AFC Champions League + AFC Cup with new structure
- All countries in Asia have 3 teams to enter (ex. China, South Korea and Japan have 4)
- 2 qualifying rounds, 88 in 1round and 44 teams begin in 2round
- 44 teams enter at the Group Stage + 12 champions from high-ranked countries
- The Group Stage contains 56 teams (8 groups)
- 16 teams progress to the Knock-Out Rund
- 44 losing teams from LC 2round enter Group Stage
- The Group Stage contains 44 teams (4 groups)
- 10 games at Group Stage
- 8 teams progress to Quarter-final
-no match rule restrictions (like in UEFA Champs League)
-Prize money added
Update (07.09.2018):
- now 4 teams from each group advance to the next round (team seeded in play-off througt points in group stage)
- games in AFC Cup now played in July and August as well (to prevent too much games played in spring)
