Solid Defensively Tactic?

I personally like to play a solid defensive game of football, would prefer to keep clean sheets as my primary goal in a match then score should the opportunity present itself.

I've search online high and low for a good tactic like this but I cannot seem to find one anywhere that works with the 1.4.3 patch. does anybody know of any?

If not any pointers in creating one myself I've tried but should I play:

short passing/direct
defensive/standard/control
tight marking
tackle hard
stand off/hassle?
deep defensive line?

was thinking 3 cb 2wb 1dm 1cam 2wingers 1 striker?

I have many questions and would appreciate any help!

Direct passing, counter, tight marking, stand off, drop deeper, and tell your wingers to run wide with the ball. 4231 with two DMs works well. I'm a defensive manager!

Try this.

Made it when I got promoted with Leeds and been using it recently - let me know how it goes.

Fast wingers, look for dribbles ball down right/left, hugs touchline and knocks ball past opponent for ppm's, clever intelligent defensive midfielder in the HB role too. Traditional targetman upfront (I used Danny Graham, he scored 15 in 32)
