A horrible run in our penultimate month and the month before as well. We haven't seen any consistancy for a while now and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. We faced another seven games this month won two, the opening and closing games of this month, drew nil nil twice and lost the other three games! Oh boy dreadful!
Down to seventh but a playoff spot still isn't out of reach. We have a game in hand, which is our next game, against twentieth place Fleetwood! This will also be my three hundredth in charge so we better win! A win will take us up to sixth and inside the playoffs with just a single game to go! Could we mount the late playoff charge and find two wins!
Shedender
KIU pal, you're almost tempting me to start a new career, almost.
Dan
Yeah I think its the longest since I took over that we've failed to score Shedender and this is why I said we'd be lucky to get the playoffs in reply to your comment a couple post ago. I think fatigue is kicking in and when we've played so many games this season It's not surprising! However its not quite over yet! two games to go!
Be good to see you whip out something new!
Dan
We expectedly won our last two games, both by the same scoreline. We beat Fleetwood two nil with goals from Fitzgerald and Parton whilst Folan and Preston netted our two against Stockport. Both were at home and against teams in the bottom four or five. And that meant it ended like this...
Yeah, thats right! Our first ever season in the Footballing League has come out trumps up as we've finished all the way up in fifth and taking a playoff spot at the end of the season! We will go on to face Bury in a two legged affair in the Playoff Semi Finals! Unlikely, but if we win that, we face the winner from Exeter and Leyton Orient.

Dan
Thanks mate, we were always expected to beet Fleetwood and Stokport, both sporting poor league positions so glad we done it! Promotion is still along way away though! We do face Bury over two legs in the Semi Final!

Dan
We were predicted to finish rock bottom Kieran so missing out on automatic promotion and ending in the playoffs is still fantastic for our little club! The playoffs won't be easy but we will do our best, in all honesty I don't think we are ready to go up this season!

Dan
It won't be easy! But hopefully we can cause a bit of a stir that would be ncie!

Dan
It sure would but a huge challenge for next season too!
Dan
Thanks man! Yeah both us and Bury are still playing at Gigg Lane so as you said, its a good tie for us both!
Dan
We were brilliant in the First Leg of the playoff semi Finals. We didn't really travel anywhere, our groundshare with Bury saw us both home for both legs. We trailed after eleven minutes when Alabi netted but within a minute we were back level. Young Emmet Folan netted and twelve minutes later netted again to put us two one ahead. Taylor brought Bury back level before the break before John-Joe O'Toole netted in the sixtieth minute, guiding us to a First leg 3-2 win.
The second leg! Another close tie with both sides looking to win, Bury dominating but we stood strong! We fell behind after seven minutes, Taylor netting for Bury before Harding made it two nil within half an hour. Shaun Wright-Phillips scored his first ever FC United of Manchester goal five minutes before the break to see us at two one at the break, four four on aggregate. Second half we came out and leveled on the night, Raglan netting a superb free kick however a ninety second minute goal from Devine saw Bury force extra time. In Extra Time there was just one goal, Greg Daniels in the one hundredth and tenth minute to see us win six five on aggregate and head to the final!
Opponents for the Final, Exeter! And I am happy with that draw. As you can see, in my time here we've played them twice and both were this season in League Two. We won the first meeting three two before drawing the second meeting back in April when our form was turning sour. Lets hope we can do them in the Final!

Dan
Thanks Xeraphine, it was an amazing set of Semi Final games and looking at past results its in our favor, but in the Final, previous results count for nothing!

Dan
Pipe down, its going to be a close Final thats for sure!
Dan
Well we have but as I said, the Final counts for nothing!
Dan
Dammit! God damimt! How did we end up blowing it! The Final certainly wasn't a memorable one, disgusted by the lack of discipline by both teams but especially us! We picked up seven yellow cards (eight with Marc Adams second one) and a sending off! Exeter led after thirty four minutes through Ameobi before Wes York levelled before the break! Second half we held tight especially when we went down to ten men. Extra Time and Exeter went on to join us down to ten men with Rowe out injured and no substitutes remaining. Then John-Joe O'Toole gave away a free kick in the final minute of play and, yerp you guessed it, Exeter went on and scored from it, Clarke netting a one hundredth and twenty first minute winner to send Exeter to League One!

I was prepared for penalties then when we gave away that free kick, livid! We played well!
Shedender
Haha in all seriousness though, that's absolutely heart wrenching mate but it's still been an absolutely fantastic first season in the Football League with FCUM and who knows but maybe next season you can get over the finishing line. KIU, this is fantastic stuff.

Haha you crack me up with all your power and authority! It has been a fantastic season, just a little frustrating we couldn't get over the finishing line this year especially as we hadn't lost to Exeter in our previous two meetings! Oh well, on to the next season!
