Ok, so I've been playing FM for over ten years now, and have always been pretty good, I'd always make my own tactics, and training etc, and been successful wherever I've gone... But this game... I'm struggling, big time!!! I'm hoping it's all down to the Match Engine "bug" - As I've watched my tactics in action, and my players just don't seem to tackle, they don't track back, and they don't play well!!

Is it just me, something that's not quite right?? I've tried a few different tactics, tinkered around with them but still it's no better!!

I've just retired in disgust at my payers performance!!!

Anyone else having similar problems?? Admittedly I've only tried playing as West Ham (three attempts), and most recently Arsenal... but I now give up until a new big update comes out!

No, went 18 games unbeaten with Newcastle playing a narrow 4231, had a little dip since but I'm putting that down to Cisse being injured.

I think they are working on this issue for the new patch which is expected to be released next week.And while you are waiting for the new patch just use a more defensive tactic with a slower tempo as attacking tactics don't seem to be working really well atm.

It took me my first season to figure out how my team could play. I've always managed to figure out a favourable formation and tactics through every footy manager game. I prefer either a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1 formation like Real Madrid play. But getting the players to change is hard too. You need to stick with it and figure out a way that the team can play well together. And once you get the chance, buy players that will be able to play that formation.

I started with buying two quality centre backs that could hold the fort down with my anchor man, the rest fitted into place there after.
