1. Extract folder to Documents/Sport Interactive/Football Manager 2013 or 2014/graphics/kits/put in here!
( If there is no graphics folder there, create "graphics" )
2. FM14 - click 'Load Game'....click 'FM'...click 'Preferences'...click 'Interface'....click 'Clear Cache'...click tick 'Reload skin when confirming changes' (if you first time)....click 'Reload Skin'
2b. FM15 - click 'Preferences'...click 'Interface'....click unticked 'Use caching to decrease page loading times and click tick 'Reload skin when confirming changes in preferences'.....click 'Reload Skin'.

i have a simular problem trying to get nottingham forest 3rd kit to work in the game configs all looks ok but just not showing

Why is this? Is it not possible to make Cardiff home blue and away red for 14/15?

you can do yourself, just swap blue kit to home, red kit to away.

I have tried. I changed the name in the kit folder to make the blue kit PNG home and red kit PNG away, I also changed the colours in the editor. The kits show correct on club info screen and the top bar is now blue but in the 3D match engine the home kit still is red and away blue. Do you know why this is?

Try changing the 3d kits.... They won't change themselves
change / rename 3d kits in championship folder
cardiff_home the blue one
cardiff_away to the red one
leave the cardiff_3 white one the same

Yes, I tried that! The 3d kits in the match engine were still the wrong way round/

AH! this is SS kits, NOT 3D kits here...go to 3D kits and ask for it! ok

I downloaded this and opened the folder to look at the pictures of the kits and noticed that the red kit was still listed as home and the blue listed as away, and then in the 'ALT' folder it has the Blue kit as home and red as away. Why is this?
Also, will this fix the kits in the 3d match engine too?

yeah, if you have Championship 3D 14/15 pack....swap cardiff blue away to home, red to blue 3d kit. thats simply ok?

U need to open resource archives it's hard to do but I have managed it
TAKEN FROM SPORTS INTERACTIVE FORUM....
1) Open Football Manager Resource Archiver 2015
2) Use 'Extract Archive' function to extract graphics.fmf from here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Football Manager 2015\data
3) Go into your extracted graphics folder and go this folder: C:\Users\your name\Documents\graphics\pictures\kits\2d\outfield\ front\eng
4) Re-name the file 'cardiff home' to 'cardiff away' and re-name 'cardiff away' to 'cardiff home'
5) Now find the folder C:\Users\your name\Documents\graphics\pictures\kits\3d\eng
6) Do the same, re-name the file 'cardiff home' to 'cardiff away' and re-name 'cardiff away' to 'cardiff home'
7) Use 'Create Archive' function to create an updated graphics.fmf
8) Save your new graphics.fmf over the top of the original in here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Football Manager 2015\data
9) Start a new game and Cardiff all working

(Updated - fixed config thats Cardiff home & away was defaults kit because
of updated FM patch 15.3 (thanks to CBM)
