Most definitely, I never thought we'd be in the playoffs this season and never would of wanted to go up if you asked me at the start of last season! But we will build again for next year!

Obviously our first season in the footballing league and our fifth place finish in League Two saw us secure another record high finish. Very pleased with our first season performance here thats for sure!
This is fantastic news for our club! Our Youth Category has been upgraded taking us from a four to a three! Hopefully we can keep these facilities as we keep going through the years as our youth are a vital part of the future plan here!
A day short of one thousand eight hundred in charge as I finish my fifth season in charge and its been another relatively successful one! This season we played seventy one games across all competitions and thats a lot and probably shows why our form dipped towards the end of the year! We've now won one hundred and seventy of our three hundred and four games (fifty five percent) whilst drawing fifty nine and losing seventy five. Along the way we've netted five hundred and forty eight, conceded three hundred and seventy one (goal difference of one hundred and seventy seven). We've got five cups, three league wins and three promotions to our name.

Another one of our 'future stars' has left the club. Andy Parton has been a brilliant servant of the club since joining for free in the 2013/2014 season but he made it very clear last season he wanted to leave and I couldn't change his mind. West Ham came sniffing with a £1 million offer and that was that. There are a couple of incentives though, when they win promotion to the Premier League we get a small fee and we get 25% of next transfer!
And that money...
Reinvested into the club as always! Making more changes to our training and youth setup is going to be massive for the club and massive for us in the future!

Well, the board are being just as unambitious as they were last season. This season all they want us to do is avoid relegation and I'm more than confident that we will do that again. In our team meeting I told the players I want us to reach the playoffs again this year and they were more than ambitious to match this! Hopefully we can reach it and maybe finish higher than last year. I told the board we'd avoid relegation though.
DAMMIT! The finances have taken a massive hit now I decided to upgrade the facilities, this means I probably won't spend a penny in the transfer window bar on free transfers for wages! We have a massive gap in the balance to allow a few new faces to come in. I do have a couple of deals set to take place too but doubt they'll reach the heights to get us into the black just yet!

Transfers Out:
It was a massive summer for transfers leaving the club this summer, with us down on the old finances and the bank balance we had to make money on it. Eleven players ended up leaving the club this summer and it saw us bring in a fantastic one and a half millions pounds! The big deal was obviously Parton to West Ham for a million pounds. Matty Wolfenden, who's been with me since the start of the career joins Skirll Premier side Bristol Rovers for thirty three and a half thousand pounds. Couple more notable ones: A couple of our youth intake players left to go Scotland. Jason White joins Dundee United for one hundred and thirty five thousand pounds. Hibernian took both Stevie Robertson and Gerry Duff for a combined fee of a hundred and seventy five thousand pounds. Whilst Tommy Fraser and Matthew Flynn both leave the club for small fees.
Transfers In:
So transfers in, as expected, not a penny spent! We made good use of our affiliation with Arsenal too. First in this summer was former Liverpool player Stephen Darby, the twenty nine year old defender will be fantastic along the back line for us, the experience we needed especially with leading defender Parton now at the picture. Then came two loan deals from Arsenal, first in was Stuart Sharpling a central midfielder along with striker Dan Campbell both players and young with fantastic potential and I'm hoping they can cut it down in League Two. We then went on to bring in twenty year old central midfielder Chris Elliott who has a bright future as well as experienced David Bentley!
Finances:
Our finances are getting back on track slowly, however with the league about to kick off I'm sure we are about to lose the money again! Least we are almost back on track. We still have six hundred and sixty one thousand pounds in the transfer kitty. The wages are in control to as we are under spending by almost two and a half thousand pounds too!
Friendlies:
Well this has been one of our better pre seasons on the pitch, despite the massive defeat against Manchester United which we expected but the financial gains were good for the club. We ended up playing ten games this summer, winning four, drawing two and losing three. Our two draws kicked off the summer, maybe some unsure legs at the start. We shouldn't of lost to Hayes and Yeading but expected defeats against Charlton and United but it was for the money. We ended pre season in good form with three wins and a draw from four games, the draw against Bristol City!

Another player has left the club on a full time deal to play his trade in Scotland. Andy Jordan, another one of our youth intakes from earlier this year has agreed personal terms with St. Johnstone just before the window shut which saw us bag another one hundred and sixty five thousand pounds this summer.
New signing:
I decided to spend one hundred thousand pounds this summer to bring in this young star. Twenty year old Mark Joyce was playing his trade at Barnsley but I had a bid accepted and convinced him to come play with us! He should be a massive player for us this season and for many years to come!
Onto the football and its been a fairly decent start. We faced four league games, winning three and losing just the one which has seen us get off to a strong start. In the Capital One Cup we managed to knock our League One side Middlesbrough on penalties. But the Second Round proved a step to far again as Premier League side West Brom dispatched us at ease winning four nil.
Well our decent league start has seen us fly straight up the table to fourth place and just a point off the top two teams so hopefully we can carry on the way we have started off this season!

The facilities are going great, we've upgraded them a number of times and made so much money for a club of our size on selling sixteen year olds that they are definitely paying off!

For me, another playoff spot would be wonderful, we are still tipped HUGE underdogs in this league and the board have tipped us to avoid relegation again, so we shall see how itpans out!

All two hundred centre meters! Peter Crouch was available on a free transfer, he possesses plenty of brilliant mental stats, whilst his physical and technical are obviously dropping. I'm still confident the thirty seven year old can pull the strings up top for us.

September was a pretty good month for us as a club, we faced eight games in total, spread across twenty eight days and ended up winning six off them superbly whilst drawing one and losing one. Unfortunately the defeat we picked up ended being in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy which has seen us crash out the First Round disappointingly! We picked up thirteen points from a possible fifteen in the league whilst advancing in both the Manchester Premier Cup and FA Trophy. We are currently on a five game winning streak and six without defeat!
Top of the league after nine games, its going to be extremely tough for us to be able to stay there or anywhere near to this area. If we can hold onto an automatic promotion spot I'd be overly pleased, I'd love to win the league more than anything but if we can only go up via promotion or the playoff I'd be more than happy! Either way, I'm happy to date!
Have to mention this lad, he only joined us two or three weeks ago but has already had a massive affect on our promotion push and our attacking force. Admittedly when I signed him I feared whether he'd fit the bill due to his age and some of his stats, but he is doing the business for us up top having made five appearances, scoring five goals and assisting another three, already claiming two player of the matches!

A nice quiet month for us which makes a change, we ended up facing five games, winning three, drawing one and losing one. We took seven points from a possible twelve in the league whilst also easily dispatching Marine in the FA Trophy Second Qualifying Round. Shaun Wright-Phillips managed to grab another goal this month whilst Peter Crouch netted another two for the club!
We are down to third place but have a game in hand against Bolton which could see us go back to the top of the tree if we win it. If we can pick up at least a draw we may not go top but will still be level on points with the top two! The season definitely seems to be in our favor this year to date!
