Guadalajara plays in the Liga MX with 11 First Division titles, 7 Campeon de Campeones, 1 Interliga,1 Copa Challenger, 4 Copa Oros de Occidente, and 2 Copa Mexico. Guadalajara is the only football club in Mexico to exclusively field Mexican players.
Carlos Bustos contract offer retracted
Following allegations of match fixing, Argentinian Carlos Bustos has had the recent contract with Chivas terminated with immediate effect.
"We wish to inform the general public that, though not yet contacted by Fifa in regards to this affair, our administration has already instructed its Ethics Committee to further investigate these accusations, and take action against the person in question immediately."
The NCA said the four other people arrested earlier this week were bailed on Thursday pending further inquiries.
At least three footballers are reported to be among those held across the country.
Mexican Legend Claudio Suárez appointed manager of Chivas de Guadalajara
In a bid to rescue the managerial situation at Chivas, the biggest player in Mexican football, has made a startling return to his former club. Announced at around 12:00am, the club released this statement.
"Following the recent behaviour surrounding the club and it's last manager, we felt it necessary to go back to the clubs roots in order to bring back the former success and stability this great team once had."
A later press conference is set to follow to introduce and establish the manager and clubs intentions for the seasons to come.
Big Sam is god
Suaréz made his intentions perfectly clear within the 20 minute long press conference, stating he would do everything within his power to bring trophies to the fans.
When asked what he aimed to achieve, his response was "Well, long term, to continue to build on the 11 Liga MX titles already won, and prove myself within the managing side of the game to the fans."
Another interesting response came when asked "Do you intend to continue with the club's vision of all Home-grown Mexican players?"
"Well, ultimately, the aim is to win, no matter how it's done, whether its with or without a full team of Mexican players, but preferably, the aim is to adhere to the clubs long term plan of developing players, as we may not have the financial resources that some of the other big clubs do."
That statement could be a taste of whats to come and changes under new management, will Chivas break the duct and venture into foreign markets?
Big Sam is god
As you can see, a squad packed full of talent, and plenty of young players still developing.

Not too much activity, as you can see, however a great capture in Jonathan Dos Santos, who brings a lot to the table, going to be a key player this season.
Unfortunately, the financial situation is getting worse, and a cash injection was needed to help with costs, so youth is key.
