Brechin City, but I prefer to start in the bottom tier of each country and work up..Brechin are Div 3
Athlone, a wages budget of about 50p and a murray mint put me off
which left me with Havant & Waterlooville (not an easy one to chant from the terraces) in the BS South. (I'd have preferred to start in N Ireland, but no jobs available)
One decent left sided midfielder who was Italian, so he had to go, and dived into the transfer market.
more to come...

Go ahead mate With the best of my intentions I usually lose interest in it after a month or two and updates to the leader board become few and far between.
Good luck with Havant by the way Maiden71.
Maiden71
Yeah that was a typo, and the reason I didnt want to start with them
Maiden71
Thanks I like this challenge.

Board expectations..safe mid-table position.
Had a bad start to the season, losing 2-4 to Chelmsford, then went on an 8 match unbeaten run in the league taking the September Manager of the Month award along the way.
Form went a bit patchy after the FA Cup exit
Currently sitting 5th in the table, so not too shabby.

Getting an unexpected replay against Forest Green in the FA Trophy had an unfortunate side-effect in that I had a glut of injuries around that time (4 in those 2 games alone); at one point I had 7 first team players out in January.
Annoyingly we seem to have picked up the habit of conceding early in almost every game, in fact we went 2-0 down in 4 of the last 5 matches, eventually losing 2 of them 3-2, getting a draw against Dorchester and somehow coming back to win against Boreham Wood. We have plenty of goals for us, but our defensive record is appaulling and is something I will be looking at closely over the coming weeks.
Sitting a couple of points outside of the playoffs, so exceeding expectations, but I will be disappointed with anything less than a playoff place.

So we finished 4th in the league and beat Billericay in the playoff semi

The ironic thing was that the goalscorer Cox only played in this game because my first and second choice players for his position were injured and suspended; normally he wouldnt have even been on the bench
So that 1 down, 35 to go.
The decision I have to make now is whether to stay at Havant or move elsewhere. I have serious doubts about whether they can compete in the BSP, and would probably be a wasted season. Besides which, I want to get into N Ireland as there's a boatload of trophies there. I'll keep one eye on the Job Centre.

We had a good run in Sept after I changed tacticss, but then got hammered for a few matches..as I said, patchy form, but exceeding expectations. We are making money hand over fist, but nothing to spend it on as quality players are not interested in signing. If this was a long term career, I would stick with Havant but as the point of this challenge is trophies, I'm looking to jump ship as soon as ssomething sensible comes up

I've been wanting to get into N Ireland for some time now, as there are a lot of trophies to be won there, and when two jobs came up there, I apllied for both. Thinking that they wont be able to afford the compensation, I waved bye bye to Havant, knowing that if I didnt get either of the NI jobs, I'd be queuing up at the dole office.
A couple of weeks went by, then I got the call I was hoping. Time to pack up and find a house in Ballymoney, County Antrim.

Haven't had the time to update yet, but I've moved on to N. Ireland too.

Lost our first game, but have not been defeated in the league since. A few too many draws, but a decent showing so far, and a cup final coming up.
We're up to 7th in the league. I think promotion will be a bridge too far this season, but am hopeful for next year.
