As soon as I read that I loaded up my save to check. He actually has a £2.1m realese clause which is even worse!
I have instantly offered him a new contract with a £14m buy out instead. Hopefully he accepts it.

Thanks for the tip Nico!

Our good form carried on after the winter break as we extended our unbeaten run stratching back to early November. But then a loss at Ajax was followed up with a surprise home defeat against lowly Hamburg. Not great for our confidence going into the next game which was the EL 2nd leg against Ajax. But what a response I got from the players as we played out a thrilling 6-4 win, progressing to the next knockout round 7-6 on aggregate to set up a clash against Metalist Kharkiv . They had dumped out Trabzonspor 6-2 in the previous round. Next month sees the German cup resume with a hard away game at Dortmund for us lined up.

League Standings
We remain in contention for a top 4 place, although Frankfurt, Wolfsburg and Leverkusen aren't far behind us. Hertha Berlin's 23 game unbeaten streak came to a sudden stop as they lost 4-1 at home to Leverkusen on the 28th of February. They still remain in 3rd just 3 points behind Bayern in 1st.

Those last 5 minutes against Ajax were a nightmare. They got within 1 goal of an away goals win twice but we managed to see them off.
bmg033
Needless to say i accepted it!

March didn't start off so well, with our mixed form from the end of February carrying on. The loss to Dortmund in the DFB-Pokal wasn't a massive concern though as the league and EL were bigger goals for me this season. A defeat against CL chasing rivals Wolfsburg brought them back in the race, but our Bundesliga form soon improved to keep them behind us. Max Kruse has been incredible so far this season, which has seen both Bayern and Dortmund show an interest in him. Hopefully a spot in next seasons CL will convince him to stay, if it happens that is!
Europe
After that tough tie against Ajax in the previous round, it was nice to play against a weaker team. A comfortable 2-0 away win left us virtually through to the quater-finals. The return leg saw a weakened team get a 1-1 draw to safely progress.
Metalist Kharkiv
In the quarter-finals Lokomotiv provided a tougher challenge than Metalist. We lost the 1st leg in Moscow without scoring, which is always dangerous in the home leg due to the away goals rule. But like the Ajax game, we came back and won to advance to the semi-finals where we will face Roma. It was a nervy last few minutes again as Lokomotiv needed just 1 more goal to win on the away goals rule. Roma will definatly be our hardest test yet in Europe and we will need to show just as much determination to get past them.

League Standings
So after all that, we find ourselves in 3rd place. Should we finish there, that would guarantee entry straight into the CL group stages. 4th position would see us enter in the play offs. Theres only 4 games to go, including an away game at Bayern, but Frankfurt and Wolfsburg are too close for comfort. With the EL semi-final against Roma also to come, it looks like May is going to be an exciting month!

Even if I do somehow beat Roma, I very much doubt i'll win the final. The other semi final is Spurs vs PSG so the winner of that will probably win the final. But the semis in my first season is a good achievement and I never thought i'd get this far!

Thanks, its a tough draw but to get this far in season 1 is awesome!
May - Top 4 & EL Semi to play for
Theres only one place to start, the Europa League semi final against Roma. Clearly, they were expected to win and make the final and they started well with a 2-1 win in the first leg. It looked to be completely over for us until Granit Xhaka grabbed a 90th minute away goal. That was huge. But the big negative from that game wasn't the score. Kramer got a bad injury and was in danger of missing the rest of the season. He has been a key player and may have played his last game on loan from Leverkusen because of the injury. But I have decided not to terminate his loan, just incase he is available for the Bayern game on the last day of the season.
Now, this was unexpected as our Europa League drama continued in the second leg! I decided to go all out attack and see if we could get an early lead. That didn't happen but we kept at it and soon had Roma clinging on to a 0-0. But just 5 minutes before half time Max Kruse smashed in his 10th goal in Europe this season so make it 1-0 on the night and 2-2 in the tie. This would be enough to send us through on away goals, but 1 more goal from Roma would be enough to see them progress. We started the second half like we started the first and were rewarded greatly. Andre Ayew scored 2 minutes into the half to put us 3-2 up in the tie having been 2-0 down at one point in the first leg! It would've been easy to lower our tempo and pressure on Rma, but I didn't want them getting anywhere near our goal. We continued to batter the Roma defence for the rest of the game and thankfully the final whistle came to send us into the final!
May Results
Whilst the drama in the EL continued, so did the Bundesliga. Dortmund had totally collapsed in the last month of the season which meant that 2nd place in the league could be up for grabs for the chasing pack. Good results for us, especially against fellow CL chasing Frankfurt, strengthened our grip on a top 4 place. But a last day trip to Bayern was always a big task and the league champions won convincingly 2-0. So the league campaign was over, but were our results good enough to get our targeted spot in the CL?
Final League Standings
YES they were! Incredible, we started the season with a £4m transfer budget and a tiny squad, but we have done it. We are in the 2015-16 Champions League!
Bundesliga Top Scorer
Our main man this season was definatly Max Kruse. He finished up as the Bundesliga top scorer, just ahead of Thomas Muller. Hopefully our CL spot will be enough to convince him to stay with us and not join Bayern or Dortmund.
New Signing
With Kramer and Hazard leaving at the end of their loan deals, I needed to sign a midfielder. Tom Cleverley was available on a free transfer so I signed him up.
Next up for us, the Europa League final against PSG!

Hopefully. Our hard task has just been made even harder though. This just happened...
He has played every minute of every game this season, so unlucky for him to miss a european final. I've already decided my tactics for the final, sit back and counter. Thats the only way we can really beat them, no way we could do what we did against Roma against PSG. Good news though is that Kramer has been declared fit the day before the final. He will be vital in tracking back to try and stop Ibrahimovic & Cavani. Fingers crossed, now about to kick off.
bmg033
Only player missing for us is Sommer. Cavani is on the bench for PSG although Ibrahimovic leads the line as expected. Didn't realise they had signed Hamsik though!
Dan
bmg033
Thanks, I really didn't expect to get 3rd or even reach the EL quarter final.
Also, 1-0 KRUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just sat back and countered. Hahn ran down the right wing and hit a low cross to Kruse who beat the defender to the ball. A deft touch diverted the ball into the bottom left corner to grab a 1-0 lead. 69 minutes to go.
bmg033
Sloppy goal to concede though. Matuidi was free from a throw in, Kramer went to close him down but left Cabaye free. Cabaye squared it to Hamsik who turned and smashed it in the bottom right corner from about 30 yards.
Tommo.
bmg033
Thanks!
Its looking extremely difficult. PSG are pinning us into our own box. Shot after shot after shot but its 1-1 at half time.
bmg033
UPDATE 1: 1-1 half time in extra time. Think i'll park the bus, maybe even a double decker if I can. Penalties or bust!
UPDATE 2: Nothing happened in 2nd half of extra time. Penalties it is then.

Thanks! Yeah, just a bit crazy!
Europa League Final 2015
Incredible. This was so unexpected, to think I wasn't even sure if we'd make it out the group stage! PSG were so dominant it was unreal. They could've easily had about 10 goals but my reserve team keeper matched them. He'd never played for the first team before, so he made his debut in the final. He'd only ever played for the BMG reserves before today. Janis Blaswich, you legend.
Right thats my lot for now. Will update more later on tonight when I calm down.
