Hi guys and welcome to my career on sortitoutsi. I hope you enjoy following me through my journey through the weird and wonderful world of football management. Let's get straight to it - my first venture into football is with Dunfermline Athletic. Why you ask? I'm not too sure myself to be honest, but I like giving myself a challenge and expect this to be a great starting point. But also, given Dunfermline's status in Scottish football and their facilities (such as their stadium, East End Park, holding nearly 12,000), that straight away indicated to me that they should be in a much higher position than Scottish League One.
Starting Attributes
I'm starting with no coaching qualifications and Sunday League footballer past experience. Said I liked a challenge, eh? I am to work through the ranks and being more qualified and enhance my managerial reputation.
Budgets
A £20k transfer budget and £1.1k wages available to bring new players in. I wasn't expecting the board to be this generous and feel I will be able to improve the squad well with these resources.
Expectations
The expectations are high, but given the fact we missed out narrowly on promotion last season I kind of expected this. Nonetheless, it is a challenge, but one I am really looking forward to!
Finances
The club is in an okay financial position, but the projected figure isn't good and I will have to look into making sure we end the season with some money in the bank.
Backroom Staff
This is one area I need improvement on. I like to have the highest possible standard of coaches possible/available so will definitely be looking to enhance this.

Coaching Qualification
I thought I would start this update with the news that I have started working towards my National C License. This is great news and I have wasted no time in getting my first coaching badge.
Changes to Backroom Staff
I mentioned in the introduction that I wanted to sort out our coaching staff - I've done that. I feel that coaching wise we are a lot stronger than we were and this means that the players are going to get more out of training, which is great.
Transfer Activity
A fairly quiet pre-season in terms of transfer activity; with only three players coming in and no outgoings, although I did terminate Ryan Scully's loan from Patrick Thistle as Filip Mentel was a better option to have, and on a permanent basis. I am happy with the business that we did though and think we strengthened in areas we needed to.
Squad
Here is the complete senior squad then. As I just mentioned, I am very pleased with what I have at my disposal, especially in the attacking areas. I think this group of players will definitely have the ability to mount a challenge for the title.
Results
Results during pre-season haven't been great with two draws and a loss coming from our three games. However, these were all against teams from higher divisions so we did well to not lose all three and there a most certainly positives to take into the start of the season.

Results
An unbelievable July/August, look at all those green dots! Four wins out of four and progression to the 3rd round of the Challenge Cup have meant my first month and a bit has been brilliant. The only defeat came to SPL side Hamilton away from home in the League Cup 2nd round, although I guess this was expected.
Table
Our 100% league start has meant we have opened up a three point cushion at the top of SL1, scoring 11 goals and only conceding 2. Title favourite Morton have won two and lost two of their opening four games, meaning we have a six point advantage over them at this early stage.
Other
MOTM award for myself after our terrific start in what has been a perfect start to football management in Scotland.
Winger Falssal El Bakhtaoui picked up the SL1 Young POTM which is great for him and was duly deserved. He has been fantastic so far and hopefully his and the team's form can continue.
