Not much to say really. Matty Hughes is a decent signing and plays either AMR or AML, and Tony Thompson is a fairly bog-standard keeper who replaced the keeper we had last season who was a loanee from Man City.
All outgoings were fringe players who were hogging up the wage budget.

One clean sheet was miraculous. Two, and in a row? UNBELIEVABLE JEFF! A great game where we pretty much were just hanging in there for most of the game against 2nd placed Alfreton. Two late goals from 2 substitutes no less earned us a vital 3 points.
Obviously my outstanding managerial ability is rubbing off on the players now, as we record another clean sheet and take another 3 points, this time against Stalybridge who were probably the worst team we have faced this season. Three first half goals and we just cruised the second half and saw out an easy 3-0 win.
I'd be lying if I said a draw was a good result. Tamworth were bottom of the league, but they caused us a fair few problems early on. Second half it was all Hyde, and we should have won. Oh well, another clean sheet is great though.
Very poor game. Leamington had three penalties, but could only convert one of them. We only managed 5 shots all game. We deserved to lose, simple as.
FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round
Unlucky loss to inferior opposition, but we simply got hit on the counter 3 times and they scored all 3 times. Oh well, the FA Cup will have to wait another year.
2 wins, a draw and a loss this month. Could have been better, but I'll take it. At least I seem to have plugged up our leaky defence in the league at least.
An update on transfers will be coming in a seperate post.

I was too busy trying to nudge the squad around and get some new fresh players in. I'll post a full review of all transfer activity at the end of the next month.
August 2015
Our opening game of the season against newly-promoted Hereford. They are tipped to win the league at 5/1, but we put in a decent performance before falling to a sloppy goal from a corner 18 minutes from time.
Much better performance, with the brace from 15-year old youth player Derek Pilsbury the highlight for me. 61% possession is great to see too.
After the result against Harrogate, I was hoping to kick on and take another win, but it wasn't to be. Joel Ambalu's first-half hat-trick had us 3-0 and our heads dropped. We had plenty of attempts 2nd half but never really looked like getting back into it.
Argh! Another early goal conceded and it's always going to be hard to come back away from home. O'Connor's sending off made things even tougher 2nd half.
Oh dear, another heavy defeat, and our poor run is taking its toll on the players, as we had 7 (seven) bookings for 7 different players. We got fined after the game for failing to control our players. We committed 28 fouls :O.
Technically not August but shhhh!
A WIN! We stopped our average of about 8 goals conceded a game and kept a clean sheet! We also bagged 2 great goals to stop the rot (sort of).
Currently sitting in 17th. It's been a poor month, but our performances haven't been atrocious, just our defending .

Thanks Dan, I wanted to get a full season under my belt first, just incase I decided to call it quits.

In this career, I started unemployed with no coaching badges and only Sunday League experience, and also with just the English leagues (down to the Conference N/S) loaded, as I don't exactly plan on jumping ship over to Europe until I've established myself as a decent manager in England first.
I have already finished the 1st season, so the rest of the post will be a quick summary of my first season.
After around 2 months of selling fake Ray Ban sunglasses on Bilston Market, Hyde were looking for a new manager and I applied. A decent interview later, and im the new boss. No sweat.
After suffering the ignominy of relegation and just 10 points to boot last season, Hyde are currently plying their trade in the newly-named Vanarama Conference North. I arrive with the wage budget already exceeded by nearly £600 a week, and a transfer budget of £5k. I have promised the board that a mid-table finish will be attainable, and that I will bring the wages under control. I inherited a fairly small squad, but I kind of prefer that as there is less deadwood to get rid of.
End-of-season
A fairly nervy season to be honest. As you can see from the league position graph, we were in the lower reaches of the table for much of the season. My job was under question for a few poor home defeats in the middle of the season, but we gradually started to put together a few results, and finished the season undefeated in 10 games. This gives me confidence for next season as we pulled out some great results against teams above us, and we also did the double over league winners Lowestoft. With a few new faces and a better start, im confident we can at least make the playoffs.
Anyway, I'll start doing monthly updates from here on out.

An overall more consistent season saw us just about end up on top of the league on the final day of the season. The last 9 games of the season saw us constantly switching between 1st & 2nd with both PSV and Ajax. Fortunately PSV fell away with a few draws towards the end of the season, and Ajax lost 1-0 away to FC Groningen on the penultimate fixture of their season. Fortunately we had a rather easy final fixture at home against Willem II which ended up in us taking the league.
In the KNVB Cup we again got all the way to the final before losing to Ajax. The Europa League group draw was a bit lenient on us, with only one defeat in the group stages. We had a tricky draw against Dnipro in the 1st KO round which we just about managed to win 3-2 on aggregate, and then pretty much dominated Braga in the next round. With some top teams in the Quarter-Final draw, I was happy with a draw against Dynamo Kyiv, but we never got going in either legs and ended up going out 4-1 on aggregate.
Much improved league form, and a decent run in both cups stands us in good stead for the final season. Champions League success next season is very unlikely, but should be a good test for my much-improved Feyenoord side.

Haha, almost all the games have been pretty enjoyable to watch so far. I did stick FM on during the Iran Nigeria game though. I have finished my 2nd season now so will post up an update probably after the Brazil game.

Ah very nice. Clasie had a moan about wanting to go to a bigger club at the end of the 1st season, but nobody came in for him and he asked to be removed from the transfer list. I have shipped Tonny Vilhena off on-loan to Malaga for the year as he was ineffective first season. They even paid me £100k per month for the privilege.

I would have taken 5th first season, haha.
I have just started 2nd season and signed a few loan players which I don't normally do. Got quite a good team this time around, although could have been strengthened more as Valencia offered £22m for Martins Indi which I accepted and planned to sign some new talent, but they called off the transfer as they couldn't free up the funds. I also will probably offload Gaibor as he is the whiniest player ever, I think he has asked for a transfer approximately once every 4 days.

To be fair, look at who I had to play on the way to the final. I think I was favourite to win every game apart from the Semi-Final & Final.

A decent start to the season saw us flirting with the top 3 for much of the season, however the great run in both the Europa League and the KNVB Cup saw our league form suffer as a rather season-derailing injury crisis saw us sink like a stone in the league from 3rd to 7th in the last 7 games. Onto the positives, and what a great & unexpected victory in the Europa League. We undoubtedly had the easiest route to the final, where we faced off against the eventual Ligue 1 winners Lyon. A nervy final ensued, with Lyon understandably controlling the game. Fortunately for us, we managed to limit their shooting well, and they only had 4 shots on-target all game. A great goal from want-away Jordy Clasie sealed a memorable win. The KNVB Cup was a little less memorable, with a poor performance against AZ seeing us fall to a late 2-0 loss in extra-time, as AZ's goals came in the 117th and 119th minutes.
All in all, we should have held onto 3rd at the very least, and the long campaigns in both cups ultimately took it's toll. Despite the poor league form, the performances in the Cup's were good, and the victory in the Europa League is probably the only reason I still have a job.

An extremely dissapointing season following on from the previous seasons success. A very poor start to the season, suffering 3 defeats in a row, was followed by a turn in fortunes as we put together a decent 12-game unbeaten run, and managed to lead the league by a point on Christmas Day. However, we must have had a bit too much to eat & drink over the festive period as we then suffered a 4-game losing streak. Hopes of retaining our title were low as we sat as low as 8th at one point in January. Eventually, with a bit of luck with other teams fading towards the end of the season, we just about took 3rd place, but had one or two results gone against us, we could have easily finished 5th or lower. Perhaps the only positive all season was making it to the Turkish Cup final, where we were very unlucky to lose after having dominated the game.
Antalyaspor take their first ever League Title. They set the pace early in the season, and hit the 40 point mark in just 16 games! They faded towards the end of the season, but did enough to take the title. Eskisehirspor take their 2nd Turkish Cup after
luckilybeating us in the Final.Süper Lig - 3rd (10pts)
Karsiyaka deducted 14 points, Gaziantepspor deducted 2 points
Ziraat Türkiye Kupası - Runner-up (20pts)
UEFA Champions League - Banned
UEFA Europa League - Banned

Galatasaray - League (Played 2, Won 2), Cup (Played 2, Won 1) = 15pts

Yeah both teams had poor finances, but the disparity in point deductions was surprising. I haven't really had time to sit down and bash through the last 2 seasons yet, although im around 8 or so games into the second season with a pretty poor start of a few losses and draws already.

I didn't sign anyone, as the transfer kitty was set at £900k and I couldn't find anyone suitable to improve the team for that low. I did let 2 players leave during the January window, one was a left-back who I sold for £4.2m, and another was a reserve player who I sold for about £1m. Also loaned out a few of the fringe players to get first-team football. I will probably revamp the squad with good Turkish talent before the 2nd season, now I have around £4m in the transfer pot, and also flog a few of the foreign lads because there are a few too many for my liking, as I can't include them all every game.
Thanks! I was down to bare-bones defensively, so I will also be shoring up the defense with a few young Turkish players to avoid bringing in yet more foreign players.

Cheers! I play FM at a pretty quick pace, just spending about 30 minutes at the start of each season setting up training/tactics and signing players, etc. I then pretty much fly through the games at max speed, only really slowing it down for important games such as the cup semi's and final, or if we hit a losing streak and I need to rethink my tactics. Maybe not the optimal way to play the game, but definitely the way I like to do it.
