I like Holloway, and he did a brilliant job in getting them up in the first place. If Parish knows they'll probably go down, they might as well take the hit, plan for the Championship and keep Holloway, knowing that he's capable of bringing them back up. Who is going to be able to keep this Palace side up that isn't out of their wage packet, has too good a reputation, or isn't currently at a better club now?

Perhaps, but you're just speculating. The line seems to be that he walked because he realised he'd lost the dressing room, and Parish supposedly rejected his resignation in the immediate aftermath of the Fulham game. We don't know the full story.
