Also make sure you scout nations like Costa Rica, Honduras, etc as some great regens can come from those nations. Keep a constant check on which free agent American players are available too, you can pick up some great squad fillers and every now and then a great MLS quality player.

Avery John - Free, terrible quality got him as cover at left back
Chris Wingert - swapped him with real salt lake for my 2nd draft pick (still not sure what that means) decent full back can play both sides
Hameur Bouazza - Free, no left wingers so got this watford legend, wand of a left foot.
Nuno Gomes - Free, wanted a decent finisher this guy seemed to fit.
Josh Saunders - Free, better than my other two keepers, enough said.
Steve Zakuani - Got him in the march waiver draft which seems like the MLS equivalent of the everything must go sale, will be backup for the hammer.
Tactics wise I'm using a counter attacking 4-5-1/4-3-3. Our work rate is abysmal so a pressing game is out of the question, so sitting deep and standing off. If friendlies are anything to go by we are going to be annihilated from the first league game...

2nd season done, provided transfers (of which there were many) and final standings. Massive turnaround considering we finished with 28 points in the first season. Mainly have Sebastien Fernandez to thank for that who I picked up in the waivers and he managed 14 goals in 30 games. Lozano, the 5 star honduran I picked up for free only managed 5 in 19 but I'll stick with him. Had about 5 interview offers over the course of the season but I turned them all down as I won't rest until I have won the MLS with the revs. We played Toronto in the semi's of the eastern conference, who hadn't beaten us in 6 games, so naturally they beat us 3-2 on aggregate, shoutouts to Bradley and Defoe for being far too good for this league. Gonna make changes next season as I want my own world beater designated player to take us forward, I also want to shift Reis as he's been nothing but shit since he arrived and his place on the bench would be better filled. Lastly managed to raise 3m by selling Goncalves and Fagundez who weren't getting much game time so I was happy with that return. COYR

Made a few transfers, got rid of both of my left backs which in hind sight probably wasn't the best idea and also bought Henry which again, probably wasn't the best idea as he needs a mobility scooter to get around these days and has huge wages. Picked up nothing in the super draft but picked up a decent amc in the waivers on the plus side.
Only five games in, pretty average start. First two games were a bit of a write off as I had to re-arrange my tactics and wasn't really prepared from the start. Was staring at the sack when we got bought by a new owner and was actually sort of hoping I'd get sacked but sadly they are idiots and kept me on to drag the club down. Oh yeah they also paid for the training facilities to be improved. Should be able to make the play offs this year I feel as the team is at least as strong as last year's team.

depending on the age and if they have not found a club after the draft you, the club, are responsible for his wage, i think a % or the full amount.
I have done mls on fm12 with la galaxy. it is a very competitive league and very complex. it is best to have a young squad.

This is getting ridiculous, got a fuck load of injuries including both of my keepers and now my left back has taken a leave of absence because he's homesick and missing his family of 20 back in mexico. Also sold my first choice right back for 2 million which ain't bad when we got him on a free. PThe next few weeks will be a real struggle now...

Won the eastern conference and made it into the playoffs, you'll notice I also picked up marvell wynne to replace Pablo Barros. Finishing top this time round is significant because we get a slightly easier semi against colombus crew who qualified as the wild card and finished 10th overall in the league as a whole. Squad is fully fit which means we have a fighting chance for the MLS cup which I crave so much! COYR

Quite a big jump that. In even bigger news we are into the MLS cup final, the bad news you ask? its against seattle who we haven't beaten in 3 games. Praying for a miracle right now.

Hate Seattle, absolute cunts, thought we would go on to win it when myers equalised with virtually the last kick/ head of the game but it wasn't to be. Plenty to be proud of, of course but to come so close is a real kick in the balls. Gonna re jig the squad, get rid of henry, get a 5 star keeper and generally improve the squad elsewhere, we are not far off winning this thing so I have hope for next season. COYR

About to start season 4 made some cracking signings over the close season including two left wingers with 5 star potential, also really happy with my two new left backs. We are a little light up front as we only have Lozano and Nagbe but I'm hoping the midfield will chip in with plenty of goals to alleviate this. This is probably the longest save I've had on FM14 so I intend to see it out, really think this could be our year barring any injury crisis. COYR
