Non-EU Players

I'm still playing 2013 version, but my problem probably applies to all versions. I'm managing Montpellier in Ligue 1 and it's been anounced during the season that Serbia entered the European Union, but now even after the season Serbian players still appear as Non-EU. Am I missing something here?
