This is promising for next season, especially as you don't have too much money to play with.

Thanks Dan. I think I may count it a a half trophy type thing.

December 2015
FC Lida
So we went into the offseason with high spirits but that quickly changed when finances caused a problem for this club. This lead to the board accepting 3 cheap deals for some of my best players. This including 20k for Shreytor the leagues leading goalscorer despite being offered 40k last season. This caused quite a problem with the players and especially me. It would not have been as bad if the money was made into transfer funds to replace them which is was not. I felt I could not take this club further so I left with immediate effect.
Now the chances of me getting a top division club offering a job is slim. I am happy to work up again from a lower division and build more reputation. One problem I had at Lida, is that due to finances I could not go on a coaching course to develop my coaching skills so hopefully I can improve in that area too.

November 2016
So after a year of unsuccessful interviews and being laughed at by clubs it seemed that the career was over. That is until one team decided to take a risk on me. I was offered a interview and a few days later this was followed by a job offer.
Thats right I will be going back to Poland the home of my first club Bytovia who sacked me. The difference is Katowice got promoted last season and currently sit 6th in the top division with 13 games to go. The previous manager left to join Jagiellona who currently sit 15th. What I'm looking forward to at this job is two other teams in the league did not even offer me a interview, so I look forward to playing them. We where predicted to finish 15th at the start of the season so its safe to say they have over achieved so far. A top 8 finish will see us enter the Championship group where we have a shot at Europe which will be my main goal this year.
We have a fairly well rounded team with good players across the board. The exception to this is the left hand side of the picture where improvements is needed at Left Back and Left Midfield.

November/December 2016
GKS Katowice
So it was a fairly short month game wise for us as we only played two games before going into the winter break. The first was against the former managers new team. We seemed to start well getting in loads of shots and dominating possession but we could not convert. We the slipped up after giving away a penalty which they scored. We pulled one back but the opposition had a quick reply to win the game. The last game was against Flota who happened to be one of the teams in the league who would not even offer me a interview. We once again led in possession and shots but managed to put them away this time.
Despite the loss we actually moved up a position thanks to other results going our way. Its still a very tight league with 14 points the difference between 2nd and 16th, so we need to make sure we make the most out of every chance.
We go into the winter break with 7 friendlies lined against lower league opposition. The biggest match will be the first one we play as it is against my old side Bytovia. After narrowly surviving relegation after sacking me they have been a lower mid-table side.
I also asked the club about a coaching course and with finances looking good they agreed to put me through Level A course.

So I was not too fussed about the results in off season it was mainly about fitness. This was for all but one game. Thankfully we won that game 3-1 playing well in the process. We had some good wins in the friendlies but also so bad ones.
During the off-season we also made a few moves bringing in four players on pre-contracts. Two come from the Porto B side and look possibly too good for the Polish league. One is Kadu a goalie I'm bringing in to challenge for the number one spot. The other is a midfielder Mikel Agu. He looks like he will be our number one central midfielder. We also brought in another two midfielders who will provide a good competition to the team.

Agreed! Agu looks like a real steal, good find.

Im surprised he wanted to join BMG. Looked at pre-contract players and he was just sitting there top of the list.
I hoping he becomes a key man Bukinapreto.

End Of Regular Season
GKS Katowice
We have had a fantastic 2nd half of the season only losing two games in the process. 0-0 draws against first and second gave us some unexpected points which always raises player morale. The first loss was a bit of a disappointment as it was a game against the team sitting directly above us. A lot of positives to take away though including the number of different goal scorers we had.
So after 30 games we finished in 4th place which secured us in the Championship Group. Legia ran away with the league and have already won it. We will be trying to grab either 2nd or 3rd and get a Europa Play-Off spot.

Thanks Dan. Yeah its a good team. Don't need to many changes.

Championship Group
GKS Katowice
We knew going into these next games it would be a tough challenge. That showed with the draw and lose in the first two. We ended up having a good time in the games scoring a fair share of goals. Jakub Swierczok was the the best player by far netter 7 in 7.
So we ended up finishing in second meaning we enter the Europa League in the 2nd qualifying round. It all came down to the final game against Pogon. A loss could have seen us drop to 4th and out of Europe.

Pre-Season
GKS Katowice
Our board expectation for next season is set at a top half finish which should be achievable. I will be aiming to go further and grab a Europe spot again though next year. We where given a good transfer and wage budget to achieve this, although I will be looking at frees and loans to do the job mainly. The 20K odd wages we have free will also help extend my key players contracts.
Pre-Season was mainly about fitness and team bonding again although the assistant did organise one friendly which was a good tester. I wanted to see how we would deal with a side like Anderlecht so I can see what Europa would be like. Thankfully we played well and came away with a draw.
We added 4 players to the existing 4 we had already agreed to sign. The first was Maciej Korzym who we had on loan last season which we extended for another year. After letting two CBs leave on free we needed to find a replacement which is Tomasz Jodlowlec who was recently released from Legia. The benefit to him is he can also play CDM & CM. We also loaned in Seweryn Michalski who looks to be our best CB now. Finally after selling Januszkiewicz for 38k we needed a right back. After being rejected by ex Anderlecht player Guillaume Gillet I brought in Andro Svrljuga for free.
We received some bad news after the Guingamp game about Mikel Agu. He seemed to pick up a minor injury during the game and was subbed off for precaution. After treatment it seems it was a pulled hamstring and would miss the next 3 months. This including our first Europa games against St Gallen

Congrats on qualifying for Europe and the draw against Anderlecht. Good luck getting into the group stages.

July/August 2017
GKS Katowice
We kicked off with 2 straight 2-0 losses which is never great. Theres always a chance two losses will lower morale but the team rallied and showed what they where made off. Our best performances seemed to come away from home and saved us in Europa all 3 times. Korzym is continuing his form from last year showing why we wanted to re-loan him. Kadu is also showing fine form with 6 clean sheets including 5 in a row and is looking like a steal on free.
After the month we sit top tied with Lech Poznan on 12 points. Last years winners Legia seem to have slipped this year and currently sit in 13th. Its going to be a tough job staying in 1st with 3 different competitions to challenge for but the squad seem to be up for it.
We where seeded 4th in the Europa Draw and as such have been given a tough group. All 3 of Monaco, Rubin & Frankfurt will be tough opposition so we need to take our chances. Going through will be difficult but it will be a good challenge.
During the month I also completed my National A License which has boosted my reputation to National. I will hopefully start my Continental License soon giving me a higher reputation so I can move up to higher clubs.

September/October 2017
GKS Katowice
So not the best two months here. A loss to a lower league side in the cup due to a penalty and a own goal has to be the biggest low light. Im really proud of the Rubin come back after being 2-0 down to grab a draw. We had 3 draws in the league when we should have really won at least 2 of them. The final league game against Korona the team played pretty poor and its no surprise we lost.
Legia had a great two months and managed to climb up above us to grab the top spot. If we can sort the draws out there is no reason we can't go on and grab first place back from them.
No surprise to see us bottom of the Europa group after 3 games but we have 1 more point then expected. With some more luck we could possibly take 3rd which would be a big achievement for the club. One thing I did notice is that our home games in Europa are actually being played in a different stadium which is bigger. We are getting just below 16k Capacity for them instead of a max 6k which we would have had in ours.

Another surge up the table with Katowice was great to see and even more so with the 'Champions Group'. Didn't know they had this system in Bulgaria and it has me intrigued! Fantastic achievement again. Slowly moving up that managerial ladder
It might be a blessing in disguise should the Europa League campaign end early though as the league looks a possibility this year.
simoncoyne
Funny, because not too much after I posted my comment, in my game I lost my starting striker and attacking centre mid in the two matches before a key CL match against Manchester Utd! I'm happy to see that we both managed to rise above the unfortunate injuries and progress
Congrats on making the group stages of the Europa League.

Haha thats FM for you Simon.
Yeah I think this title race will come right down to the finish this year Dan.
Thanks Bukinapreto. Thats one of the reasons I'm enjoying it as anyone can beat anyone.

The players really impressed for most of the last two months. Another 4 consecutive clean sheet games for Kadu and the defence and some good goals from the front. One of the key players has to have been Agu. He returned from injury and was solid in midfield also grabbing 3 goals. The main highlight has to be the 1-0 win over Frankfurt in Europa league.
We still sit 1 point behind Legia in 2nd place. Its looking like its going to come down to who slips up first. Legia do seem to be scoring for fun having scored exactly 20 more goals then us.
So as expected we finished bottom of the table. I never expected 4 points let alone a win so its still a positive for me. We also earned some good money for it putting our finances in a good state.
During the two months I was also offered a new contract. My old one ran out at the end of the season and has now been extended for the next 2 years.
Tommo.
GKS Katowice
So I did not want to change too much midseason as we are looking good at the moment. We only see one player left who was left midfielder Wolkowicz who has mainly been a back up player this season. We did bring in a replacement for him though. Left Winger Wayne Hamilton from Chelsea has joined us on loan for the rest of the season. Im hoping he can give us the edge we need to beat Legia.
We also once again agreed some deals for players on a pre-contract. There was a number of players we wanted which either demanded to much money or signed a new deal with there pre-existing club. We did manage to find 3 players who will improve the team. We seem to be finding some good players from Portuguese B teams and have brought another player from one in. Somehow we managed to get a player called Doru Popadiuc to sign who looks like he could easily be one of the best players in the league when he joins.

End Of Regular Season 2018
GKS Katowice
A near perfect 2nd half of the season for us there. 7 Clean sheets in 12 games is a impressive stat and one of the reasons why we have performed so well this season. Hamilton has been a inspired loanee assisting 3 and scoring in 7 games. The Legia game was always going to be tough especially away from home but we managed to come away with a vital point.
We currently city top by 2 points going into the Championship group. Our first game is against Legia and its looking like the winner will take the title. Its been 6 years since a team that is not Legia or Lech Poznan has won the title with Legia winning it 5 of the past 6 years.
