I did everything like you too, except I copied and pasted the cut into new 180x180 file, maybe that's why it showed weird pixes around. I'll try it out and get back to you. Thank you for the step by step images!

Miksa, the effect pacouk is describing can easily be seen in this video and it's really very easy. It takes only a few further seconds of your time and I think it would really improve the quality of your cut-outs

I paid a lot of attention on that in Nancy pack for example, so expect even better quality cuts from now on.
