Am I getting old or are 'kek' and 'rekt' the two most annoying internet sayings of all time?

Even 'owned' was better.

Just spent about half an hour chasing a frog around the kitchen. Little fucker kept hiding under/behind things and poking its head out looking at me like it was saying "Whatcha gonna do human?"

Just downloaded my first ever audiobooks from iTunes; Sir Alex Ferguson's and Sir Bobby Robson's, whose is actually narrated by the man himself. Settling down to listen to a bit before football kicks off.

My wife and I visited Birmingham for the first time in quite a while yesterday, Have to say I really impressed by the scale of all the redevelopments in the city, New Street station, whilst a work in progress on the inside is nearing completion on the outside which looks rather shiny and spectacular, we went up to the top of the new library which is also a beautiful building both inside and out (although the glass elevator up to the rooftop gardens made me incredibly uncomfortable ) The main streets are all in the process of being fully pedestrianised with the installation of trams which is also nice as the old pavements were far to small for the kind of footfall in the area.
We stopped to have lunch at a canalside restaurant in Brindley Place which had a live band as well as various other performers in the vicinity before doing a bit of shopping at the ever impressive looking bullring.

The city is defiantly still a work in progress but it annoys be when people bad mouth it when they probably haven't actually set foot in it, at least since the renovations began. I'm proud to be a Brummie even if I don't live there anymore and based on yesterdays experiences I will defiantly be returning more often.

I just googled New Street. It's fucking ugly.

I was bucket shaking around Kings Cross over the summer and that refurb is fantastic. The dome thing looks pretty sweet and the sripped back original architecture looks amazing.

I'm split on whether it is better to hear nothing or to get one of those half-condescending form emails.

Id always rather just have a bog standard reply back, its not even like its difficult to send out a generic email to unsuccessful applicants. If people take the time to apply for your job then you should at least have the courtesy to tell them one way or the other.

I got invited for an interview with Lidl the other day, decided against it as I'm currently being trained as a supervisior at WHSmith and I like my current job. didn't realise Lidl staff pull down almost £8ph though. Why are their stores so crap if they can afford that sort of wage?

Because they are a no-frills chain.

Anyone seen whats been happening at Ferguson in America. Shocking what the police have been doing to keep press from talking about it

Yeah i was watching a livestream some guy was doing last night and it was pretty scary, one minute a group are in the road protesting peacefully then the police move up and fire tear gas at them as well as shooting them with rubber bullets. Mental how little press coverage its getting as well, best place for updates on the situation has been vox.com

I have been following it on twitter. One of the only actual news stories I have seen is from the Washington Post reporter who said he was in the McDonalds using the wifi when the police came in and arrested him and another guy for nothing

Seen a lot of similar cases of things like that happening, they even arrested one of the local government officials.
