After a qucik browse around the official site for you I came across this page, I recommend trying the second one.

Thanks Rick, but I don't know if that link is taking me to the same it's meant to. There don't appear to be any suggestions on there to fix this

Unhandled Exception in the Host Library 0r Error Message 5 or 740
- Go to Steam Library and go to your Football Manger 14 game and "right click"
- Go to Properties
- Go to tab "Local files"
- Go to "Browse Local files"
- Go to the "bin" folder.
- Right click "FM.exe" executable.
- Go to the "Compatibility" tab.
- Look for the privilege level at the bottom and select "Run this program as administrator"
