Premium Membership Downloading Speed

I had a successful download but it took awhile and appeared to be from a different site although I hit the same link from this website.

i downloaded the mega facepack ok at about 300kb/s but had difficulty with the metallic logos (wouldn't go past 1gb) so gave up and used a torrent instead.

Getting a lot further now, but terminated after 5GB this time - this is getting a little frustrating but am now retrying for the 12th time! On the plus side, I managed to download the metallic logos which look pretty sweet!

It has all been working fine for the past 2 days but this morning we've had a ton of problems again. No idea why, nothing changed in that time, i'm working on it now and have put in a temporary fix which should mean that megapack downloads are working again.

Would just like to say that I had a successful download of the mega pack last night.
Took about 3 hours but so worth the wait and the money.
Practically squealed when I saw Luis Suarez looking back at me.

Nope, not for me. Died after 5.2GB!

Ok even after my kind donation and many days down the line i still have no facepack so have put aside a few hours this evening to try again .
Hope you all had a good new year and i hope mine goes well and i actually get what i pay for too.
Would be nice and then i could go and play my game in peace without feeling like im trolling.

Guess what got to 5.2g again right can somebody tell me what is going on and why it is still not working.
Just tell me i was conned out of £10 and that i need to download slower FREE torrent versions after all the messing around?????

I have tried over 20 times over 5 days and still nothing....this is very annoying!!!

Downloading from premium account and cant top 800kb- average 300kb, nothing d/l in background, is this normal?

Can you be more specific and also give details about your connection speed. You can do a test here: http://www.speedtest.net/

I don't know what browser you're using but in Chrome if it will look like this:



It says 900KB/s this is equivalent to a connection speed of 7 Mbps. So if your internet provider claims they give you a 10Mbps speed then this is about right albeit a little low (this could be for multiple reasons).

Sorry if this seems patrinonising it's just people don't always understand the difference and think "Hey i've got a 10mb connection and am only getting 800kb" which is not the case at all. You can do the calculation easily via Google

10 Megabits per second is written as Mbps and is equivalent to downloading 1.25MB/s (1.25 megabytes per second).

For a 6 gigabyte file this will take 4915.2 seconds or 1 hour and 22 minutes if you are using all of your 10mbps connection.

Please note these are all examples these will depend on your own specific connection speed, time of day and other factors.

I realise I'm posting in multiple threads now but this seems to be the best place to be and hopefully it'll save Rob and co. from jumping around from thread to thread saying the same thing!

Judging by the figures quoted by some others, it looks like I have a naff internet connection...

I've just changed the service we use for downloads. This is alot more expensive for us but it should give more reliable and faster speeds for you. I cannot guarentee that it will last as i'm not sure that we can afford it at the moment, but we will see. For now it should alleviate the temporary problems you guys are having.

Please not, this service is only available for files over 1GB, smaller files are still using the old method

just wondering if there is any known issues atm? Trying to dl the shiny logos pack and its estimating 19h. I'm on fibreoptic w/ nothing else downloading so should only take 10 mins.

Is there a problem again with the downloads or is it just me? spent the last 4 days with computer on and it keeps doing 1-2gb then cancelling itself??

I think i will have to try to download it at a different house.. maybe that will work?

Hey more information is needed for me to look into this.

1) What speed are you getting? (Your browser should tell you)
2) Is it stopping after an exact time or at an exact size?
3) What browser are you using?
4) What file are you trying to download?

Okay I realised that something was switched off late on Friday that should not have been so some downloads may have not downloaded properly.

cuout megapack is downloading soooooo slow right now.. Everything else is downloading fast enough...
Currently it says 3 hours untill done..
Can't be right with premium membership.. and if it is, i want it cancelled and the money back!!!

Like most of the posts I've been seeing around here, I wish I hadn't bothered with a Premium Membership and just kept on downloading each part individually. At least that way I knew the download would eventually finish.

As of right now, I've tried downloading the Metallic Logos Pack 7 times, the closest I got to finishing it without it stopping for no reason (also the site giving me errors 521 and 523) was around 40%, all on 150-190 kbps.

Can I get some help/support/explanation for this issue? It's been a while since I played FM and I was super eager to play FM14 for the first time, but playing without the graphics from this site just doesn't feel right...

We announced that we would have expected downtime tonight because our hosts needed to make some hardware changes.

Obviously if the hardware is unplugged downloads are going to stop. We can only apologise for the inconvenience this causes, unfortunately there isn't a great deal we can do about it.

Most modern browsers (Firefox and Chrome for sure) should let you restart downloads which have stopped so you shouldn't have to restart again from scratch, but i'm sure if you leave it running overnight now it should be done.

If there are other more specific problems you're having then I can try and help with that, but if it's specifically related to this evening then hopefully it should be resolved now (although it is the hosts that caused the downtime not me, so without being in the warehouse standing over them I don't really have any idea what is going on)

In fact, it hasn't stopped yet for the last 40-ish minutes, but it is still running at a much slower speed than it should. That is not that big a issue for me as it seems to be for others, my concern was the connection closing constantly. However, it is worth pointing out.

Once again, sorry if I sounded a bit grumpy, my impression was that this was a widespread and long-standing issue from all the posts and different dates they were made on.

I'll let you guys now if the issue persists, but I suspect it might work fine for now.

trying to re download the face pacts onto my computer after reinstalling windows and the downloads it taking ages to complete its only going at 400KB/s i normaly get downaloads speeds from 3-4MB/s via steam and my normal crome downloads please help it is taking ages and i want to play Football manger today but currently i wont be able to beause of this

You can still play whilst they are downloading surely? Try the Torrent link, should be a lot quicker.

yeah but not having the faces and logos really annoy me :L im doing that now thanks alot quickier via the torrect raching 4mb/s

No probs, always try the Torrent first with any of the big files.

I have the same problem to download the mega face package. Is it possible to download it with JDownloader for example? Firefox tells me that he will need 12 hours....
