The Pan-European Challenge Stop1:Netherlands.Season 2 End

On a decent run Only few points behind Ajax!

Hey guys and welcome to yet another update of my Pan-European Challenge!I've reached the end of January transfer window and quite a few things happened so no more words.Let's get it started!

Eredivisie



Avery good start of the second half of the season.We played 7 games from wich we won 5 and drew 2 of them.


Things went well away at Enschede,where we faced Twente who changed their manager after a very bad form showed by the host team.We've created more chances,had the possession the majority of the game time and the result was satisfying the lads winning the game 3 goals to 1.Vellios confirmed the good form he is in and scored again.Sviatchenko continues to score much more than I was expecting and van Anholt scored his first goal of the season after a corner.

The victory over Heracles wasn't a surprise.Vellios scored a hat-trick and he is heading towards another magic season.Chipciu did his job well and closed the score sheet in the '89th minute at 4-1.


Matches against Groningen are always hard.This game wasn't an exception.It was a close match,we created our chances as they did and we had the most of the possession.All in all a fair result,2-2.


The game against Feyenoord was the match where new signing Michy Batshuaiy ended his goal drought and scored the 2-0 goal of the match.A very tight match but I'm happy that my team had a better quality when it camed to finishing and we got away with the victory.



The game against Ajax was an excellent piece of good football showed by my team.Sviatchenko scored a brace,both of the goals being scored from a corner.This season we've managed to beat Ajax in both of the league games.

The game against Vitesse was a simple formality again.Vellios scored a hat-trick again.The 2 goals we conceded were scored in the '87 and '90 minute because of the complacency my team showed.But I'm happy with the three points.
The game against PSV was really boring as the scoreline indicates: 0-0.

The table:



We are 2nd in the league because of the draw against PSV but we are just 1 point behaind Ajax and we have a better goal difference.My team has the best attack in the league scoring 56 goals and the 5th defence in the league conceding 25.

The Dutch Cup


We are on a good run in the cup,progressing into the semi-finals and reaching the board objective.But my target is to win it and the good news is that Ajax was knocked out by a second division team Helmond Sport who managed to reach the semi final again!(Last season we beat them in semi finals.)We've been drawn against Utrecht a team which was smashed by us 6-2 in the league.




The Euro Cup





The last game of the group was played against Sevilla who was on 0 points before the game.And they remained the same due to my team winning 2-0.
Another good news is that we finished the group 1st upsetting the odds:



The Transfer Window

I've signed 2 young players in this transfer window.Even if probably I will win the league and the cup this season I like to bring in youth players to my squads and launch them into great football.





Allione can even play in the first team and probably I will give him a go in a few matches this season.

Hey guys and welcome to the end of my 2nd season of the Pan-European Challenge.It's been a great season with it's own ups and downs but I can say I'm pretty satisfied that I've reached all my objectives.

Eredivisie


As you can see we didn't had the best end of a season.Unfortunately we lost our form at the end of the league We've started bad by drawing 0-0 against relegation candidates De Graafschap.Then we've smashed Volendam at away from home,4-0 and I've began to think that we could win the title this season.
Then,another great win,4-2 against Twente,Vellios scoring 4 goals!.An excellent form showed by my loan star in this match.
We made 2 wrong consecutively steps.Unfortunately we've lost 3-2 against Utrecht and we've only got away with a 1-1 draw against Zwolle.We came back to our winning days in the match against Roda,beating them 3-1,Vellios scoring a brace.RKC proved to be the only team that beat me twice this league season by winning 2-1.
We had a wonderful series of winnings:3-0 against AZ Alkmaar,5-0 against Ado den Haag and again 5-0 against our fierce rivals SC Cambuur.
Then we faced GA Eagles who stunned us and won 2-1.It was the end of our dream.The last 2 games didn't even matter,losing 3-4 to Heracles and 2-3 to Feyenoord.

And the league table:


We finished in 2nd,12 points behind Ajax and 4 points above 3rd placed PSV after having 10 points above them almost the entire season.Vitesse won the Euro League Play-off so they'll also play in Europe next season.Cambuur was the only team who got relegated.
We are going to play Champions League football next season baby!

The Dutch Cup


The semifinal against Utrecht was a really tough game.They've dominated us but we've managed to hit them on the counter and win the qualification to the well deserved, 2nd in a row ,Dutch Cup Final.

And now the final against PSV....


Oh ya baby!Silverware has finally come at Abe Lenstra Stadium as the lads lifted The Dutch Cup after winning 2-1 against PSV.The scorer of the winning goal was no one else than Apostolos Vellios.

The Euro Cup


We've been knocked-out by Anderlecht who won the first leg 2-0 at their own ground.Unfortunately the lads won only 1-0 at home so we said good bye to a competition which was conquered by Real Madrid after a final vs Lyon.

So for this season I've reached all of my objectives and I'm very proud of my team!!!Next season we are to play in the UCL so we need some reinforcements.Also I want this to be my last season at Heerenveen which means that I must win the league this season.For the cup...eh now that we won it I'm not interested anymore of it so I will rotate the squad here.

The Youth Intake


Yep!Yet another silly youth intake.Not much to comment.I've signed only the first two players.

Other News


Vellios claimed the top goalscorer of the league award,scoring 28 goals with 10 more than his candidate Bakkali from Ajax.


These are my next season budgets....I know...WTF?!

Team Ratings

No surprise here!Vellios scored a tremendous 42 goals in 48 appearances this season and had an average rating of 7,69 which was the highest in the league.
