Competitions
A good year for the club. We won the treble and had a fantastic run in Europe. We beat the likes of Tottenham, Swansea, Lyon, Juventus and AC Milan. This sets the bar for next season very high. I would like to expect at least a domestic double and a crack at the last 16 of the Champions League.
Key Players
Charlie Mulgrew was the stand out player, despite being massively underrated by our coaching staff, he was my rock at the back. If it wasn't for him there would have been a hell of a lot more conceded. He every pitched in with a few goals and assists from set pieces.
My most consistent performers has to be the wingers. Every one of them had a great season making team selection very tough. Especially when I had to drop the attacking midfielder to defensive midfield to try solve my defensive crisis.
Most Improved Player
The big mans stats have improved over the year, his shot stopping abilities are up there with the best in Europe and his ariel ability is slowly improving. It will be key for me to tie him down long term.
Tactics
I ended up settling with this towards the end of the season. One with more of an attacking threat and on that slows the game down and try to control it. Some matches I'd push up one of the centre midfielders and use them as a trequartista or use Sammy as a wide target man.
Transfers
I feel I done a lot of good business during the transfer windows. Firstly bringing in wonder kid Richario Zivkovic who score 10 goals and 5 assists in 22 games mostly from the bench. For a 17 year old that is excellent. The two free transfers turned out to be excellent signing with both regular faces in the starting line up.
Then we get to January and in comes Keith Watson for £300k to replace Mikael Lustig on the bench £3.6m profit and £13k saving in wages. Mo Bangura was back at the club for a week before he was shipped out. Already had to many strikers. Lucas Andersen came in on loan with very little wages and Tsepo Masilela for pennies after an injury to Emilio Izaguirre and gave him a run for his money.

A very good budget to improve the team. There isn't really a weak link in the squad, I'll still keep my eye out for target man and some Scottish talent.
Stevie May completed his transfer. I'm looking to loan him out for the season to get him some more first team experience then throw him in the deep end next year.

The league reputation has dropped again, hopefully next season we can get it back up into the teens. Despite the drop our coefficient has went up giving us an extra Europa League place next season.
The clubs on the up. Within 3 seasons I'd like to have us up in the 20's and rubbing shoulders with the big boys.

An easy enough draw against the Macedonian side, could be a real confidence booster before the season kicks off. Two clean sheets would be a nice start too.
More good news for the club. Up in the rich list and now worth an estimated £96m still a long way off the top 10. PSG are 10th with over half a billion pounds.
I felt it was time for a clear out and bring in my own players. Nir Biton and Beram Kayal didn't really feature much last season so I thought it would be best to cash in while I could. As for the strikers, they were all misfiring with less than 10 goals each. I didn't really want to sell Anthony Stokes but he wasn't happy at the club. Efe Ambrose was refused a work permit and only had a year left on his deal so I figured better sell him than lose him for nothing.
I now have over £26m for transfers and £150k to pay the wages.
Alexandros
Where did you get the logos for teams across Europe like Rubin, Juventus etc, cant find any?

Cheers man.

Cheers mate. Thats what I'm hoping for too, last years was impossible without cheating.

Agreed a few months ago on a bosman from Liverpool a homegrown keeper is always a good addition for Champions League squads. He'll go into the u19s for the season - until Lukasz Zaluska's contract expires.
I needed a target man after letting Amido Balde leave and spotted Gary Madine. I though cheap wages and only £400k, we're on to a winner. But no I forgot he's unavailable due to his assault trail. Back to the drawing board.
Two easy friendlies against the feeder clubs to get the fitness up. Routine big wins. Up next we host Macedonian side Rabotnicki.
Another Scotsman joins the ranks. The former Dundee Utd midfielder is an excellent addition and provides cover all in all areas. He cost £1m after some competition with English clubs started a bidding war.

Brought in for £1.9m to replace Efe Ambrose. Not as good as Ambrose but he as the potential to be better. I'd like to bring in another centre back before the end of the window as I feel we are a bit light.
Nathan Delfoneso was released by Aston Villa at the end of the season so I snapped him up to make up for my cock up with Gary Madine. He adds to an already quick front line.
This was my 'big money' signing for the season at £4m from Nottingham Forrest. He will be the future of my centre midfield with Franco Zuculini.

Another youngster joins on loan with the hope of luring him to stay at the club.
I thought we could do with another centre back. Signed from relegated West Ham for £4.3m, he cost a fair bit but has years ahead of him.
Sailed through another round of qualifiers and drew Kiryat-Shmona in the 3rd Qualifier Round.
SR67
I had to bring in a keeper that I could throw in if anything happens to Fraser Forster after Lukasz Zaluska asked to leave.
A great run of form to kick off the new season. Its great to finally keep some clean sheets and score a fair few goals at the same time. The new signings look to have settled quite quick and Richairo Zivkovic is really shining now that he is first choice.
A significantly easier draw than last season. I think a runners up spot is defiantly achievable. The home fixtures will be vital.
We sit top by a point with a game on hand over Hearts, I think we could extend the winning run at least a few more games and widen the gap.

Cheers mate. Unfoutunatley Ross County fell at the 2nd Qual. Round.
It has Dan, I wanted to make my own mark on the squad. The next few windows won't be half as hectic.

I brought in one more player just before the window slammed shut and in time to include him in the Champions League squad. Darren Fletcher, Scotland international and well known Celtic fan, was released by Manchester Utd and I was only happy to add some more experience the centre of the park.
This sums up a busy transfer window. 11 players joined, most of them for the first team. I think Henri Lansbury or James Tomkins will prove to be the key signing of the season. For the amount of players that joined we spent just under £12m which is not a lot compared to the sales
I'd already explained most of the transfers in a previous post. Lukasz Zaluska and Emilio Izaguirre were the only noticeable players to leave since. Zaluska wanted to leave in search of first team football and Izaguirre was in the last year of his contract and wanted over £35k per week to stay.
With a profit of £20m from transfers we are now very financially healthy and have over £40m in the bank.
The clubs player knowledge has got much better, I'm looking for an Eastern European scout to add to the set up and improve the knowledge of South America.

When I looked at it at the end of the transfer window I couldn't believe how much profit I made and still managed to improve the squad massively.
Shedender

It was a good window. Yeah he barely played for them, think it was because of his health problems.
SR67
We had a great run, with only a few draws/defeats. I've found that when we go a few goals up we always concede. Take the Hearts defeat and Dundee Utd draw for example. Both games we kept clean sheets in the first half, and to concede against Whitehall Welfare?
The Hibs match was my 100th in charge and marked by a 2-0 win.
We've still not managed to open the gap at the top, plainly because of Hearts good form and them beating us. Raith Rovers look doomed for the drop but the play off is wide open.
After a great start of 10 points from 4 games we slumped to two losses and only managed second place. Hopefully the draw is kind to us in the next round.
Dan
SR67
Yeah they are, I'll need to win the next one with them. The CL group was easier than I expected, I expected more of a fight from Benfica.
SR67
A very tough draw. The chances of progression are minimal, but I've already met my target for the season.
Can't help but think if I finished top and got Monaco.
Alexandros
SR67
That's true mate, hopefully they have a few injuries/suspensions.
Charlie M
Good dignings and a great showing in the CL so far. Shame about the draw you got though.
SR67
Cheers mate. The squad is completely different to last year, maybe too big. Real Madrid will be a tough game yeah.
SR67
A good run takes our run without conceding to four matches. The crash turned out for the better as Scott Brown is no longer out for 3-4 months but Franco Zuculini for 2 months, in the same match oddly enough.
The win over Hearts helped us go 13 clear at the top, finally the table is beginning to look respectable. Raith are still destined to go down and it doesn't look like changing. Also just noticed that Hibs have 2 points ore that their total last season.
The u19s looked a bit thin so I brought in three Irish youngsters all for £100k each.
The first from Shamrock Rovers, a young striker who can also play on either wing, already has two u21 caps.
I'm excited about this one, also from Shamrock Rovers. He is the youngest of the three but looks like he'll be the first to break into the first team.
Anthony Healy cam from Derry City to complete the trio signing on New Years Day. Ive got him working with Franco Zuculini as the are pretty similar players.
The training facilities is now at a superb level and youth at excellent.
