Moneyball II

Decided not to sign anyone. The value wasn't there and none of my first team players left. Promoted a few reserves to full time first team players. The players I promoted were:

- Stuart Findlay: Made his debut last season, will come in handy during the cup runs and off the bench.
- Lewis Kidd: Another who made his debut last season. Again will come in handy to boost the numbers.
- Liam Henderson: Made his debut in the 2013/14 season and spent most of last year at Hull with 10 starts. Will be involved more than the previous tow.
- Callum McGregor: Very impressive when called upon last year. Will be sniffing around for a regular spot.

I'll no longer be using the search filter. I'll only now sign a player whom I have the knowledge of or my scouts or staff recommend.

A good start to the season for us. Didn't manage to get much of a pre-season in, because the qualifiers clashed with some of them. The qualifiers did act like pre-season matches for the big kick-off. The pleasing sight for me here is the clean sheets. Goal for the season is 2.5 scored/game and 0.5 conceded/game.

Just a point separates us and Aberdeen at the top of the table. Also a big win over Rangers to finish the season.

A tough group but I think we could do it this year, Man City should top the group but I see Ajax fighting us for 2nd place.

Theis could certainly spice things up!

So Hib£rnian want to play with the big boys. Not sure what they were valued before but now about £40m, will definitely spice things up. Take over seems semi-realistic too. Hibs could be bought fairly cheep I'd imagine, and its a club in the capital.

Gutted with this one. Been key over the past 2 and a bit seasons, hopefully he makes it back for the tail end of the season. I was able to convince him to become a coach and looks pretty decent for a new coach but can't get him on a new contract yet, hopefully after I few months I can get him in the u19 set-up.

A decent two months meant we stretched the lead at the top to 8 points. We even managed 3 points at home in the Champions League, can we take another 6 and qualify! Hopefully a place in the last 16 isn't out of reach.

Had a meeting with the board I managed to get some good things out of it:

- They gave me an extra £6m for transfers
- They increased they transfer revenue percentage to 95
- They started looking for a feeder club
- The increased the junior coaching budget

Re-done the past month.

Forms been up and down in the end of 2015. Cant seem to put a decent run together, still top by a margin though. Might change things up again for the new breed coming through. Crashed out at the group stages again. We should have beat Ajax at home, so frustrating. So thats one goal this season I haven't met. Play is now to win the Eruopa League.

Rhodes has came of the boil a bit. Need to get him firing them home again! I think my plan of not signing anyone in the summer may have backfired.

I'm happy with this draw. Not really any daunting teams we could face if we progress, at least either Dortmund or Moncao will go. It would be good to get an easy run up to the latter stages.

Since the crash we now have Bayern Munich in the ranks. Hopefully someone knocks them out.

Next think on the agenda is finding replacements for the older players. I’ll be looking at players approaching 30 in the next couple of seasons.
- Kris Commons is injured and likely to decline; ideally I’ll replace him in January and keep him on as a player coach.
- Scott Brown, he’ll stay at the club until he retires and I have Jason Lowe ready to step in and Joe Ledley as replacement captain.
- Charlie Mulgrew’s got another season left in him. I’m not sure if Stuart Findlay will be ready by the time I need a replacement

The only urgent case here I Commons and I already have a few ideas in mind.

Also at £35k p/w if Jordan Rhodes doesn’t finish top goal scorer he is out the door. Currently 5 off the mark.

Gael Kalkuta handed in a transfer request so I sold him to Stuttgart for £3m, not a great fee but it is 100% profit. Lucas Anderson only cost £1m to replace him from Ajax.

We had a great run then it went tits up during February/March, still managed to beat AC Milan and Vitesse so I'm happy enough. Gutted with the loss to Rangers though. I'll make up for it by giving them a hammering the next time round.

Very happy to have missed Bayern in the draw, would have keen happier with Lorient but can't complain really. Come tough teams left in the competition.

Looking to shake things up in the summer. Players will be broken up into three categories:

Stay unless a big bid is made
Most of the squad.

Maybe look to sell
Stevie May, Joe Ledley and Georginio Wijnaldum.

Look to loan out
Stuart Findlay, Lewis Kidd and Liam Henderson.
