Why the player is not developed like Messi or Ronaldo

I transferred a regen with 192 PA and 110 CA. I played 1 season and here the profile:



Then I wanted to see how will he develop and I go holiday for 6 years. After that the profile is:



He trained well (182 CA) but not like Messi or C. Ronaldo.

Potential Ability is just that, Potential, it's not guaranteed, that does go both ways of course, meaning they can exceed it (I believe, I may be mistaken there), but it's down to the player's attitude, training, how much football he gets, how well he's coached.. there's lots of factors that go into a players development (just like in the real world). Also he's only 23, he has a lot of growing to do, and could still be bettering his game by 26-28. Be patient!
