Afternoon,

First time poster here!

I play a 4-4-2 with advanced wingers offering support to the 2 strikers.

Was wondering what roles people gave the 2 remaining centre mids in the middle of the park to give you options in attack while also offering control and protection of the back four?

I use the same formation most of the time with Liverpool.

I usually use one B2B midfielder and one CM/D. If your more defensive midfielder is a good passer/playmaker you could make him a DLP instead of a CM. Also if you don't have anyone versatile enough to be a B2B you could switch that to a BWM/S or CM/S or even a CM/A if you want to be extremely attacking.

Thanks for this! I'd like a box to box midfielder but my current save is in lower, lower tier of Swedish football with Hassleholms IF and my midfielder can't keep making the trip back and fourth up the pitch. Think I'll get him to sit in alongside my CM/D with a CM/S role.
