#342749 The Career of Fola
Fola
It's a shame as this will probably see him out for the season. He's done OK too since he's joined but we will have to get on without him.

Starting XI: Walker; Pipe, Paine©, N'Gala, Habergham; Emmanuel, Miles, Woodyard, Isaac*, Sparkes; Akinola**.
Subs: Davis, Nolan, Strevens*, Brundle*, Payne**.
Perfect away performance against Gateshead. We managed to get two early goals from set pieces and continued to dominate for the rest of the match. Easy.
Braintree Man Of The Match: Alex Woodyard (8.7)
League Position: 3rd

Decided to play the same side despite only playing two matches a go and it worked a treat. We went a goal down early on but fought back and deserved the win in fairness. I can't see anybody beating us on this form. We've moved into the play off positions too which is pleasing.
Braintree Man Of The Match: Daniel Sparkes (8.9)
League Position: 5th

@Benignsource I'm back! We played really well in this one and centre back Bondz N'Gala's early goal was enough to grab us the win. It should of been more to be honest but we missed a few chances. Nice to keep up the unbeaten run.
Braintree Man Of The Match: Kenny Davis (9.0)
League Position: 6th

I hope so mate. It may be with Braintree if we can keep up this form.

We managed a draw in a hard fought match away at Dagenham. We went ahead early on through Captain Kenny Davis before they equalised. Simeon Akinola showed why he is keeping top goalscorer Stefan Payne out of the side with a great finish but we couldn't hold on. Not including the penalty loss against Cheltenham, we are now 15 games unbeaten.
Braintree Man Of The Match: Daniel Sparkes (7.6)

To be honest, I am really not bothered about this competition but it's nice to get another win. Simeon Akinola scored two classy goals before the in-form Moses Emmanuel secured the win for us. Nice to see Akinola hitting a bit of form.

Bore draw. Fair play to Telford as they defended well but we were out of form today and couldn't break them down. Nice to keep our unbeaten run up though.

What a win and what a great performance from the lads. Barrow were sitting in third position in the table but we more than deserved our win. Mitch Brundle came off the bench to head in the winner before a rare goal and appearance from Charlie Strutton off the bench secured us the win. The Play Offs are getting closer.

Brilliant win against a strong Eastleigh side. We dominated from start to finish in a win what should of been more. We defended fantastically and Moses Emmanuel's sixth goal of the season was enough to gain us the win. We face Barrow next who are third in the league.
Braintree Man Of The Match: Kenny Davis (7.8)

After all of the speculation linking me away from the club, it was nice to get a clear answer so I can concentrate on Braintree. Simeon Akinola was given a rare start and he didn't disappoint as he scored a fine equaliser for us. He was a player who I was expecting big things of, lets hope this is the start of something.
Braintree Man Of The Match: Daniel Sparkes (8.9)

Well that's the end of that then. It's a shame because I was probably going to take the job. I am enjoying my time at Braintree but the opportunity to join a club with the stature of Northampton doesn't come along every day. I will not be actively looking for a new job mind, I will be looking to gain an unexpected promotion with Braintree.

Still no word from Northampton so still fully focused on doing well here at Braintree. In a close game, we were denied due to a late goal from Lincoln. Moses Emmanuel scored a great goal for us on the hour mark.
Braintree Man Of The Match: Moses Emmanuel (7.6)

Thank you for the comments lads. I have taken your comments on board and will have to make a decision when they get back to me. With all the job speculation, I still had a job to do at Braintree against Cheltenham. Unfortunately after a good performance from the lads, we ended up losing out on penalties.

Ah, decision time. Northampton are currently bottom of the League Two table and have offered me the chance of an interview. On paper, they are a much bigger side than Braintree so it is definitely appealing. On the flip side, they are currently in administration which would mean I would not be able to bring in any players if I was offered the job. I have decided to go to the interview and see what happens. Completely undecided at the moment. @Dan, @Suffolk Seasider, @Shedender, what do you think I should do?
#341464 The Career of Fola

Twenty matches in and despite our poor start to the league campaign, we are sitting two points away from the Play Off positions. We are thirteen points off relegation so the Play Offs really need to be our aim now.
#341463 The Career of Fola

It's a real shame to seeing Modeste ruled out for pretty much the rest of the season. He has had a few knocks recently so had been in and out of the team but he had really come into form recently. Time for Moses Emmanuel to step up and make that left midfield birth his own.

Made a few changes for this one and decided to throw Chez Isaac straight into the side following his injury. We dominated from start to finish and despite conceding a weak penalty late on, we managed to come away with the win.

Bondz N'Gala's second half header was enough to gain a replay against Cheltenham. We played quite a rotated side and it is pleasing to have avoided defeat. Looking forward to seeing how we fare in the replay.

Disappointed to not get the win but really happy to have kept up our unbeaten run. I decided to give Ben Strevens a start and he did well grabbing an assist for Habergham's goal. It was Sam Habergham's first goal of his career.

We have completed the signing of experienced midfielder/striker Ben Strevens. He will come in and work with the youth team as well as giving me an option on the pitch. He made 32 appearances last season at this level for Eastleigh so I think he still has the quality at this level.

What a fantastic win against top of the table Tranmere. Kenny Davis is having an absolutely amazing season and scored another two goals for us. He started off at right back before I moved him to centre midfield at half time. We are on some good form now and hopefully can reach the Play Offs if this continues.

We played a slightly rotated side for this one but we still managed to grab a deserved win against Non-League Frickley. It would be nice to have a Cup run as it would help our finances so it will be interesting to see how we do. We have drawn fellow Conference side Cheltenham in the First Round proper.

Torquay were bottom of the league going into this one so it would of nice to have got a win. However, to grab a draw away from home with ten men is pleasing. Just hope we don't miss N'Gala too much as he gained a straight red so his ban may be extended.

Back to winning ways with a great win against Macclesfield. Our attacking threat was too much for Macclesfield as we managed to score four top quality goals (not sure why it was given an OG as it looked like Payne scored it). Nice to stop the rot of back to back defeats.

Only ruled out for two weeks but still gutted that he's injured. He's been fantastic for us recently. Captain Fantastic.

Outclassed from start to finish against bottom placed Ebbsfleet. I am not sure what has happened to the lads in the last few matches but I do not like it. I may look at changing the system slightly to see if we can get out of this rut as we are moving closer and closer to the relegation zone.

Disappointing defeat against a average Whitehawk side. We just didn't turn up for this one and deserved to lose. We face bottom placed Ebbsfleet next so expecting a win. Another Kenny Davis MOTM, he's on some great form.

Good to see the heavy defeat against Bristol Rovers didn't affect the lad's morale much as we comfortably beat Tamworth. Kenny Davis moved to left midfield this match and he managed to get another Man Of The Match. What a player.

Clean sweep for the lads in terms of the Conference monthly awards. Can't really argue with them. Captain Kenny Davis has seen himself moved to right back this season from his natural centre midfield role and he's done brilliant for me. Moses Emmanuel has settled in well and scored some important goals since his Summer move from Bromley. Taylor Miles is a great player at this level with potential to play higher.
