I ve never played FM. After installing those packs, I was amazed by the huge data in the game.
I just read Team & Player Instruction of FM14 in the Guide of this forum. But I just don`t know what should I start manage & build my team? Any recommendation, like articles or guideline for fresh beginner?

I got a few questions after starting the game for a fews hours:
1.Is it not possible to choose Difficulty Level?
2.Is it better NOT to choose those teams with reputation of international level as the requirement from the top is very demanding?
3. Before the game start, I was asked to tick the boxes among many countries. If I tick 3 boxes, that mean I must choose 3 clubs to manage?
4. It seems that national team can not be managed in this game, what is the role of national team in FM14? The players are being called up & absence for their club match & that s all??

Firstly welcome to the site, we have a great community here and members as well as staff are alway here to help.

Beginners playing the game may wish to take an easy route into the game, find a team you support or a top club (barcelona/real madrid expecially) and play a season or two with them and find out whats what in the game

There is no difficulty level which is much better, it really test yourself on tactics and the team you are.

Managing at the top can be hugely beneficial, you won't find much changes from managing a top team to a lower division side other than you can obviously find and buy much better quality players!

The boxes are the countries you load up, many people have a few loaded to see around different areas, I myself have England loaded in my current save but a host of other nations on view only so I can keep a watch over it.

You can manage a national team, once you select the database and load it click add manager and up the top you should be able to switch from club management to national!

Feel free to ask anymore questions, hope this has kind of helped at least!

[b]Thank you for the warm welcome & nice guideline for me! My version was upgraded to 14.3 automatically, I d like Mata to play for Chelsea instead of MU by default, is there a way to `downgrade` the version, & back to 14.0??

You can make adjustments like that in the database yourself via the FM editor feature.

Open Steam --> Go to 'Library' until the drop-down menu appears --> Tools --> Install Football Manager 2014 Editor.

Under people, search for Juan Mata. Contract --> Club Contract. select the top right icon at the end of the line where it says Manchester United. From here, select Chelsea.

After that, go to the top left corner of the editor. File --> Save Editor Data As. Save it as whatever you like / whatever you will later recognise as being your saved changes to the database.

Now, the next time you create am FM save, note the Editor Data Files option when you are confirming which database you wish to use. Select the name of the file you created and saved from from when you were using the editor. Juan Mata will now be at Chelsea, alongside any other changes you want to make in your editor file.

Or he could just use the 14.0 database (but you'll still be using the 14.3 game version, with all the bug fixes etc).

Aye, there is that option. Depends on whether he wants all other 14.3. transfers to remain in place or not, I suppose.

Up to you, batiron!

You can still play with the 14.0 database IIRC, when loading up a save, you should have two options - 14.3 or default, just click the default and thus the likes of Juan Mata should still be at Chelsea amongst other players who had moved clubs in the January transfer window.
