For me this years worst part of this game is transfers.I am playing this game since 93 and never had this much trouble with the transfers issue.
I've played with Arsenal and Galatasaray... And making a transfer is really hard.A players value is about 2.5-3M euro but his club wants 32M,or a young player valued at 1M but his club wants 20M etc....
I even tried some bargains that are listed by some people and still the same problem. I've read at some sites that some people are complaining about this also. (120 M was asked for Belhanda for example). One of my friend also tried a lot of players to transfer but always the same problem.(If the player is a wonderkind it is almost impossible)
So how we can buy a good player? (You may say try 48 months instalments but why would i give 32M for an ordinary player???) When I am playing Galatasaray I can not make any good transfers because the budget is 3.5M max...Also with Arsenal I only bought Martin Kelly from Liverpool for 9,5M and couldn't make any other transfers due to high prices...What is the point if we can't buy a good player???
Any opions????

I think this has been a problem with the game for quite some time now. Where a players value and the amount a club is willing to let him go for is ridiculous.

Lewandowski for example will set you back around £20mill, yet I reckon in the real world your are probably looking at the £10-£15mill mark. Which makes building a squad difficult, because say you have a £30mill budget your looking at a maximum of one big signing and having some change left over.

Then again you do see examples in the real world where Andy Carroll is bought for £30mill...

Also when you try to buy a young player the price goes higher then it is supposed to be... now i tried to buy Emre Can (18 years old) who is valued at 1.2M from Bayern. I offered 6.5M euros and his club wants around 18M.
Even if he is a real wonderkid in real life, which team will give 18M euros for him???

I think that's the point.

Unless you're willing to pay a ridiculous amount it's more beneficial to them to keep hold. They're not needing transfer funds and don't need a hasty fix to strengthen their squad.

So, teams are unwilling to sell their best prospects unless you offer them far more than their actual value?

Sounds like real life.

This will make transfer listed players a lot more important, now.

It both is and isn't like real life. If a player is key to the squad then naturally you are going to have to spend a small fortune to buy him, however there are also plenty of examples in Football Manager, and this has been the case for perhaps the last 5 or 6 games where an average club has a 'good' player or a top club has an 'average' player and their asking prices are beyond a joke.

Take Lukas Podolski for example, Arsenal bought him for what is believed to be around £10mill this season, Yet that sort of deal for that sort of player in that sort of team is pretty much impossible on Football Manager. I can't remember actually trying to purchase him on FM12, however I would make a wager that getting him would set you back a fair few pennies. The same applies for FM13.

I'm not saying that inflated fee's don't happen, as is seen in the Premier League, transfer window after transfer window when the next PL club wants to spend all their money on Darren Bent, or whoever is having a good season for the first time in their career. What I am saying though is that issues with valuations and the amount that the player can actually be bought for, have existed at many levels of the game, wonderkids or not for a while now.

Actually, the Podolski transfer is one that you do see on Football Manager, since Koln were relegated.

It might also be a part of SI's fight against monthly instalments which causes an issue, but there's a reason Chelsea had to pay around £30M each for the 'three musketeers'

Ok, bad example, and ofcourse Chelsea had to pay massive amounts for Hazard, Oscar and co, because they were the players on form at that time who had made a big name for themselves with lots of potential.

What I'm talking about here are the players who aren't necessarily worldclass or wonderkids that you might try buy as squad players. Their value is £5mill, they are regular squad players under squad status but when you lodge a bid of around 7mill, they will want about 15mill or more.

Had a wee look over at the SI board, judging from the posts on the transfer bug boards, apparently SI agree that the player transfer values are too high, at least as far as a few nations (France was mentioned) are concerned.

Hopefully the values will be more reasonable by the next patch.
