Season 14/15. I'm a Villa fan in real life and have become tired of our players! For this reason (and the fact we start with very little money and high wages). I started the season with putting many players up for sale. Gabby, Bacuna and Delph left the club, Delph as he wanted high wages and signing on fees and his stats aren't that great I'm afraid! I tried to bring in tall players to help the team at set pieces and add better full backs.
The most frustrating thing about my save so far is always being offside, if anyone can help with this it would be much appreciated! this screen shot is from February 2016
We finished 12th in the first season, not one player really stood out...
In the second season I incorporated 2 more formations to complement the 4-2-3-1 from the first as my players didnt seem to enjoy this way of playing.These were 4-2-2-2 wide and 4-3-3 wide. This gave me much better options against various opposition. Here are the transfers...
As you can see I sold Charles, Aly and Libor and signed Aaron Cresswell to provide solid competition at lb to Lucas Aontonelli and Jay Rodriguez to battle Andi for RAM spot. Good young keeper was bought from Juve as well as FM legend Afellay as well, I couldn't help myself! Here is a screen of him one year later, as you can see very talented but declining physically. Curtis Davies came in from relegated Hull for cheap fee as back up to Big Ron and Okore.
We managed to finish 9th overall with 60 points, a great success! I thought we could take 8th but bad GD is my undoing...
Chelsea run away with the league again
Marvin Martin was quite exceptional this year, and got into the Prem team select! Here is my best 11:
So you can see a much improved year!
