Cannot add a new manager to an existing game

I am trying to add a new manager into my game so my flatmate can play. I can pick the managers name and everything but when it comes to the team, they are all greyed out. Any ideas how to get around this?

Check you don't have 'start unemployed' ticked

Are you running multiple leagues some of which are "view only", or is every league you've loaded "playable".

If you're not sure I think you can check this by clicking on "FM" and then "Game Status"

Every league is playable so i don't know what the issue is with the game.

The problem may be that you've got "assign random clubs" ticked. I can't remember exactly where this is off the top of my head, I think it's under "Game Status", which you can access by clicking on the "FM" button, if not it's probably under "Preferences", which is also under the "FM" button.
