After what appears to be a disagreement in direction and approach Sheffield United have parted company with Nigel Clough.
It appears that The Blades want a fresh approach with a high priority of getting The Blades back into The Championship after an all to lengthy stay in League One.
Much speculation has been made about the next Blades boss but whilst co-chairman Jim Phipps has not given anything away on twitter he has said the right appointment needs to be made quickly.
The Bookies have Nigel Adkins set as favorite, surprisingly Sheffield FC assistant manager and sports scientist for the Canadian football association Jonathan Gascoigne (a life long Blades fan) is second in the running, many Blades fans are of the opinion this would be a risky move.

Despite his odds falling to 13/1 and Nigel Adkins odds shortening to make him evens and still the favorite to be the Next Blades boss a huge shock could be on the cards.
The odds will surely change as today Gascoigne has left his position as the Assistant Manager of Sheffield FC along with resigning from his role within the Canadian Football Association.
Gascoigne had a short lived playing career having to retire due to injury at the age of 24.

Sheffield United today shocked fans, bookmakers and many journalists today. When the club announced that a press conference would take place to unveil the new manager today we all expected Nigel Adkins to be sat answering questions.
But the thirty seven year old former Sheffield FC assistant instead greeted cameras and inquisition.
Co-Chairman's Jim Phipps and Kevin McCabe sat along Gascoigne, they made it clear, up until the interview Process Adkins was virtually guaranteed the position.
Jim Phipps addressed why Gascoigne was chosen.
"Jonathan came, we had already interviewed a lot of candidates and we had at that stage believed we had our man, but Jonathan interview just blew us away. Whilst many will say he lacks experience he has been lecturing in sports science and phycology for years, he has worked within many different National Associations including The USA, Mexico, Wales, Japan and most recently in Canada. Its anew era, a new approach."
McCabe added,
"Our previous manager was an old fashioned manager, the game has moved on and we became exposed, we believe that Jonathan is the right man to lead The Blades forward and help the club evolve."
Gascoigne made it clear that he has "dreamt of this moment for years", when asked about which competition he would focus on he claimed like the fans the league was his main and biggest priority, having narrowly missed out on promotion last season Gascoigne added calmly "This year we will take that extra step."
