like sheriff says, there is no magic formula, but you should just take a chance sometimes and trust your instinct. if he looks good and is playing well then stick with him! form and confidence play a massive part.
also praising and bollocking him when he needs it helps!

if it were me, both look the unfinished article. I dare say they will both will get a stat boost come FM16 because of the teams they have signed for. Martial will get the biggest increase which is completely unfair...
Both of these lads are hardly worth their fee in FM15. Both have potential but that's about it.

Probably best as an advanced playmaker rather than a winger due to his age and slowness. But Jaroslav has caps for the Czech Republic and still would be a key player for Southend at £625 a week.

May I present Ariza Makukula. He is a cracking Portuguese capped target man who has some fantastic stats. He may be 33 but he will score goals for fun for Southend in League Two. His wages may use most of your budget and you will have to promise him key player, but I think he's worth every penny at that level.

this lad is one of the best talents in German football and I was chuffed when I got him so cheaply. he ticks all of the AMC boxes. IRL he has been tracked by top clubs but a recent serious injury didn't do him any favours. if you need a decent affordable young attacking playmaker then look no further than this guy.

this lad has been a big favourite for a while with me and I always sign him. can be picked up for around the £5m mark at the start of a new game and with regular playing time as a ball winner, he becomes excellent. another German U21 international IRL.

I absolutely love this keeper. he has a healthy buyout clause of £6.75m and he is worth every penny. he rapidly progresses into a quality first team goalie when given first team playing time. part of the German U21 squad and widely tipped for better things after forcing his way into the FC Koln squad at such a tender age.

now we are becoming obscure! I love this DC. Juan has some lovely all round stats and also is half Spanish so a WP isn't a problem. just needs a decent team to give him a chance, and at around £2.5m yeah he's worth a shout!

Mario has been a big part of Sparta Prague's defensive set up for a while and probable hasn't won as many caps as he should have. but there is no getting away from the fact that he has some great stats FM wise and for a very cheap price.
