Knock the Qatar bid all you want but they have three components which will arguably ensure the greatest WC of all time;
1. Close proximity between stadiums
2. Actual infrastructure being built (yes I know what this comes at the cost of)
3. Stadiums being partly dismantled and sent off to Africa
And for people that knock nations like Brazil and South Africa for building big needless stadiums, our 2018 bid had a 46k stadium to be built in Plymouth. Genius.

What, you saying Argyle wouldnt fill a 46k stadium? Madness!

To be fair, FIFA told the Brazilians they only needed 8 stadiums, with a maximum of 10. Brazil built 12, and 4 of those in cities that, by the sounds of things, don't actually have plans for when they're done.
I doubt a successful bid would actually have made use of a 46,000 stadium in Plymouth, or a 44,000 stadium for Bristol City. The clubs couldn't afford that.
If it had won it probably would just have been the 2 London venues (Wembley and Emirates or Olympic), Old Trafford, St. James' Park, Villa Park, Anfield (or a new LFC stadium) and maybe Sunderland, Leeds, a redeveloped Hillsborough and possibly Coventry, even with the Ricoh kerfuffle ongoing.
But whatever. We didn't win anyway because FIFA decided Russia's bid
was more valuable for their cash reserveswas the one they wanted.Crane
The amount of people taking it seriously in the comments is amusing.

Brasilla is the worst venue. Delayed, millions overspent, for a city that doesn't have a top level club.

As much as I hate to say it, Bristol City could comfortable deal with a 44,000 stadium in the current climate. Rovers took over 40,000 for the league 2 play-off final a couple of years ago and City are underwritten by a billionaire. A bit of investment and infrastructure in place and Bristol should have 1 Premier League team and could support 2. We're a million miles off that at the moment I grant you.

Wouldnt FIFA prefer to almost give tickets away and have a full stadium, rather than have alot of empty seats?
