Hi all,

Not really sure where to post this, and I don't use the forum very often. But, my laptop died and I need a new one. I have a low budget and I was thinking of the one below, but does anyone more technically minded know of anything for £300 or less that will run FM well? By well, I mean better than my current which runs on half a star with 2 playable leagues lol

Cheers, I appreciate all your help!

No, the 1.5ghz will not be better than your current. For fm as it is an application with alot of text and processing, however if you watch the matches in 3d engine you might want to consider graphics but many focus on processor ghz and ram. If you can get a 64bit os this gives you much room for upgrades and chances are the initial buy will be enough.

As Tikidazza said, FM is not very taxing on your GPU, but with all the number-crunching and processing it does, you need a decent CPU and a moderate amount of RAM.

Just as a benchmark, my current PC (not laptop) has 8GB of RAM, and a dual-core 3.3GHz processor. I can run the English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Brazilian & Argentinian leagues, all fully-playable and down to the lowest leagues, and with a large database with 3.5* performance. If you can find a laptop with similar specs to that you should be fine.

So doesn't it make a difference that this one is a quad? Will dual be enough? I'm not really up on my stuff to be honest so I guess I need to do some reading. Anywhere a particularly good source of info?

Guessing it would be better than my current. Its a HP Pavillion 3ghz single core 2gb ram. Not terrible by any means but its now 6 years old!

That lenovo worth the bucks then? 2.4 i3 is decent right? Old hat now but affordable power?

Well, I suggest that out of the 3 from a quick glance. As it has a half more than the others on the hard drive more ram 64-bit which depending on the motherboard you can upgrade on. And the processor seems level as the other brought down from "600£" so, yes giving the 3 options I'd probably go with that. Aslong as you are aware that its a step up from your current. Then I see no problem with it. Let a few others make opinions and do more research as it still is alot of money and you want to get best of your money. If you dont do alot of travelling id suggest a desktop tbh. Chew it over before making a decision.

Cheers. We don't have the space for a desktop "just for champs" as my other half puts it haha

Through the telly can be enjoyable if you are prompt properly. Although FM on the tv might not be everyones choice of saturday night programme.
