Ladies, Gentleman and the odd alien creature that is reading this site from Mars, I welcome all of you, well most of you, to my story. You may have already guessed by the header or title of the page exactly where this is going. Its a challenge I've tried many of times, but failed equally as many times. FC United of Manchester once again missed out on promotion this season and are still unplayable on the basic FM. So after downloading EEE' update I have ventured into management with them.
Game Database:
I've added a variety of European leagues as I usually do, mainly the top countries though, we will play with only England loaded to one tier lower than the English Skrill North/south. I have also loaded Argentina, Brazil, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Scotland down to the bottom on view only just to keep up to date with whats going on there and what we can change.
Manager Profile:
And so this is me, the usual manager and face to take on the challenge. Born in October 1988, in London, with my English nationality. I have little to no experience playing as just a Sunday league footballer with the Favorited attacking formation of 4-2-2-2 and known as Dan means I'm more than ready for the challenge.
Club Information:
Finally here is the clubs information screen. All things are looking good at this early stage for a lengthy journey. A semi professional club, at this moment in time with only local reputation which I will look to change over the years. We are nicknamed the Red Rebels. We play our trade at Gigg Lane, an 11313 all seater stadium but possess poor and basic training and youth facilities, Financially we are 'okay', worth around three hundred thousand pounds.
I will likely play on a monthly update basis but not write as much as previous careers, probably just a couple lines on each month.[/b]

Shedender
Good luck with this though, I've enjoyed your previous FCUM careers and I'm sure this will be enjoyable.
Dan
Thanks George! I do love managing this side!
Dan
This is the one Shedender! Thanks pal, I always enjoy doing them, maybe how close I got a few seasons ago (championship) will spur me on to succeed this time!
Dan
I've already played a fair bit of the game so I have a few quick updates to fire out, firstly a quick look back on pre season and the highs of it, mainly highs anyway! Its been positive mainly. With transfers, finances and on the pitch friendlies.
Transfers Out:
Quite a few departures this summer, we ended up letting seven players go this summer, six willingly a one was stolen from us. I haven't let any 'big' players to go to speak of, most were fringe players at the club and I needed to cut the budget a little. I'm not usually one to just dispatch players but we couldn't sell them. We lost Rhdori Giggs to the worlds oldest football club Sheffield. No money was made though.
Transfers In:
Only three new faces but thats all I felt we needed, all are under twenty three years old and have bright futures and definitely can improve from where they are now. First in was Sam Hibbert to strengthen the back line, he is also being trained at left back to be even more universal. We also have Damilola Ajagbe who is also strengthening the back line. Finally James Lawrie was our second signing, another very versatile player and plenty of ability.
Finances:
Finances are very good for a club of our size. As it stands we have over a quarter of a million pounds in the balance. We have the youth facilities and the training facilities being improved as well, that was one of my first request. Unfortunately we failed in getting a parent and feeder club which would of helped a little more. We are under the wage budget by just ten pounds which is fine at this stage as we continue to under spend here it will help in the long run. I do have seven thousand pounds to spend or convert though if needed.
Friendlies:
We performed well in our friendlies, taking home more wins than anything else which is superb for morale and the team tactics. We beat our reserves at the start of the month before beating Prescot and then AFC Liverpool. Southampton under eighteens held us to a two all draw which pleased me. We then beat Armthopre before slipping to a surprise two nil defeat against Burscough. We beat AFC Telford before narrowly losing out to Hyde and then heavily against Airbus UK. We ended pre season with wins over Castell Alun, Llangollen and a draw against Overton Rec.
Dan
We have been brilliant so far this season, picking up four wins from four games and scoring goals for fun. We opened the season with a two one win over Marine away from home, Daniels and Lawrie netting in our opening game. We then picked up our first clean sheet in our first home game this season. Beating Trafford three nil, Matty Wolfenden netting twice with Iqbal netting between this strikes. We smashed Worksop six one away from home with a brilliant performance. Wolfenden with another two, Daniels with one, Wright with one and then two own goals, all seven goals came before the break. We end August with a good two nil win over Droylsden, Wolfenden and Walwyn netting our goals.
We have made the best start to the season so far yet sit second in the table as we've played one less than most teams so far. Matlock lead the way, one point ahead of us so we need at least a draw in our next game against eleventh place Witton. We've already scored the joint most and conceded the joint least this season.

Its all systems go for us right now Shedender, the perfect start!

Another fantastic month for us September was, I'm not going to go into the detail as I did August, I said at the start the updates would be quicker and less detail. We played four more league games this month, winning three and losing one, our first defeat all season. Delighted that we won all three of our cup games to date too A good FA Cup run will do the club wonders. The Manchester Premier Cup would be an added bonus this season.
We've played the least amount of games in the league this season yet lead the way at the top of the table. We've been the best side so far this season and hopefully it can continue and we can rise up with the league title come the end of the year, thats the plan! We will keep going!
Finally a quick mention on this lad. His stats may look woeful but he is certainly doing it for us u top this season. Currently has thirteen goals in eleven games this season which include nine in eight league games and four in three cup games. If he can continue to score like this there is no reason why we can't go up!

Thanks mate, sure has been a decent start in all competitions!
Dan
A brilliantly busy month where we were superb! We faced eight games in total and managed to come away with six wins and two draws which pleased me, remaining unbeaten in the busy months is going to be key for us. We are into the FFA Cup First Round where we will face Luton, currently second in the Conference Premier. We are also still trundling along in the FA Trophy. Also we picked up four wins from four in the league this month.
The league is looking easy for us and at the moment it is. We are six points clear after just twelve league games and have two in hand on the top six so can really start breaking away. Our goal difference is superb due to the fact we are so good going forward and have one of the tightest back lines so far this season!
Last month Wolfenden deserved credit, this time I am giving it to twenty year old 'Daniels' he has been a superb strike partner alongside Wolfender already this season, growing stronger game by game and has found the net fifteen times in eighteen games so far! We are forming a superb striking partnership.

They are a good side admittdly Shedender, we just need to keep going and get the first step down!

Thanks mate, they are always fun to play!
Dan
Our form is starting to topple a little but I'm not surprised as we played another nine games throughout November and surprisingly, only played two league games whilst the other seven were in the cup! We managed to advance to the FA Cup first round where Luton stuffed as five one, not surprisingly they are two leagues above us and fighting for the title there. We are also in the FA Trophy First Round where we face a replay with AFC Telford. Knocked out the Doodson Sport Challenge Cup First Round after a poor showing against Ashton United whilst we have made it to the Semi Final of the Manchester Premier Cup after beating Trafford.
We've played less games than other teams in our league yet are still battling away at the top. We've played three less than King's Lyn yet sit ahead of them on goal difference, this could see us move nine points clear should we win all our games in hand but following our poor showing against Rushall I'm not so confident about it now.
I released one keeper and brought in a new one, Matty Edwards is already fighting for first team football and at twenty three years old it is great for us to have too very good goalkeepers in the squad!
Dan
Finally a month where we played more league games than cup games! Again towards the end of the month a few careless performances stepped in especially back to back draws against two teams outside the top ten at the time. We are continuing a strong run through the FA Trophy though after beating AFC Telford in the first round and then Chester in the Second ROund.
We've slipped to fourth and beginning to throw away chances. We are now six points away from league leaders King's Lyn but have five games in hand on them and six in hand on another team above us! Our games in hand are going to soon be coming thick and fast but we need to make sure we are picking up points!
Shedender
It's a shame you have slipped down to fourth but sure, you have quite a few games in hand I see. Still in the title picture.
Dan
Haha pipe down sir! Its tough playing as many games as the side are! But I'd much rather have the points on the table rather than games in hand thats for sure!
Dan
Finally a quieter month, the new year is here and we faced just five games throughout January, no transfers were made and no real shining performances were made on the pitch either. We are now out of the FA Trophy, a valient effort getting to the third round, forced a replay against Skrill Premier league leaders Grimsby too after a nil nil draw at home, we lost three two away and had two goals ruled out offside. The league saw us pick up seven points from a possible nine.
Our FA Cup and FA Trophy runs could cost us! Whilst they've been fantastic financially fixture wise they could cause a backlash! We are currently sitting fourth in the table, sitting six points behind league leaders Buxton but they have played eight more games than us this season! Every single team has played six to eight more league games than us and it could become an issue later in the season!
Due to our decent cup runs we have now played forty games this season and its only the end of January! I don't like playing catch up in the league! Games in hand mean nothing compared to points on the table...
Shedender
Dan
We gave it a good go, board only wanted us to reach the 1st round so to get to the 3rd we can't complain, knocking two teams a league higher than us out along the way! And we could of beat Grimsby if our two goals weren't offside!
As for the league games they are building up and it could cost us dearly! We haven't got the squad to be playing every two or three days thats for sure!

Dan
Thanks Sam! Hopefully we can do it!

Finally another decent month. February was brilliant for us, we faced another six games through the month and managed to remain unbeaten as we picked up four wins and two draws along the way. We have made it to the Manchester Premier Cup Final which we will play next month, I fully expect us to win it too! First piece of silverware would be nice.
Well we are picking up the points with our games in hand and the title race is fully in our hands, its ours to lose thats for sure. We trail Buxton by a single point at the top of the table now and still have eight games in hand over them! If we don't win this league I will be shocked!
