midfielders refuse passing a ball

Hey guys,
I have one BIG problem, my attacking midfielders just dont want to pass the ball to my strikers. I already choose the option "Shoot Less Often" in my team instructions and nothing, they get the ball (in the middle of the pitch) and run to the penalty area the moment they approach it they start to shoot like idiots instead of pass the ball to my alone-standing striker.
At the end of the game my attacking midfielders have +- 7 shoots at the target + at least 1 goal while my striker has only 2 shoots and rating 6.1.

What am I supposed to do to stop them from shooting? BTW even my coaches say that thy think they wont be able to learn "pass rather than shoot" "
when I try this kind of option from "Sugest Preffered Move" tab.

Sounds odd.

What Teamwork stats do they possess? What type of roles are they and your strikers playing in?
I find some players *cough*Don Cowie*cough* will shoot regardless of what instructions you provide or whats going on around them. This has been the same for the last few games. All I can suggest is possibly changing their roles to become less attacking or sell them on and get someone else in.
