Seen a couple threads like this getting loads of replies around the FM scene recently so lets do one here with the intention of garnering a similar reaction!

Do you like to play as your local club, if so who are they?

Mine;

Living now: With a non-league expansion it would be Gresley FC, but they are in ND1S, so Burton Albion in the non-edited game.
Born: edited it would be Sutton Coldfield Town or Romulus as they share a ground. non-changed database it would be Aston Villa.

Tried it, deleted it haha. Accrington Stanley in league 2, halfway through season couldn't get into it, was just too difficult. Blackburn rovers I haven't started one with, probably will do in the future at some point!

Local club is Chard Town, but being way down the lader, level 11 or 12 if I remember rightly its always one hell of a journey to get them anywhere. However Yeovil Town is just fifteen minutes up the road form me so it would be them! May go with them this year at some point!

Local team is Perth Glory. A-League. I've done one season with them back in FM2007 and they weren't even my local team then!

Considering playing as them this time around though. There's no other viable options (for me) in an A-League save.

My local pro team Southend is just two miles away and that's who i'm playing as atm. Below that its probably Concord Rangers in the Conference South though they're about half hour away.

In an updated database it would be Southend Manor (who i turned down playing for myself some years back), they play in the Essex Senior league which is around level 9 i think.

South Shields or Jarrow Roofing are my two most like and likely playable with an expansion. Newcastle/Sunderland/Gateshead are all pretty much equal distance from me, but obviously NUFC are my choice

My living now will probably change in the new year, once FCUM open their new ground over in Moston.

Nearest clubs to me are Leyton FC, Spurs & Orient.

Obviously not gonna manage Spurs, fucking hate Orient and Leyton FC don't even exist anymore.

I'm living about 5 mins away from Fratton Park for Uni and have never had the desire to manage that club.

My local team is Bangor who are semi-professional and play in Championship 1, ground it situated ten minutes (walk) from my house and I had an excellent career (albeit too easy in the end) when I turned professional and qualified for Europe. Local rivals Ards also share our ground but I'd never manage that shower of shite.

Then we have Bangor Amateurs who play next door (no really, they actually do) but because they play in division 1C of the Amateur league, I'd need an expansion to manage them (if I chose too) but I doubt I'd ever get the opportunity unless they win promotion to Championship 2 on the game.

Born: nearest pro club is Middlesbrough, nearest club though would be Marske Utd or Whitby Town, both of which I played in the youth teams of before moving away.

Live now: The Stadium of Light is at the end of my street so Sunderland, though I can't stand them so I'd go for Gateshead or Newcastle

Chicago area, born and raised. Chicago (and MLS as a whole) is garbage, but I still try to play a Fire save every new iteration of the game.

mine was hinckley til they went under, i don't know if there will be a data extension far enough to play as them in the new game. so barwell or nuneaton are good ones. or my usual leicester,

Tranmere Rovers. Though thats where FM 2015 is shown to be flawed and badly bugged...... in my BETA game as TRFC......... I was winning 910 matches in League Two

I do like playing as Exeter City as I spent 3 years living down there and loved the place. Great home game atmosphere at St James' too.

Greenock Morton. Try and get them into the SPL. They're current 2 leagues down (real life).

I've exactly done that in 2 seasons. Trying to stay up and then progress from there..

Born: I was born in Harlow so Harlow Town. Would do it with them but that would require an extended database and i'm too lazy to set it up. Without any extended databases it would probably be Stevenage, Spurs or Arsenal.

Live: I'm currently living about half way between Ipswich and Norwich and East of me is Lowestoft Town who are in the Conference North if I remember correctly. Never managed Norwich or Lowestoft but have done Ipswich many times, mainly due to my mates being Ipswich fans. If I had an extended database then it would be Diss Town as they're like a 10 minute drive away from me. Bury Town not far away either.

Born and Still live - Swansea. Usually start out every iteration of the game with a Swansea save. This time around went the unemployed/lowest reputation route however and have ended up with Stockport. Now a couple of months into third season and hopefully will be third time lucky for promotion to Conference National... Ended 1st season one place outside playoffs. 2nd season lost playoff final on pens.

Did have the English expansion on FM14 as well as the Welsh expansion. With that, closest would probably be West End FC. Did play as Ammanford FC with that in FM14 - that's a tough gig!!!

I don't generally play as my local teams. Two closest are non-leaguers Maidstone United (Chris Smalling played here) and Chatham Town. Closest Football League team is Gillingham

Yeah i always start my first save with Boston United. Very difficult at non league clubs but so rewarding when you get it right
