We Are The People.

A new start. A New quest. A New history. These are the sort's of things that must be pondering on the mind of Ally McCoist as he heard that his Glasgow Rangers side would be starting in the bottom tier of Scottish Football for the new season, a lifeline has been said as the club looked to go out business all together not as long as a couple of days ago. Not many would of seen or even dreamt for this to happen to a world know footballing club such as Rangers, but like many they are just a number (An increasing number) of sides that are struggling with the financial side of what is the beautiful game. A whole new reality has hit Ibrox as the days of travelling to Nou Camp to face Barcelona in the Champions League have gone and now replaced by minnow trips to Annan Athletic's Galabanks stadium for a Third Division game.

Pre season has started for McCoist and his men. Already many have jumped the Ibrox ship. A depressive 27 players had already left the club. Big names such as Steven Davis, Steven Naismith, Allan McGregor and Kyle Lafferty have already left the club for pastures new, whilst many encouraging youth prospects such as Rhys McCabe, John Fleck and Jamie Ness have all moved south with both Fleck and McCabe going to the Championship. Ness on the other hand has joined Stoke City in the Premiership. There are however new people added to the club in the form of new Chief Executive Charles Green joining the club and has much to say over the state of Rangers and their future:

"It's no secret the SPL have been working on a plan and I understand the Football League have got their vision for change in Scottish football. It has to change because it's in a mess. It's really difficult for me to take seriously the SPL re-structure. They threw us out of the league and are now pursuing title stripping, and for us to sit down and think that after all that has come to fruition I will say 'OK, everything's forgotten', you're in cloud cuckoo land. I don't forgive and forget. While I'm chief executive, Rangers will not play in the Scottish Premier League. If that situation arose, I would go out to the fans, as we did earlier in the year. But my position wouldn't have changed. If they wanted to go back into the SPL, then fine. But I won't be chief executive".

This season is a real test for Rangers and one that they cannot take there mind off as one slip could cause issues for them. A straight promotion into the Second Division is on the cards for the fans and this is something that is planned by McCoist. But with no real players at there disposal at the current moment and quiet activity in the transfer market this could rise to be a real concern for everyone involved in the club.
