He did it again! Jack Payne struck his second last ditch goal in this tie and oh how much it means to this club. His 86th minute strike meant we the tie finished 2-2 and was off to extra time. An unfortunate error from Birmingham's Garner looks as if it would put us through until the 116th minute when Nouble leveled the game once more! Extra time couldn't separate the teams and so it was to be decided on penalties. It was Posh who ended up victorious with a 7-6 win in the shootout.
PLAY-OFF FINAL:
Step aside Millwall. We've a score to settle with the Premier League. What an absolutely ridiculous season. The play-off final was to cause no trouble in the end as we comfortably beat Millwall, the fact they managed 2 goals flatters them incredibly, nevertheless, Peterborough United FC will be playing in the Barclays Premier League next season! Cannot wait. I'll get one heck of a transfer kitty which I am looking forward to spending on some much needed talent to do well in the Prem. As always, Viva la Posh!

Our first pre-season of the our Premier League era and it was decent. My first undefeated pre-season at Posh but we didn't really play anyone too challenging. Disappointed to draw with Brentford although a 3-1 victory over Serie A Sassuolo was pleasing enough. You may notice some new names among the goalscorers in these games. Of course I had a flutter in the transfer window.
As you can see I was given a huge transfer budget to play with as the club finances were impeccable following our play-off success, and.... I spent it all. I bolstered the squad in vital areas and brought in players which are good enough already but still have plenty of growth to come their way. Particularly happy with the signing of George Thorne for such a low fee, especially given his performances in pre-season. Elsewhere we brought in wonderkid Zakaria Bakkali for £12.5m which is quite a hefty fee but for a player is a position we desperately needed and such a huge talent, too. We managed to steal Mohamed Salah from Chelsea for far less than what they paid for him, he gives us something very different on the right flank. Our final deal saw German stopper Loris Karius join from Mainz for a cool £3.8m.

We kicked off our Premier League era in style thumping Reading 4-1 with debutants Mohammed Salah and George Thorne both getting themselves on the scoresheet. A very good first game was marred by a horrible 3-0 defeat to a pretty mediocre Blackburn side in truth. The highlights of this period definitely being the 1-0 over Man City thanks to Harry Maguire late on and a very successful Capital One Cup campaign.
We're 7th! I have no idea how as we have certainly not shown form worthy of a place that high in the league. Oh well, I am not complaining one bit. Man United lead the way thus far but in truth the league is tight from top to bottom. Thrilled with our position at this point. I hate to be pessimistic but the form we have shown in the games I can very much see us sliding down the table fairly promptly.
Viva la Posh!

Very few positives in this set of results. Apart from the 3-1 win over City in which our talisman George Thorne bossed the game, everything else was a bit of a disaster really. You'll see that in the final games of the season (which we were pasted in) there's a new scorer - Giovanni Simeone, son of Diego Simeone, for whom we paid £5m to River Plate in order to secure his services. Oh well, the first season in the Premier League was never going to be easy, the main thing was to survive.. so did we?
Of course we survived. We are Peterborough United. We finished down in 13th place which is a very respectable finish for our debut season, if you ask me. Chelsea won the league with Spurs not far behind. Spurs could've secure a memorable double as they managed to win the Champions League this season too, madness.
Some good news. Bit disappointed at how plain the name of the stadium is but I will get over it! Shows the board have faith in me and are as keen as I am to move this club onto the next level! As always, Viva la Posh!
