missed 2 matches in the past 3 seasons. He can also play on the wing but I don't intend to play him there unless I have to. He will be a main part of my side for the considerable future.

14. Cheng Mouyi

Cheng Mouyi is another attacking full back and balances well from the other side with Zhipeng. He was a player that at the start of last season, I wanted to get rid of him but I couldn't find an adequate replacement. He performed brilliantly last season and I intend on him being my starting right back this season too. Will probably try and look for a younger right back at the end of next season.

Alex Patil is a player I brought to the club after my stint at Air India. I brought him to Air India as a 16 year old and quickly nicknamed him the Indian David Beckham. He hasn't exactly lived up to those expectations but he's a player that I want to take around the clubs with me. He's more of a novelty player and only featured 4 times for me last season but hoping to give him more game time next season. He's been capped for the Indian national side so hopefully has a bright future.

33. Zhu Baoljie

Zhu Baoljie was a key player for me last season and is currently played the most for this club out of this current bunch of players. He can play in the holding role and also in the centre of midfield. He's really impressed me and expect him to be a key player for me again this season, hopefully he can get an international cap along the way.

5. Wang Jiayu

Wang Jiayu is my captain and a key part to my side. He's had Guangzhou sniffing around him who will obviously be able to offer him a lot more money than we can but hopefully we can keep hold of him. He's good all the attributes to become a brilliant player and I expect him to get a call up for the national side soon.

Huang Long is a new signing from fellow Super League side Fuli. I expect him to be back up for Jiayu and Baoljie but he does have really strong attributes. He's played regularly in this league so hopefully he'll be able to fit in well. He's another one who I hope can force his way into the international set up.

10. Abdussalam Mohammed Elmunir

Elmunir is another player who has only recently joined the side. He has been a regular in the top flight of Serbian football and did well there. He's got great attributes and I'm hoping he can gel into the side and adapt quickly to Chinese football. He's a quick tricky winger who I will be looking to train as a striker as a replacement for Jailton Paraiba who has joined Guangzhou.

26. Du Shaobin

Du Shaobin is a winger who joined the club at the start of last season. Unfortunately, he's been unable to break his way into the side and to be honest, I can't see that changing. He's a good player but he will probably leave when his contract runs out at the end of this season.

Zhang Jingyang is my starting left winger and a very good player. He got 16 assists last season and is a key part of my side, he's also a really good set piece taker. He's a player who I expect to be a main player for me this season and even a few seasons ahead.

Yang Jiawei is a good utility player for the squad who has never really let me down. He can play on the right wing but I have retrained him as a right back which is a plus. His stats aren't the best but he's an important player for my side, mainly down to his versatility.
