-----------------------------------------------------------------------
So Football Manager 2014 comes out on 31st October, however I have early access beta, due to having pre-ordered the game. So, I thought I would start up a little diary. This (As I'm sure you are aware), is the first ever season - my team - Yeovil Town has been competing in the Championship, so I thought it would make sense, and have an awful lot of challenge to it, to take charge of Gary Johnson's team and keep them in the Championship, and who know's from there.
Just so no one is worried... I am not stopping the Plymouth Argyle save on FMH2013. That save is on my phone, whereas this one is on the full game. Chances are, I will still play the game on my phone when not at home, (For instance Bowls weekends), and this diary will be simply for when I have my computer.
I'm not sure yet what style of updates I will do, but I doubt there will be many screenshots, or anything like that. I find them to be longwinded (Having to print screen, copy to a program, then go to the internet, find a web host and then copy the link into the topic.) However, you might find that I would do that for important games, or for the table, or maybe more if I can streamline the process.
For anyone wondering why this will be so much of a challenge, and doesn't know Yeovil Town as well as I do; here's a little history. In 2003, Yeovil made t's first appearance in the football league, and won the Confrence. Last year, (Ten years later), we won the play off's of League 1 at Wembley (Hence the title of the thread) 2-1, and are now in the Championship. We have the least expensive squad in the championship (It wasn't exactly high on the league 1 list), a capacity of 10,000 people (But only about half are seated). However, with the club being in the middle of Somerset, there is strong difficulty to actually get people through the door. For instance, Huish Park has not sold out once this year.
I hope you guys enjoy this diary, and some more information on the side, and what faces us will be announced when the game is out (Around 14th October).

Head of Youth Development: Frank Key,
Coachtuart Howsley,
Coacharren Way,
Coach: Garath Stuart,
Head Physio: Simon Baker,
Physio:Mike Micciche,
Chief Scout: Peter Johnson.
Talking to Terry Skiverton (By the way, that's a great idea. You basically talk to your assistant manager and he offers to do certain tasks, rather than doing it in a menu), he will take charge of training (For now), as well as the reserve team. He has also created a inter-club friendly for the second day of my career to scout the team, and see what is happening.
We have also been offered our transfer budget and wage budget.
Avoid Relegation: 150k Transfer Budget, 51k Wage Budget
Mid-Table Finish: 160k Transfer Budget, 55k Wage Budget
Top Half Finish: 180k Transfer Budget, 56k Wage Budget.
Currently, the team has a wage of 37k.
I chose Avoid Relegation, simply because of what is on the pitch, and £30,000 will not make enough of a difference.
We also had the chance to attend the England Trial Day.
Yeovil Town 3-2 Yeovil Town U21
Madden (18',40' - K. Moore (5',78'
Williams (43'
Grant (Injured)
Sadly, the one thing I realised from this game, is that we have three great strikers, and that when Ed Upson isn't playing well, and Luke Ayling isn't on the pitch, our defence is dreadful! The next game is away at Torquay (Just down the road, actually), and also the England Trial day. We have also hired Barry Whitbread, a new scout (Because we only had one).

So, after three great wins, we are finally beaten. A last minute silly goal given away cost us the third game. We've had a few injuries, including Ngoo being out for 3 weeks, and also Osman being sent off, has been given a two game ban.

Ngoo got injured after his two goals against Milwall too .

Sadly, we have seriously struggled to score goals. Paddy Madden is yet to score since the loss to Burnley, whilst we went 6 games without a win. We also had a dreadful loss in the Capital One Cup where we lost away from home at Premier League's Hull.

This bad run of form leaves us in 20th position with just 8 points. No transfer budget, plus not being able to get rid of the poorer players in the squad leaves me with real troubles this year.Lee V

After this long run of games, we would be up as high as 17th after the game with Watford. We were as high as 15th for a couple games. However, Byron Webster was to be injured in the last match, having been our most consistent player all season, (Average rating of 8.01), he will be missed. However, it was FA Cup time. We would play 8th place in the premier league Southampton. We knew that a win would draw us either Leeds or Manchester United in the next round.FA Cup (Third Round):
- Southampton 0-0 Yeovil Town
That means that Southampton would come to Huish Park for the replay, and the winner would book a match against Manchester United in the 4th Round after they beat Leeds 4-0.--------------------------------
Anyone know how I can turn off Smiley's in posts? They are getting freeking annoying now!
