Workshop subscriptions causing crashes

Anyone know how to fix the problem where, if you try to download the Dark skin after having subscribed to it via Steam workshop, your game goes into "Not Responding" and ultimately crashes?

Temporary rename the 'graphics' folder in C:\Users\user\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2014, load workshop in game, download and install skin, rename folder back to 'graphics'
