Had the chances but just couldn't take them. Most annoying thing is that our own striker Lee Young-Joon sealed the win for Kaiserslautern.

F*ck.

Just added up the value of all the above players combined. If we were to sell every one of those players at their current value we would get £401 million.

Wow.

Right, my two months is up and I have made quite a few changes to the squad. I have let quite a few players leave the club, mostly were just crappy youngsters whose contracts had expired but I have let a few big names leave on loan. OUTGOING x1 + OUTGOING x 2 - the most notable departures are Ospina, Mason, Castro, Bittencourt and Kelechi as well as allowing some talented youngsters such as Lopes, Young-Joon and Mitrovic leave on loan.

In terms of incomings, I am really happy with the players that have come in this transfer window.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/eh8E1UbGnKxSSQVXi57JP4BGa7MeOLuprUChcqop.png

As we haven't done this for a while, please find below screenies of our current squad. On paper, this side is definitely good enough to be challenging Bayern for the Bundesliga as well competing in the Champions League.

Goalkeepers

28 - Simone Scuffet - Only starting keeper after joining at the start of last season from Udinese. Still got a good few years left in him.
1 - Abdulhamit Celik - New signing and a highly rated young keeper from Turkey. Has a bright future.

Right Backs

16 - Joshua Kimmich - Entering his third season at the club since joining from Juventus. Naturally a CDM but a good quality RB. Barcelona were sniffing around him last month.
12 - Pascal Fofana - Brilliant young defender who can play LB,CB or RB. Only 20 years old and entering his third season at the club.

Left Backs

17 - Para - Attacking left back who can also play LM. Impressed last season in his first season at the club. Was subject of a bid from Atletico Madrid last month which was knocked back.

Centre Backs

24 - Esteban Sanchez - In my opinion, this lad could become one of the best CB's on the game. Featured 17 times last season, should be starter this season.
3 - Maik Knoll - Come through our youth academy and called up to the senior squad this season. Been capped by the German Under 19 side.
5 - Phil Jones - Former Manchester United and Chelsea CB. Entering his fourth season at the club, experienced head for the younger lads.
20 - Thorsten Oesterhelweg - Another one who has progressed through our youth academy. Been capped by the German national side and can also play RB.

Centre Midfielders

7 - Nick Powell - Entering his fifth season at the club since joining us from Manchester United. Surprisingly, he has never been capped by England.
22 - Gianluca Gaudino - Entering his third season at the club, a good all round CM to have in the squad. German too which is a bonus.
6 - Nahruel Barros - New signing who has recommended by our scouts. Only 18 years old, definitely one for the future.
15 - Amar Bouadia - Joined us three seasons ago and has spent the last two seasons out on loan. At 19 years old, he is another one for the future but one I feel would not look out of place in this side.
19 - Alen Halilovic - Summer signing and a player I have had my eye on for a while. Great stats and still at a good age, will hopefully be a top player for us.
23 - Sven Surma - Been with us since the start of this career so I think we all have a bit of affection for this guy. Still young but really needs to push on this season if he is to have a future here.

Right Midfielders

11 - Lucas Ocampos - Can play on either the right or the left wing. Had a great first season for us last season and hoping for even better this season.
8 - Diego Sosa - New signing from Argentinian side Rosario Central. Has not been capped for the full national side but can't see it being too long before that happens.
45 - Maximillian Meyer - Talented midfielder who can play either RM, LM or CM. German international and a good age too. Big fan of this player.

Left Midfielders

21 - Jack Grealish - Our highest valued player in the side and entering his third season at the club. Been attracting interest from Bayern and Real Madrid in the past month. Regular for the England national side, not a bad player for a free transfer!
14 - Maximillian Arnold - Classy player who can play LM, CM or RM. German player too which is a bonus. Actually came through our youth academy before moving onto Wolfsburg, Bayern and then back to ourselves.
25 - Nabil Fekir - New signing after joining on a free transfer from Lyon. Been a key player there for a few seasons- adds depth to our squad.

Strikers

10 - Kevin Volland - Our highest paid player on a massive £125k a week. Managed 21 goals last season and entering his second season at the club since joining from Real Madrid.
4 - Abel Casquete - New signing from Barcelona on a free transfer. Signed from River Plate as a youngster but has lost his way in recent seasons. Excited about this lad.
9 - Alberto Cerri - This man needs no introduction. Only captain and key man entering his fourth season at the club. Cerri has scored 90 goals in past three seasons in all competitions. Simply amazing and somehow still not been capped for the Italian national side.
18 - Ignacio Russiani - Joins on loan from PSG- Been capped by the Argentinian national side. Definitely a good back up.
29 - Mahmoud Mohamed - Spent last season out on loan and did well and deserves a chance in the first team.

Will upload now.

Brought in this guy as his replacement. At 18 years old he looks brilliant and definitely one for the future as being a more than handy number two for Scuffet. He turned down PSG to join us. Signed for an initial fee £400k with £2.5 million being made over 48 months.

Boyd Delighted With Unexpected Promotion

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/2hZsQvQnxGxl6acAWealKNWo6IInN026Z0Z15zG1.png

Hartlepool United will be plying their trade in the SkyBet League One next season thanks to yesterdays Play Off Final win against Notts County. Despite losing in the Play Off Semi Finals last season, Hartlepool were not expected to be in the promotion mix this season. Hartlepool are expected to have one of the lowest budgets in League One next season and will be clear favourites for relegation.

Hartlepool manager Adam Boyd has been in charge at the club for two seasons after taking over from Ronnie Moore. Boyd could not hide his delight at winning promotion to League One: " When I took over here two seasons ago I had a lot of critics doubting my ability to be a manager. We were favourites for relegation in my first season at the club and to win promotion this season is amazing, it's like a dream. People will write us off but I am sure we can survive next season if we recruit well this Summer. We will not be making wholesale changes however, these lads deserve their shot at a higher level". Hartlepool's retained list is set to be announced in the coming days.

@Shedender - Thank you once again for the comment mate. Fingers crossed on next season, surviving has to be my number 1 priority.
@Dan - Thanks Dan, really glad we managed to get through at the end of I thought we had blown it. Glad you liked the last update, took me a while as I had to pause and write up every time anything of note occurred but glad you enjoyed it mate.
@Suffolk Seasider - It was very nervy! I would of been devastated if we would of lost it on penalites- good old Rakish Bingham saved the day... He managed 16 goals from RM this season.

Notts County v Hartlepool United: Live Commentary

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/CWkZJQRIRIttvI4SuADPviL1b3vZFd7l6rkyXGLv.png

Notts County Starting XI: Loach; Hewitt, Fry, Amevor, Adams; Thompson, Phillips, Palmer, Saville, Waters; Pope.
Subs: Butler, Ajayi, Milsom, Lager, De SIlva, Kusunga, Bennett.

Hartlepool United Starting XI: Carson; Duckworth, Worley, Harrison, Carroll; Bingham, Walker, Hollands (c), Nelson-Addy, Blair; Fenwick.
Subs: Guthrie, Szmodics, Williams, Hippolyte, Gallagher, Lookman, Reid.

---

1': KICK OFF: Scott Fenwick and Ebby Nelson-Addy get the game underway for Hartlepool in what is undoubtably the biggest match of the season for these two clubs.
7': Michael Duckworth brings down Notts County midfielder George Saville in the middle of the park. Notts County fans are wanting a yellow card but the referee is only giving him a talking to.
20': YELLOW CARD- Hartlepool left back Jake Carroll has been given a yellow yard for a foul on the impressive George Saville. Carroll will need to be careful for the rest of this game.
21': Matty Blair nearly opens the deadlock for Hartlepool after some great work by Scott Fenwick found the winger a shooting opportunity but his effort was well parried by goalkeeper Scott Loach.
43': YELLOW CARD- Notts County midfielder Blair Adams has picked up a yellow card after a needless goal on Hartlepool winger Rakish Bingham.
44' YELLOW CARD- Hartlepool centre midfielder Ebby Nelson-Addy has been awarded a yellow card after a poor tackle on Notts County right back Elliot Hewitt. Lucky to get away with a yellow there.
45' HALF TIME- HARTLEPOOL UNITED 0-0 NOTTS COUNTY You can tell both sides are scared about making a mistake. A match of limited opportunities so far. It looks like it will either take a moment of madness or a moment of genius to open up this game.
45': KICK OFF: Jamie Pope and Matt Palmer get the game back underway for Notts County. Neither side has made a change as of yet.
48': HARTLEPOOL SUBSTITUTION- Matty Blair leaves the field for Hartlepool and has been replaced by Sammie Szmodics. Szmodics will of been unhappy not to start as he has scored in his past three matches, now is his time to shine.
53': NOTTS COUNTY SUBSTITUTION- Striker Jamie Pope leaves the field to be replaced by 17-year old Liam Lager. This is Lager's debut for Notts County and what a time to make it. Could he be Notts County's hero this afternoon?
66': NOTTS COUNTY SUBSTITUTION- Centre midfielder Matt Palmer has come off to be replaced by Robert Milsom who will slot in at centre midfield in a like for like change.
72': NOTTS COUNTY SUBSTITUTION- Notts County make their final change as Elliot Hewitt is replaced by former Arsenal youngster Semi Ajayi.
76': HARTLEPOOL SUBSTITUTION- Hartlepool Captain Danny Hollands has been replaced by Jake Gallagher. The former Portsmouth man looks devastated to be coming off but did seem tired in the middle of the park.
81': GOAL FOR HARTLEPOOL!- Rakish Bingham has opened the deadlock for Hartlepool with only ten minutes remaining. There was some great work between Jake Carroll and Sammie Szmodics on the left hand side. Carroll whipped in a cross to the far post to Bingham who headed the ball home for his sixteenth goal of the season!
83': HARTLEPOOL SUBSTITUTION- Hartlepool striker Scott Fenwick is making his way to the bench to be replaced by striker Bradley Reid. Fenwick has played really well for Hartlepool to be fair but Reid is a pacey player and could hurt Notts County's tired legs late on.
89': GOAL FOR HARTLEPOOL!- Substitute Sammie Szmodics looks to have sealed promotion for Hartlepool! Nelson-Addy has been an absolute warrior for Adam Boyd's side this afternoon, he played the ball to the advancing wing back Duckworth who drilled a ball low across the area to Szmodics who had the simplest of finishes! Szmodics has now scored in his last four matches!
90': FULL TIME- HARTLEPOOL UNITED 2-0 NOTTS COUNTY Hartlepool have won promotion to the SkyBet League One! In what was an extremely nervy match, two goals in the last ten minutes for Hartlepool have won them the game. Rakish Bingham scored a great first goal and as Notts County pushed for an equaliser, Hartlepool made them pay with some good football which was finished off by Sammie Szmodics. What a brilliant day to be a Hartlepool supporter!

Hartlepool To Face Notts County In The Play Off Final

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/adpAOAn9P3yY4AppWzh7wC7ykgMKK1ffLGNHavWj.png

Hartlepool United will face Notts County in the SkyBet League Two Play Off Final in three days time. Notts County finished fifth in the league this season and beat Carlisle 4-3 on aggregate in their Play Off Semi Final.

Both matches between the pair this season have been high goalscoring encounters. In the first meeting at Victoria Park, Hartlepool won by three goals to two thanks to two late goals from Kristian Dennis. However, the reverse fixture ended in a three-two win to Notts County as a Scott Fenwick brace was not enough for Hartlepool to come away with a result. Despite finishing 11th last season, Notts County were one of the favourites for promotion this season and are bound to be favourites going into Saturday's match against Hartlepool.

Hartlepool will face Notts County in the SkyBet League Two Play Off final despite losing to AFC Wimbledon by three goals to two this evening. AFC Wimbledon went all out attack as they pushed for a place in the Play Off Final however their win was not enough as Hartlepool progress.

Lateef Elford-Alliyu and Brandon Adams struck two early goals for AFC Wimbledon to put the pressure on Hartlepool however Scott Fenwick's composed finish settled the away side's nerves. Montell Moore then made it three-one to the home side when he flicked in a header just before half time. Substitute Sammie Szmodics pulled a goal back for Hartlepool as AFC Wimbledon were hit on the counter attack as Szmodics calmly slotted under the goalkeeper. Hartlepool are now one match away from the SkyBet League One as they face Notts County in the Play Off Final in four days time.

Hartlepool produced one of the best performances of their season so far as they convincingly beat AFC Wimbledon in their Play Off Semi Final. Rakish Bingham, Matty Blair, Sammie Szmodics and Ryan Williams all found the net for Adam Boyd's side to ensure they have one foot in the League Two Play Off Final.

In a nervy first half Hartlepool took the lead thanks to fine strike from in-form winger Rakish Bingham who beat his man and slotted home from a tight angle. Hartlepool made it two just before the break when on-loan winger Matty Blair was fed through by Scott Fenwick as he made no mistake finishing off the one-on-one. Hartlepool pushed for a third and got it through substitute Sammie Szmodics as he poked home before Ryan Williams scored his first goal for the club with a fine free kick from the edge of the area. Hartlepool travel to AFC Wimbledon for the second leg of the tie in a week's time.

Hartlepool's Top Goalscorer Hepburn-Murphy Ruled Out For The Season

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/LIzTfaBkDttNyT0EJ8YfIBGNW3odbY8GiAZRKLO5.png

Hartlepool United have been dealt a bitter blow on the eve of their Play Off Semi Final against AFC Wimbledon. Twenty-three goal striker Rushian Hepburn-Murphy has been ruled out for two months with a sprained right ankle and has most likely played his last game for the club.

Rushian Hepburn-Murphy has been Hartlepool's top goalscorer this season and has now returned to his parent club Aston Villa due to the injury. Adam Boyd could not hide his disappointment at the injury of the talented youngster: " It's a huge blow for us and we will definitely miss him. We brought him off against Crewe as a precaution so we are devastated to find out the full extent of the injury. We would not be in this position without him and we thank him for that. Hopefully we will see him again in Hartlepool shirt but we need to concentrate on tomorrow's match and hopefully ensure we gain a win for Rushian who I know is absolutely devastated". Boyd also revealed that centre midfielder Pelly Ruddock has also been ruled out for the rest of the season after twisting his ankle in training in a double blow for Hartlepool.

Hartlepool have secured their place in the SkyBet League Two Play Offs with a fine win against Crewe Alexandra. Scott Fenwick hit his thirteenth goal of the season while Sammie Szmodics also found the scoresheet to set up a Play Off Semi Final against AFC Wimbledon.

Hartlepool's top goalscorer Rushian Hepburn-Murphy was taken off with an injury in the first half and it was his replacement: Fenwick, who found the opener. Pelly Ruddock produced a great ball from the right for Fenwick to poke the ball in at the near post. Sammie Szmodics, who also started the match as substitute then sealed the win for Hartlepool when he curled the ball into the top corner after being played in by Michael Duckworth. This is now the second consecutive season that Hartlepool have made the Play Offs.

Crewe and Hartlepool In Final Day Showdown

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/kD1W15bR5xs0lLIyTeu9Yt8Ij0DATy1cf0CUxT3c.png

Hartlepool United face Crewe Alexandra next Saturday in the most important match of their season so far. With only one match to go, Hartlepool can secure a play off spot with either a win or a draw against Crewe however, if Crewe manage a win, then Hartlepool will fall out of the play off places.

Hartlepool manager Adam Boyd has dubbed this match the club's most important match so far under his tenure: "Our form hasn't been great lately but this match is like a cup final for us. We will be going out there to grab a win as if we sit back, it invites pressure onto ourselves. We need to get a result against Crewe who are a good side but I am sure we can do it. We deserve to be in the play offs and I am hopeful that come 5 o'clock on Saturday, that we will be there."

Gary Roberts grabbed a brace for Champions Portsmouth as they convincingly beat play off contenders Hartlepool. Rushian Hepburn-Murphy grabbed his twenty-third goal of the season for Hartlepool but it was not enough for Adam Boyd's side.

Gary Roberts scored his first goal with a fine strike from range before scoring his second from the penalty spot after he was brought down. Rushian Hepburn-Murphy kept up his fantastic form with a goal just after the half hour mark however Hartlepool could not find an equaliser as they failed to secure their place in the play offs. Adam Boyd's side face Crewe in what could be their final match of the season.

Hartlepool's top goalscorer Rushian Hepburn-Murphy hit a double to help see off a resilient Barnet side. Rakish Bingham and Brad Walker also found the scoresheet for Hartlepool whilst Greg Luer grabbed a brace for the away side.
