Good news for next season means automatic group stage entry in the Champions League. We have moved up 9 places to 16th in the European club rankings and 36th to 34th in the rich list and the SPL moved up to 13th.
Scotland went out in the next round to Spain, Germany then went on to win the competition.

Sold a lot of people I didn't want to sell this summer because they wouldn't sign new contracts or wanted too much. Zuculini and van Dijk put in transfer requests, Finbogason wanted £40k p/w to stay past the end of the season. The biggest pain was losing Rogic after I couldn't get a new work permit for him. He was quickly becoming the best player. Samaras and Irvine were both fringe players that I thought best leave.
There wasn't as much in way of players in. The squad is definitely weaker than last season but the potential is there. Ings has had a good record at Burnley the past few seasons and Duffy fell out of favour at Everton. The other four were Scottish and should be in or around the first

A good pre-season with only some minor blips. The squad was rotated, I got an idea of player roles and now the squad is match fit.
This will be my starting IX...
Adam Matthews - Alexander Milosevic - Shane Duffy - Joe Chalmers
James Forrest - Scott Brown - Joe Ledley - Gary Mackay-Steven
Danny Ings - Stevie May

Not the best start as of yet. We lost and drew Champions League Qualifiers we should have won along with a bore draw against Motherwell. We did manage a 4-1 win over Rangers to round of the month.
We've got so far up the coefficients (16th) that we are now 2nd seeds. This is a winnable group if I can get revenge on Man City for last years semi-final.

The pressure of deadline day got to me. But. I think I got a player just about to enter his prime. Helenius cost £3m from Aston Villa after falling down the pecking order.

Not the best of months. A decent result away to Man City but poor results against Hamilton and Sparta Prague. Hopefully next month we can open the gap at the top keep a few more clean sheets.

I can't even remember mate I've had it for a few years, sorry.

A good bounce back from last month, Fraser Forster spent most of the month injured and Warner Hahn proved he isn't up to it so I've sold him to Leeds.
Although we didn't manage to keep the clean sheets I'd have liked in the Champions League we managed to climb up to 2nd place with the big win over Olympiakos.

A very good month for us some big wins paired with a spot in the CL last 16. Next month I will be focusing on the league and trying to double the gap at the top.
Hopefully the draw (in two weeks time) will be kind to us like last year.
SR67
I said that my focus would be on stretching the lead at the top and thats just what I did, from 6 to 14 points clear gives us a massive chance of landing the title early despite a few bumps along the way.
The poor results might be due to a shift in philosophy and tactics and the squad adjusting. I made two sales in December, Warner Hahn to Leeds and Bahrudin Atajic to Al-Ain for £2.8m combined.
Champions League Last 16
If you look at the sides I could have got there wasn't anyone I wanted. There was a few I would have liked to avoid and thankfully I did.

A terrible month. First of all two draws and then going out of two cups in the space of 4 days. It might do us a favour if we go far in the Champions League but its no excuse we were terrible both matches.
There was a few transfers. The only other player to leave was Danny Ings on loan with Birmingham paying his full £20k p/w wage, hopefully it gets him scoring again.
Transfers In
A replacement for Warner the young Irish keeper looks a good prospect for the future and can feature for both the reserves and u19's while sitting on the bench.
Kerr is one for the future, I might give him his debut this season but will more than likely let him play in the u19s and give him it next year.
I signed Halilovic on a pre-contract before Dinamo offered me him 6 months early for just £400k. I couldn't refuse. It did cause Ravel Morrison to throw a fit about the amount of players in his position.
With Tony Want and Stevie May facing a few weeks out I brought in some cheap back up just to beef up the squad. I don't expect much from him this season.
And finally Capoue was brought in to relieve some of the pressure on Joe Ledley in the DM slot for my new formation.

Cheers mate. Can't believe my bad luck, lost both of them in the last 15 too!
SR67
Well 2017 has not been our year with another poor month. We crashed out go the Champions League by means of the away goal rule, compared to last seasons semi-final it's very disappointing. League form has been pretty poor too, throwing a way a 2-0 lead over Rangers to draw.
SR67
It looked like the prefect month until it all went pear shaped at Firhill. Still 18 points clear and can warp the league up in the next match at home to Dundee Utd who look likely to go down. I brought in Darjio Srna to help settle Alen Halilovic as he's homesick and to cover the injured Adam Matthews.

Nothing worse than losing on away goals! Yeah the league's the easy thing mate. Thistle do have some quality youngsters if you poach them early enough, like the look of Taylor-Sinclair hope we get him in real life.
